PAC of today will only lose if he doesn't train rigorously. PAC needs to be focused 101% on the fight. Sure sometimes he says it, but to hear about him going to derbys, playing pool and this and that just makes me weary. If all of the politics, the celebrity, the etc. gets to him like it did before, he will lose.
He can be a champion for years and then a legend if he only dedicated a few more years to boxing.
THEN he can go do whatever.
Can you guys then explain with MMA PPV (especially the UFC's) are starting to rival BOXING'S best? Whether or not MMA will eclipse boxing real soon, it is also really close in PPV sales and popularity.
I saw the fight twice and like Floyd said, Zab is a frontrunner. He was pushing it for the first five rounds and after then started gassing out. As for Floyd eating lefts, early yes but after then they were touching his gloves. Even Zab admitted to Floyd's tough defense. Floyd let him gas out while he felt him out for a few rounds and eat him up. I mean the punches were coming from left and right and Zab didn't really have an answer. Even if the knockdown was counted Zab would have lost by at least two rounds. It would've been 115-113. I mean Floyd taunted him in the 12th letting him try to catch him...he didn't.
You're right. It was kind of annoying too. It could've let his hands go half way through the fight knowing he could the punches but I guess he really was timid the whole fight. But at least he took it with a grain of salt. I just hope he can get some decent fights. 5-6 months between the fights...but then again Freitas didn't fight for ove a year. Poor guy.
i have no problem with the decision, everytime freitas landed a punch, raheem went to hold and falling a few times cause he was trying to hold
Taylor didn't do anything in the 12th. Wright threw jabs and a few straights. Though not as aggressive it doesn't matter. He was more active and was moving. Taylor through one 1-2.
And he was right, TAYLOR didn't do shit in the 12th round. Winky though boxing threw more punches and should've gotten the 12th even though he didn't bang it out.
At least he wasn't so excited to get a draw like Taylor. Did you see how elated he looked that he got the draw then acting as if he was the P4P champ or something? So far he hasn't really proven anything other than real close scored matches against fighters who really never had the most popular following in their careers.
You're kidding right? Threw more than Winky in the 12th? If his two punches were more that means Winky didn't throw two punches the whole 12th. Go watch that 12th round again.
winky shouldn't have bounced around the whole 12th round like that...taylor wasn't being that aggressive because of his eye but he still threw more than winky in the 12th.
I'd also like to add a couple of things. Someone mentioned that Mayweather can fight good going backwards or forwards. Don't also forget that Mayweather can work angles incredibly and have his punches coming in angles that would be perfect against Baldomir's straight forward style. Baldomir's punches are also not the most technically sound punches which Mayweather should be able to defend against easily.
Mayweather vs. Judah also saw a more focused Judah. I am quite sure he trained a lot harder for that fight in comparison to the Baldomir fight he lost.
The only way I see Mayweather losing is if he came in underprepared, unfocused and taking this fight lightly.
Man, coming from one who's done kickboxing & muay thai for quite sometime I'm quite impressed with his agiligy for being so tall. But you have to admit it was definitely his hands that did a lot of the damage. Impressive. If he got better I'd love to see him do K1 or something against some pretty big guys.
1. When he throws his jab his left seems to flail a bit and he kept on getting countered
2. When he flurries he tends to stop after a few combos which always gave Morales the chance to come back
3. Yeah, balance
4. Maybe throw in a left uppercut cause I he always had a chance to do it during the fight in close
But those right hooks to the body looked devastating and his left always seemd to connect on Morales even though he had his right hand up
I'm a huge PAC fan and I don't see him beating RAHEEM. PAC's style is still do linear and RAHEEM is slick as hell. MORALES has way better movement than PAC and look what happened. RAHEEM's just going to move in and out the whole fight and unless PAC lands that bomb picture perfect...well, I don't know. It'd be really tough.
Okay, I think most of everyone is missing the POINT. He is a KID. How kids in this world box do martial arts etc? Definitely nowhere close to the billions of children out there. So basically in COMPARISON to the majority of KIDS out there he does have skill. You really shouldn't compare him to the gyms everyone else here has been in or trains in because I can also gaurantee there are also TONS of other kids out there that probably also do not have the same precision on the focus mitts. Man, why is everyone such a hard ass.
Don't forget that PAC was going to the body a lot more often comapred to the first fight. I was seeing him going to the body with the right hook over and over and over and unlike last time he would barrage more often instead of doing a 4 punch combo and being done most of the round. PAC still has some more things to work on but after that...
MORALES is just really really worn out. It's probably best for him to really rest and take on some good tough fights that won't lead to wars. Just needs to gain some confidence back. I don't think he really lost much.
I don't think so. Morales was clearly trading and putting up a great fight with Manny. It was all those power shots that finally broke him down. Shit, he just looked bad after those early rounds when Manny was landing flush. The gloves definitely made a difference, and you wanna say Morales is outta his prime, you can say, Manny's gloves made him look that way.
I think unless you're a big puncher and could've knocked this guy out (which he never has been)...man, his style was all f'd up and WINKY isn't that fast...I mean he averaged 105+ PER round not the first half. His chin was made out of iron and he was fighting all funky. Mayweather probably would've faired better (probably at a lighter weight) cause he's a lot faster than WINKY and may have had an easier hitting him but man...yeah I was kind of worried.
DUDE, THE GUY'S NEVER BEEN KNOCKED DOWN. The guy has had what? almost 40 fights and never has been knocked down? We all already knew WINKY's no power puncher. How else was he going to win? Did you think he was going to go into the fight and put on some crazy performance and run around the ring and fight like someone else? Unfortunately, some of us who's been boxing for a while appreciates it.
He won't be able to beat Toney. Like Tarver said himself...he may be a young 36 compared to Jones but it'll catch up quick within a year or two. He moves up in weight he'll be terribley slow. Toney will counter him all night.
I don't think Manny's english is that good! Let alone him thinking about typing it. But do they ever have a pro visit this web and maybe have Q&A's? or have a chat room for a night of Q&A's?
I am Manny Pacquiao.
Tarver is naturally a lot bigger than Hopkins. Hopkins has been middle weight his WHOLE CAREER. Tarver has been light heavy weight his WHOLE pro career. At age 40 I don't see Hopkins bringing in much power if he were to fight at light heavyweight. I don't see Tarver going down to middle weight as well. He's already scrawny at his weight.
