Why did Winky look as bad as he did tonight?

I really enjoyed what I saw of this fight. I didn't realize it wasn't a PPV event, so they showed it on TSN in Canada. I caught the last 4 rounds. I was impressed with both guys. I guess Winky must have been dominating pretty heavily early on, but Sam was pretty crazy. He turned the fight into a brawl, at the end, and I was really happy to see how Winky responded. Winky can really throw, if he has to. He had Sam hurt real bad in round 11, I think it was. It was pretty entertaining. I'm not really sure why anyone would say either fighter looked bad. It was just a tough fight.

Greatest has NOT been a Taylor fan. He just has that sig because he lost a bet with me. Anyway, back to the thread...Winky won clearly and he looked pretty good. The fighter was very unorthodox and probably made a compubox record for punches thrown. When you throw that many punches, you can have success. I already said before the fight that the bout would be competitive in a sense because Winky likes to trade with guys when they throw a lot and his defense opens up a bit, like vs Angel Hernandez and JC Candelo. Wat you do not understand is, few guys have the SKILL to go along with the energy it takes to throw a whopping 1,000 punches a fight. Certainly, you won't see Jeraim Taylor throwing that many punches. So basically, Winky-Soliman is not a fight you can watch and then say based on it that Winky will not beat Taylor or the other top middleweights. Also, Wright had a cold and that does affect your performance. Even with the cold he won and did so convinvingly vs a top 10 middleweight. Exactly what I've been saying. Don't forget, guys, Kassim Ouma claims he had a cold and he took a trouncing at the hands of Roman Karmazin. Colds DO affect your performance and Wright didn't bring it up at all in the postfight. You'd have to read on the internet to even know that cuz I didn't hear HBO mention it once.

Have you noticed that place that don't get a lot of big fights ( I noticed this in Chicago with the Vargas fight) really come out looking for blood and KO's and boo lustily? Granted, they tend to get showcase fights. DO they boo because they aren't real fans or do they boo because they rightfully expect more? I didn't hear much booing for the action at least tonight, just the decision. I'm sure they weren't booing in disagreement, just that they wish Soliman had one. Truth be told, he shouldn't have gotten as close of scores as he did

I think Winky Wright underestimated him, he has never fought a opponent with that style.

I give alot of respect to solimon....and for winky.. i dont kno...dont give me that flu shit lol he had a cold... winky couldve knocked him out but soliman had a good chin and alot of heart... and made him survive the fight with out falling.... i said to my self this guy isnt going to last 12 rounds fightin like this and look....shit solimon has a rare endurance that not most boxers have..(Even tho he doesnt have the 1 punch ko power) but still solimon deserves respect...and what whas with the booin lol sum of the people were not please by the decision lol

I've never seen so much made out of a new champ taking an easier fight after winning the belts. Hopkins fought 4 tomato cans after winning the IBF belt before facing Glen Johnson, who wasn't near the fighter then he is now. Jones spent most of his time at LHW fighting tomoato cans. If he doesn't sign for Winky after the Little Rock fight, feel free to seing away on him. Until then, give him the same opportunity that others have had.

Winky didn't look bad at all tonight. I was thoroughly impressed with the effort both guys put forward. Winky fought as good as you can against a guy like Soliman. Solid performance by both guys and a great, great fight in general.

Soliman Was Akward As Hell But Props To His Stamina And His Chin The Only Other Boxer I Know Throws Over 1000 Punches Is Ouma, Yeah Solimans Skill Sucks But Even Manny Stewart Was Impressed On How Long He Lasted The Way Hefought And Got Tagged So Cleanly, Partially Cuz Wright Aint A Puncher.
