This was horrible fight, thanks to Raheem! I had it a draw, but POPO deserved the win, if you ask me. Raheem deserved to lose, becuase he was fighting like the great Ruiz. I have no problem with POPO winning this fight.
Also the HBO compubox was off once again by a mile.
great minds think alike. this post is spot on
This fight was an absolute nightmare. It's a shame, because it was very intriguing, going in.
A draw would have been perfect.....as neither deserved a win.
I agree. I scored it as such. It was one of the worst fights I can ever recall watching. Just criminal to watch. My house was full of non-boxing fans and they were laughing the whole 12 rounds. Very bad for boxing.
it was a very close but boring fight
I could see it going either way, even tho one of the kd looked legit to me, I think it would have been a draw
Freitas definately earned a pt. on the 2nd or 3rd kd. Guess by that time the ref. was getting used to the acrobatics and chalked it up to just another one of those. :D
BWAHAHAHA!
This is the only fight where both fighters turned the ropes into a trampoline.
And the commentators....well, they had not much to say. Which...in a way, is a good thing coz Larry Merchant takes 40 seconds to finish saying 10 words.
this time we got the 'pleasure' of listening to Max Kellerman, Lennox Lewis (not so bad) and some guy I didnt even know....guess thats the difference between Boxing After Dark, and HBO's Championship boxing?? Other than kellerman, I didnt mind the switch so much.

I quit keeping score after the 8th or so because I was frustrated with the close rounds..........I think a draw or a 115-113 win for eother fighter is acceptable.
7 rounds to 5 for one guy doesn't translate to a robbery dude. That means you saw two rounds difference from a Freitas victory. Hardly a robbery. I don't see how anyone could have Freitas winning 8 rounds though (that judge sucked). If Freitas won the 12th round, then he definitely won the fight. So it depends how you score that round.
to me, robbery is anytime a bout is scored improperly. just my opinion.
I think it's funny when you idiots come on here saying it was 7-5 (as close as a fight can get) and yet your guy was robbed.
Quit cryin'.
no shit. 7-5 is in no way a robbery. I believe Tarver got a draw against Roy in their first fight, but I've never called that a robbery. It was bad the margins Roy won by on the cards he won, but hey, it was a close fight. If you win 8 rounds and lose the decision, THEN you can call robbery. 7 rounds to 5 a robbery? Pff
I found Raheem's performance very disappointing. Clearly this was his fight to win, although neither man really stepped up and took charge. I just felt Raheem was acting girly and losing a lot of close rounds. I scored it 8 rounds to 3 and 1 even for Freitas, 117-112 in other words.
I had it 7 rds to 5 rds in favor of Raheem. Raheem was robbed. Worst case scenario the fight would have been a draw. Freitas did not land enough clean shots IMO. i dont buy that "busier" fither crap.
there was a lot of holding by Freitas that was made to look like Raheem was doing it. And him holding in the round he was thrown down was BS, dude would not let go. And he spit that mouth piece out to gather himself.

Raheem only landed like 6 more punches than Freitas and you can't really make a case for Raheem winning 2 of the first 6. So he's already down 4 with only 6 rounds left. I gave him 7 through 10, thought he lost the 11th, and gave him the 12th although that may be the worst round I've ever seen fought as a 12th and final round
tracy sayin, "Raheed acted Terrfified" ISN'T an opinion eitha like you claim it was of yours. You said as if it was a fact and I just try to debate it. :D
he did act terrified, and i'm not the only one that pointed that out. Rushing in to wrap your arms around your opponets waist isnt boxing...hugging like hell (even grabbed the ropes a time or two when he was clinching freitas) when someone is hitting you..thats fear and/or a sign of being hurt...something you claim raheem never was.
