So the dust has settled and with not much competition out their for Floyd Mayweather where does he seriously stand in the ATG ranks?
For me id have him in the top 10-20 range at this present time, where do most you guys place him?
top ten
Look at where all the people that you would say was greater than him were at 38 years old
Sugar Ray Robinson was losing to scrubs, Ali was losing to an 8 fight novice, Leonard got schooled by Terry Norris and ko'ed by Hector Camacho who started in the 120's
Longevity and consistency have to be accounted for.....He dominated his era like very few fighters have ever and has done it over 5 weight classes and 3 separate decades
People will say he didn't have a rival, or a great 3 fight series, but who needs that when you mastered neutralizing even your most accomplished or skilled opposition
Floyd Mayweather is one of the greatest fighters of all time.....in 48 fights....25 title fight wins....over 15+ titles defenses of 4 lineal and wins over 23 current or former champions
He is on the TRUE ALL-TIME GREATS
See here is my problem. I get it, Floyd has had a great career and I would certainly put him in the mix as one of the greats. Why do you feel the need to **** on other fighters careers especially when you omit relevant information?
Yes Ali lost to Spinks when he was a completely washed up fighter but he won a rematch with Spinks, even washed up.
Yes SRR was getting clowned late in his career but you do know he was 130-1 at one point in his career with his only loss coming to Jake Lomatta, an ATG and he beat Lamotta 4 or 5 times as well. Let me know how well Floyd would be doing if he fought 134 times during his prime. Also ask yourself why SRR had to fight well past his prime.
Sugar Ray lost to Terry Norris at 154 after spending several years campaigning at 160/168 and on top of that Terrible Terry Norris was a young hungry killer at the time. Dont even bring up Camacho as that is just dumb, SRL had'nt fought in 6 years, so just stop.
And do you think Floyd will follow Hearns around all night like Leonard??
Floyd would not attack in straight lines...
The only thing hilarious is you thinking Tommy Hearns knocks out one of the best defensive fighters in history with ease ( I mean, isn't that what you like to think?)
But you breeze past the fact that Floyd would fight low against Hearns. How Hearns has a suspect chin. I in no way meant that Floyd would beat Tommy with ease... but he would fight the way I suggested and in my honest opinion he would win...
Could Hearns catch him with a right hand and end it? Of course...but do we even need to say this about Hearns? I myself would not bet on Floyd Mayweather Jr being knocked out with one punch by anyone!
I'm saying he wouldn't have a hope in hell of beating Hearns at range, because no other f*cker could. Not Leonard, not even a light-heavyweight with a similar height and reach in Virgil Hill.
Mayweather wouldn't attack Hearns, period. He'd keep himself locked in a shell the entire fight, desperately trying to survive & wouldn't even contemplate the idea of opening up.
And LOL at referencing Hearn's supposed questionable punch resistance, as if Mayweather would come even remotely close to testing it. :lol1:
You're just randomly blurting out sh*te that sounds good in your head now.
Hearns isn't some stumpy, 5'7 plodder; he's a six foot plus, gangly motherf*cker with the hand and foot speed to match Mayweather, one of the quickest, sharpest jabs in boxing history and possessed one of the most lethal right hands in history.
The notion that Mayweather would be able to successfully pick Hearns apart at range is beyond the point of hilarity.
Seek help, son.
And the fact you point out that Hearns is gangly is quite funny....it's his gangly legs that I think lose him this fight

And the one that almost everyone will disagree with ....Hearns!! He does not have the legs to compete with Floyd....Floyd would make Hearns follow him ....land his left hooks/right hands and roll out...

See my sig.
According to you he is already with Ali, SRL and SRR because he has beaten Hatton, Cotto, DLH and Mosley. Add to that Pacquiao and Alvarez.
You have no credibility Hugh Grant, get out
Haha! Very nice.
Like I thought, can't name any fighters
Like I thought a @ss licker not going to debate a clown who thinks Floyd is 10 top YOU ARE OUT OF YOUR DAM MIND STICK TO WACTHING WWE
Probably in the top 20-30 range. What holds him back from being top 10 is his level of opposition & when he fought his best opponents. If he fought & beat Cotto a few years earlier, beat Mosley when he was a bit younger, fought & beat Pacquiao in 2009 or 2010 than he would definitely be in top 10. But there's too many other fighters with better resumes than him.
Hes probably closed the gap on Pac now, even with Pacs bad shoulder.

i don't think floyd beats easily those guys....
consider that there is a very big gap on the eras....
today's boxing is one where runners get points ....
boxing of yesteryears are for real fighters....
floyd himself admits he's a smart businessman....
for him to say he's tbe holds no water and is just another marketing ploy
Back when? When Leonard beat Hagler by running for 12 rounds? Because that's what he did...run....
Floyd uses lateral movement to control where the fight takes place ....Leonard would only fight you when he wanted to and never baited Hagler in order to counter...these are things Floyd would do
Floyd couldn't do to Duran what Leonard did in the second fight? Really? Do you actually believe this?
And the one that almost everyone will disagree with ....Hearns!! He does not have the legs to compete with Floyd....Floyd would make Hearns follow him ....land his left hooks/right hands and roll out...
He might get hurt once or twice throughout the fights but he will recover like he always does....
Floyd IS that good...
