Losing to Andre ward who is HOF p4p #1 when he retired and avenging his loss to yarde is not the same as losing to a bum.
There are no excuses for GGG. He won't move up for a challenge, he won't fight anyone good in his own class. Still unproven.
Whatever crap spin you guys want to tell yourself doesn't stop facts. More or less shows you guys might be paid shills.
Boxing1013 you are grasping for straws here.
All ggg til Jacob's were not even top 50 p4p fighters. Most not even top 150.
No one is buying it. Murray being elite. Gtfo
I like inoue but you guys were making him out to be p4p #1, beating Loma, champion to 135.....
Hes chocolito redux.
Remember that p4p #1 guy who they said has the best combinations, genius ring IQ, 1punch ko power as well as high volume puncher blah blah.... He fought someone the same size and you know the rest.
Donaire was basically retired for how long....?
Yeah Murray had just beat (by anyone who watched really) Sergio in Argentina...that was a really good version of him that GGG fought...probably the best version of him.
And again...boxrec has GGG 3 pfp right now, which is basically just ranking guys' wins based on who they faced...so yeah I would disagree that all of those guys he beat weren't good...boxrec obviously had them up high enough to rate those wins very highly...how can you explain that?
I'm just waiting for someone to come along here...look at the actual facts...and then saying 'OK maybe I'm wrong on this one'
lol
And to be honest I don't really see how anyone can see guys like Jacobs, Lemieux, SD, Murray, Geale, Monroe, Brook, Stevens, Ouma etc and not be impressed with those wins...and then he has about another 6 or 7 good dominant wins as well.
Yeah just don't really see that argument that his resume isn't really solid, certainly comparatively anyway...if you are going to be outraged at those being good wins for GGG, at least keep that same energy for every other fighter out there...because compared to GGG, most of their resumes would really suck.
You are clearly a troll who enjoys all this fake news and bs narrative. Again... Who did ggg fight who were elite? Canelo and Jacob's.
That's it. Case closed.
You're circular trolling logic is ridiculous.
GGG is good! We get it. I believe it.
He ain't great though. He never dared to be great. No Marquee wins. Always said one thing and did another. Never took risks.
He was the champ when mw was one of the 2 weakest divisions in boxing. He was allergic to slick fighters saying they fight boring. Even flyweight was more competitive.
You are like the guy in that South Park world of warcraft episode. How do you kill one who has no life?
All the ggg stans defending the same old lame arguments for the past 6-7 years.
So the guy you guys keep saying is getting old never dared to be great, never moved up, complain, excuses, mandatory (how many times is this crap going to be said for every ggg opponent).
Face the truth, ggg was a good champion.. Never great. Unproven.. Missing Marquee fights.
Truth hurts b$$$hes
You ggg stans reach so high to come up with fake news.
Let's see GGG's face or will he hid for a year + again after getting a beating.
Over/under that ggg fights again in 6 months?
Eh, Gvozdyk was arguably better than Kovalev when Kovalev first fought Ward, and Kovalev beat Ward in the first fight. I remember Gvozdyk was sparring with Kovalev before Kova fought Chilemba, and Gvozdyk beat Chilemba easier than Kovalev did. Plus, Beterbiev is hardly in his prime. Ward retired because he knew win or lose he was going to take a beating and lose brain cells.
Wtf are you smoking? Kov was p4p top 5 when ward fought him. Beterbiev isn't top 30 maybe top 50.
Honestly my perspective hasn't changed much of hin, he will be a fringe contender at heavyweight. In the mix, might pick up a belt but he isn't going to dominate...he isn't some master boxer, and with the size and some athleticism he is giving up I doubt he would unseat any of the top guys.
I'd put him on the Parker, Whyte sort of level. Hes another interesting player and will def add something to the division.
There are no dominant fighters at heavyweight. If you had a round robin, Fury and Wilder would probably come out ahead, but even those two are flawed fighters. They are very good, but flawed, beatable, and I wouldnt be surprised if there are more upsets along the way.
Usyk should fight Parker! You are right.
If ruiz loses and no 3rd fight, ruiz vs usyk would be great.
But let's admit it now, wilder is more athletic than usyk. Wilder is faster, stronger, massive reach advantage, faster handspeed, harder puncher. Usyk is not Holyfield. This is ggg being Hagler all over again. Usyk cleaned out the weakest division in boxing. Good champ, not a top 5 hw and thsts ok!
Prime ggg... You guys have to stop with the excuses. Ggg didn't want to ever take less money. Compromise weight or timing. He never wanted the big fight until canelo.
He could have been atg if he took those chances. Now just a good champ with a weak resume
No its not new. It's just a certain group of losers that are jumping on everything he says or does to discredit him. No fighter is perfect so if you go out if your way to find fault it's probably available. Problem is they ignore the failings of the fighters they like and gloss over them. Now that he has an official loss they feel embolded to say anything that pops into their head. Look at the ridiculous comments that are supposed to pass as boxing talk. Comments about the way he looks, his ears, where he is from, his religion, calling him Borat, his accent, the fact that he uses an interpreter and anything else they can use to ridicule him. It's truely disgusting and childish. Some posters have even taking to answering their own posts when they can't get a response. There are a couple of guys that have filled pages with only their consecutive comments.
It's because ggg attacked everyone and never backed up his talk.
Don't go saying you are atg and p4p #1 and everyone ducked you etc.
This is what happens when hype is exposed.
And please I don't want to hear the ggg too old, ggg too rich, blah blah excuse machine. It was ggg responsibility to build his legacy. Worse most ggg fans were begging Floyd to move up and fight ggg at a catch weight when Floyd was 40. And telling ward to go move up and fight kov. And telling Hopkins to move down and fight ggg at 44. Lol.
Can't have it both ways. It's why Floyd, Hopkins, and ward will be remembered as atg and ggg will be a good champion.
see...andre ward.....but I don't think I saw you pointing this out when ward was backing a fighter than his haters seem to love
tons of examples....but since you hate ward youll let that pass I suppose right? why not?!?! lol
this is common practice...paulie will say something about someone everyone likes and his credibility and loyalties will come into question...they'll bash his abilities as a fighter....then, poof, he backs them up in an argument and suddenly hes a "good commentator that tells it like it is and how he honestly feels"...LOL
when lennox, fury, parker, khan and froch were all telling us that AJs side was ducking for months they were all jealous cause they weren't as rich and one of them lost to AJ......when Ortiz said it was also AJs fault it was because "he lost to wilder and wants to make himself better"...but parker? nah he wouldn't dare wanna do that! hes just the bitter one! even though he said it right before he was about to fight on another hearn card!
we know who you like and don't like...no need to point this out in a loma thread
anyone with a functioning brain knows canelo beat ggg in the 2nd fight
Nice to bring it all back to aj and wilder. Let's get over that. Too much money and they going to milk it a LA pac v Floyd.
Same for wilder v fury 2...the entire hw division got too greedy.
You trolls guessing on gates like it's fact.
Who cares?
Aj - Joshua - fury all in a drama making machine waiting out each other for the mega fights. I swear aj paid trolls come here to pump aj.
Man no disrespect but you really gotta work on your English skills. It is hard to decipher what you are trying to say sometimes.
Lol and again - you are trying to position yourself as a credible analyst about GGG, and then you continue to mention the 'loss' that wasn't really a loss. If you're going to try and keep it real about a guy, you have to do it all the way around. Otherwise you just expose yourself as an over-emotional hater. You presumably feel really threatened by GGG's success and as a result are incapable of analyzing career objectively, sadly.
Anyone failing to give credit for 15 or so dominant KO wins against good to great fighters is just not credible.
As RJJ said - 'I don't fight nobodies, I make them look like nobodies' GGG did the same.
Dude KOed Bute in the ams too. But I already know your formula - 1) Do I like a guy? If no then did he win a decision fight? If yes, then it was a robbery. If no then the guy he KOed sucked. The only bum in this whole debate is you, you fu.cking bum.
Wtf are you smoking.
Rjj didn't ONLY fight nobodies.
And don't ever compare ggg to Rjj. Get a grip... Ggg resume is good not great. He was a good champion who will be remembered for what he didn't do and not what he did do.
And his next opponent is dogshiiitttt
Straight from the horse's mouth:
"Anthony Joshua is begging for the fight." -- Deontay Wilder
And these fanboys of his are still claiming it's AJ's fault the fight is not happening. Why do these idiots always make things complicated? It's so simple.
I thought wilder was the one begging for more money. Which one is it?!?
Or aj wanted more money?
The hype of this argument is what they want.... It's called the buildup.
No facts here! Just trolls making stuff up.
100m! 500m! Wilder makes 2m! 5m! 8m!
No one here knows.
All we know is aj and wilder need to fight or wilder and fury need to fight.... Some one needs to fight someone in a 50-50 fight.
It's sad that I'm looking forward to Crawford - khan because better fights need to be made...
I want fights like these
Porter vs Thurman was a war.
Bradley vs Russian rocky
Pac vs Marquez
Cotto vs tbe
Fury vs wilder
Ward vs kov
Gatti vs ward
We getting trash now.
Facts.
No proof of anything here. Only hearns possible word which is proven to be worth nothing.
I pray aj and wilder fight this year but realistically, if they agree to fight, they both will fight tune ups so they can both be at each other fights to hype it up! This is the game.
This is also what happens when a mega fight like fury and wilder gets postponed because fury backtracks. Now all sides scrambling to control the narrative and we wait like morons for fights that are delayed. The last p4p fight was ggg Canelo and ward Kovalev /wilder vs fury.
Thats like one a friggen year these days. Sad state of boxing.
i totally get it...he had the fury fight...but all these guys are telling me he lost.....so im like "how did this guy get beat in the hearts of the fans" and still raise his profile?
the fury fight definitley helped...but it didnt make him worth more to fight brezeale than he was worth to hearn to fight AJ in the UK
i mean they are actually offering him more to fight brezeale than hearns best offer to fight AJ...LOL....i mean....the fury fight didnt do that much for wilder did it? or is that the answer now? fury launched wilder to becoming wildly popular? that sounds like something someone will say soon
Sounds like a hater speculating and throwing shade.... How? How? How?
And ko Bute in the amateurs...thats how you know you're reaching. Reach more! He has those 400 amateur wins. So he averaged like 40 fights a year for 10 years against all those atg amateurs. Guess that makes him the champion of professional boxing.
Accept the truth supported by facts.
Ggg is good! But don't ever say he's great. He can't be great since he never proved it
its not too hard to outbox froch doe. almost everyone did it at least for the first half of the fight. second half he usually had great success but ward limited that with his wrestling tacitcs. dawson was obviously a zombie. ward beat him at the negotiating table just like the super six tourney. "Chad weighed 182 pounds, good, 14 pounds to lose in nine weeks. Fast forward to Aug 13. Chad weighed 184 and he had been running six days a week. When I saw that, I called and said, 'We should cancel this fight.'
So salty. Are you mad ward beat how many p4p top 5 fighters or that he fought them? I can't tell!
how many fighters outside of ww can you name in the past 10 years since ward retired who did the same? None. Thank you.
The judges had it correct, there was no reason for them to bias towards froch either. Ward deserved the win but it was a razor thin decision.
Froch didn't figure ward out. Froch fought hard but no way he outsmarted ward in the fight.
Canelo fighting a much bigger opponent who isn't feather fisted. Ggg fighting someone same size, likely weaker, no pop, less skills, no chance of knockout. At least fielding has a punchers chance. I can't wait to see the Vegas odds on this fight.
Would Ward? He was a weight bully his entire career.
http://boxrec.com/en/boxer/281958
Here is his record. He fought a lhw for the Olympics even though he qualified at 168 just to give his friend a chance. Ward was not a weight bully. Come on now... He fought bigger dudes all the time... He went to 175 and needed time to adjust there as well. Ggg ducked him.
Stop making excuses. Anyone that has ggg or his resume above ward in a p4p needs to go to box rec and look at facts
Lucky history won't remember the media scorecards. But they will remember ggg getting backed up and losing to Canelo. That's what the 1 loss on ggg records show.
Both can't beat counter punchers who are faster than them. Both hyped to the stars and I was a big kov fan.
Again good boxers and champions but not atg. Looking back Stevenson would of smoked Kovalev imo he beats him right now and Adonis is 41?
My pt is Roman was ranked 1 p4p and I remember the entire bandwagon in espn/hbo/forums saying he's that good. They trying to push narrative he's second coming of Manny but once he fought people his size and skill, gets his face rearranged then put to sleep.
Kovalev was ranked p4p #2 or 3 behind Loma and Roman, and ward breaks him down and then gets put to sleep in the next fight. Most likely will lose the rematch imo
Ggg was suppose to be the best of his generation supposedly as good as Floyd and Manny (even though he fought in 1 weight class but that's another issue) then regardless if you agree with the decision Canelo rearranges his face. Now the next step is being stopped or ko.
See the pattern. The hype job is that they were hyped to be the better than good, they were suppose to be the best of their generation. Ggg can still redeem himself if he turns it up but that risk also puts him in the same pattern as other HBO/espn spin/hype jobs.
Case in pt
Ggg was top 24 of out 25 best boxers in the past 25 years.
ESPN's take: A bit early to write GGG's history, but he has the potential to go down as an all-time great middleweight. Golovkin still has a long way to go and a possible match with Canelo Alvarez might provide more evidence of Golovkin's true abilities. -- Wally Matthews
Roman was # 20
ESPN's take: A native of Nicaragua, "Chocolatito" has followed in the footsteps of late countryman and mentor Alexis Arguello as a feared puncher. The three-division champion is also among the most well-rounded and complete fighters in boxing today, with an almost artistic beauty to the way he attacks. -- Brian Campbell
Canelo fighting in Dec and he owns the Cinco de mayo date. He will be fighting someone with a name by then.
Ggg took a beating? According to the fans and ESPN, he won. Why can't he stay active and fight charlo? Then may date with Canelo makes sense. All other scenarios point to ggg fighting more bums.
