Accept it.He hasnt gotten a significant KO at this weight class.Couple that with Zahir Ruiz's fucked up balance and his still in question chin, and he couldnt score a clean KD.
No shame in that....Raheem is a pretty slick guy. Hard to tag cleanly as he rolls away from a lot of shots. Freitas still hit him with some good rights. Diaz has NOWHERE NEAR Raheems defensive ability. Freitas would be hitting Diaz with a lot of power shots. Raheem didn't like the right hand and neiother would Diaz.
Its not just that he beat the B level Cotto,he fucking dominated.Granted,Cotto probably hits about as hard as freitas does now(yeah...let that sink in)BUt it was still a very good win.
Wake me up when Jose Cotto knocks out a guy like Jorge Barrios, Javier Juaregui or anyone else I may have ever heard of before.
Me and you will be betting some bigass points in Diaz's step up fight, sir.
Why certainly Mr. Mech.
it's hard to believe that his punch has just magically left him.

I'm telling you...Juan Diaz would be schooled badly by any top lightweight. The kid is exciting to watch...and overachieves like a motherfucker...but he'll get smoked when he steps up.

and another thing,I dont see why you imagine that Freitas is walking around with the same power now that he use to.
Because it really wasn't that long ago that he was KOing 29 opponents in a row.
Stopped Barrios, stopped Ramirez, stopped Juaregui...the guy can crack. Even though he hasn't stopped a top guy in a couple of years it's hard to believe that his punch has just magically left him.
His style is less puncher...more boxer now, but he still shows flashes of big time power when he plants and throws that quick right hand.
dude youre crazy.Youre loco.
I seriously dont fucking get where youre coming from.
No he dosent beat Juan Diaz, diaz is a damn complete fighter.Gets hit too much?! Hardly, show me that fight were juan diaz took a bruising to the face.
EDIT: I meant he ONLY beats corrales if corrales is wrecked like you say he is.
I think youre forgetting Freitas deserved to lose tonight homie.
hombre.
We haven't seen Diaz fight anyone outside of a couple of game, B level at best opponents in Sim and Cotto. Jose is not his brother, and if he would have carried a better punch he would have had Diaz in bad shape. Diaz is hittable...saying he is anything less is blasphemy. Dude took a lot of punches against Sim and Cotto. Sure he's getting better at slipping punches on the inside and such, but that ain't gonna happen when he fights a guy who possesses the handspeed that Freitas brings.
Freitas deserved to lose? If anyone deserved to lose it was Raheem fighting like a fucking amateur. Freitas came to fight and he got the nod in a CLOSE fight that really could have gone either way. Again, I had the fight a draw so it's not like I was pulling for Acelino here.

when does you consider clinching illegal? and for how long or it depends on the ref.?
In Hatton vs Tszyu Hatton clinched for a long time through the whole match does this consider to be legal?
only if you want to scream instructions to which ever fighter you are rooting for
i bet on raheem to win, and what you just said doused any desire for me to see the fight ...
i think boxing needs to establish the difference between clinching, which is apart of boxing, and holding which is illegal cause it costs fighters points, sometimes i hear people say o he just clicnhed blah blah and another goes no thats holding deduct a point blah blah blah
guys, reading from your comments, Raheem fought in a way i did not expect him, i thought he was going to ... box move box clinch box move .... but it seems he only box clinched, he totally forgot the move part ...
guys you think the fight is worth uploading or downloading?

If Raheem had won the decision....I'm going to see Frietas got robbed thread all over the place. You just can't win. :D
check out the sound the alarm thread, raheem did too much holding
like he did against barrios right?
the corrales fight was an anomoly...get that quitting shit out of your mind. diaz wont fight any skilled guy with a good punch...when he does he's going to pay because hes too fucking hittable.
now you're saying raheem has a better chin then diaz?
I doubt that Diaz would put that same pressure on Freitas ,once he taste's Freitas power. Another thing, Diaz doesnt have half the power in his punches that Corrlaes has. Like I said when I saw Diaz win his first title by beating a nobody. He wont beat any of the top fighter's out there.
at worse diaz has the same amount of power raheem has yet, diaz brings alot more pressure and lots more punchs then raheem did
like he did against barrios right?

diaz has too much pressure for freitas, freitas would have another breakdown or survive a ud lose

I had it 6 rounds a piece. Neither man clearly won in my eyes. Freitas started early and closed the fight...Raheem largely dominated the action in the middle of the fight (I believe I had Raheem winning 2, 5, 6, 8, 9, 10...rest to Freitas roughly).
I was waiting for Freitas to wisen up and start trying to time Raheem. His right hand should have been shot to the abdomen more...he still had success throwing it upstairs because of his handspeed, but it could have been used much better.
Raheem looked very sloppy, and like he was afraid of exchanges. I was unimpressed with him tonight...as he didn't look like the slick technitian that showed up to fight Juarez and Morales.
Freitas would beat pretty much everyone at 135 outside of Castillo. I think Corrales has had his highest gear beaten out of him by Castillo...and he'll never look the same again. Freitas would slaughter a guy like Juan Diaz...I'd be willing to put up some loot on that shit for real. He has the strongest legs I've seen on a lightweight in a long time. His handspeed would really fuck with Diaz...and his obvious edge in power would discourage Diaz from throwing those extended combinations he is able to throw against lesser fighters.
I thought it was panning out to be a pretty good fight before all of the holding.

Oh there is no doubt in my mind that Freitas would kill Diaz and would beat Corrales in a rematch.
