honestly my perspective hasn't changed much of hin, he will be a fringe contender at heavyweight. In the mix, might pick up a belt but he isn't going to dominate...he isn't some master boxer, and with the size and some athleticism he is giving up i doubt he would unseat any of the top guys. I'd put him on the parker, whyte sort of level. Hes another interesting player and will def add something to the division. There are no dominant fighters at heavyweight. If you had a round robin, fury and wilder would probably come out ahead, but even those two are flawed fighters. Usyk should fight Parker! You are right. If ruiz loses and no 3rd fight, ruiz vs usyk would be great. But let's admit it now, wilder is more athletic than usyk. Wilder is faster, stronger, massive reach advantage, faster handspeed, harder puncher. Usyk is not Holyfield. This is ggg being Hagler all over again. Usyk cleaned out the weakest division in boxing. I don’t know what anyone else expected to see but I saw what I expected to see. Witherspoon is a good fighter with an excellent pedigree, no way was Usyk going to just walk through him. Fighters who have done that in the past have brought power and overwhelmed Chaz. That is obviously not Usyk’s game. I could see Usyk beating Wilder and Ruiz, his reach, lateral movement and work rate would be to much for Andy. If you saw Szpilka/Wilder then picking Usyk over Wilder isn’t crazy at all. I think Fury and Joshua would be tough, not thinking Usyk lasts long enough to take advantage of Joshua’s poor stamina. Usyk just doesn’t have Andy’s chin. Fury is just too big and I’m having a difficult time seeing what Usyk could do to win any rounds.

Good post. I watched Usyk through the WBSS and naturally would compare him to Lomachenko. After the Breidis fight I came to realize he's not as fast as Lomachenko and he gets hit more than him. He's no defensive wizard but Everyone knows he can box. But I guess the Real question is gonna be Can he take a shot from the Big guys. Exactly. I rate Usyk highly but he isn't in the same phenome category as Loma, tc, pac , Mayweather and fighters of that ilk . Heavyweight is going to be really tough for him but he can beat some guys as long as he can handle the power.

The people complaining about how Usyk fought certainly have never seen him fight before. I have said multiple times that Usyk is no defensive genius and he does not have super human speed or power. What he is, is a very functional fighter with exceptional basics and most importantly, terrific grit and determination. He has taken hard punches in his career and he has been out boxed but each time he comes back and finds a way to win. This fight was about answering one question - can Usyk carry the extra weight? The answer was yes. He certainly has the ability to outbox a heavyweight like Wilder but can he take the power? How does he deal with the size and tenacity of someone like Whyte? LMAO. Saying he lacks power and is a slow starter. Usyk is always on you 12 rds non stop and he never gets tired. He does start slow to figure his opponents out. Only way joshua, ruiz, or wilder beat him is if they land a hail mary. Usyk has never been koed amateur or pro and dropped. They have to land clean shots on him. I tbought his performance was decent, he won every round. He did what he always does forced his opponent to fight at a pace he cant keep up. The first few rounds are always different to the later rounds when he fights. His movement and workrate is a joy to watch, not a clintch either. He took a few shots , but nothing to worry about. Usyk can outbox anyone at heavyweight for sure but who knows how he'd take a flush shot from Wilder. I think he'd beat Joshua fairly easily, he's slow and robotic and has no punch resistance. Ruiz and Usyk would be a fun fight but I think Fury and Usyk would be a boring chess match.

There isn't a fighter alive that can take Wilder's power and stay standing for 12 rounds. If..nope..when Usyk gets hurt .let's see how he responds. Whats all this 12 rounds with Wilder and Wilder only needs to land once. Wilder gets clipped with the right shot and he could be knocked out in the 1st. You wana talk hypothetical then lets be hypothetical all round and stop with the Wilder will always have 12 rounds to land that perfect punch.

He had a UD with no knockdowns with Bermane Stiverne in their first fight. Round 3 was pretty clearly a knockdown that Weeks didn't call for some reason.

Even old Stiverne could stay 12 rounds on his feet in first fight. Wilder ripped his bicep that first fight we all know what happened to stiverne that’s still wilders most vicious KO so I don’t know what you mean by even.

He fights a lot like lomachenko. He starts off giving different looks and feints to see his opponent’s reaction, then he starts to punch off them. He builds up round by round.
