maybe there is something in the water down here in florida but i had this fight alot closer than the judges scores..i belive it was a draw i gave soliman 1,2,5,8,11,12 rnds..
soliman's style is wild but i belive that his aggresiveness was effective winky did not fight his and was took completely off his gameplan because of the constant presure and volume punching of soliman ...like emmanuel said during the fight winky tried 3 different styles during the fight and could not figure soliman out i'd say that is effective aggresiveness i would give soliman pts. on this rather than to winky's defense which is just holding his hands up he does not even attempt to counter...again i don't think winky lost the fight i just feel it was a draw
If it was effective, he would have hit a lot(he didn't) and not get hit (he got hit a lot).

worst judge ever?
Shemnue, the problem is, to score for aggressiveness, it has to be EFFECTIVE.
I will not argue that Soliman made this fight interesting. I would love to see him in there against just about anyone. The only effect his aggressiveness had was that it made Winky fight more than he usually does (THANKS SAM!!!!). At times he was so overly aggressive that he made it too easy for Winky to land the much harder shots.

I scored it with rounds 1 and 8 too. I thought round one could have gone either way but that early on Wright hadn't started to hurt him so I went with the activity. I hadn't written down a score before either, just in my head. It was kinda fun. I'll do it more often, at least when I'm watching without alcohol
that's why i gave round 1 to Soliman too, the right really didn't start for Winky until round 2.

i had it to my surprise the same as Duane Ford.. Winky 117-110, giving Soliman rounds 1, 5, and 8. I don't believe in givng the last rounds to a fighter simply because he's throwing alot. Wright was obviously the more effective puncher, he was able to keep his style under control and not let Soliman throw him off, and he was the overall controller of the fight in which Soliman was like an energizer bunny.
on a side note, a friend of mine and me agreed that Soliman took some Xyience before the fight.
This was the first fight I have ever scored, so I don't think I did too badly at 118-110. I also gave the first round to Sam, and round 8.

I could remember the last time a guy weighed less at the unofficial than the weigh-in (although Vivian Harris might have done it against Maussa). Apparently that should have been a sign to people like me who kept waiting for Sam to wear out

very good points vbMartin, i underestimate you.
Overall his defense was good, well actually it was really good, but he let mroe slip in between the gloves than usual. That was probably just knowing he had it in the bag though
i didnt get to see the fight bro, i am just going off of 3 other sites, and other credible posters that said that it was 116 -112 at best for winky and 115-113 at worst for him. I know that sounds weird but you know what i mean bro.
When you get a chance to see the fight just take notice of what lands and what doesnt. Soliman landed some punches of course, it would be sad if he didn't when he threw 1200. But 95% of the meaningul punches landed came from Winky Wright.
Soliman's style made Winky look sloppy at times, but as has been noted, he would have that same affect on Taylor, Hopkins, Tito, etc.
Winky won the fight by a comfortable margin.
I thought this Soloman was gonna wear himself out by the 5th round and just tip over, granted I didn't watch the 2nd half of the fight, I see he survived. From what I watched, Soloman was just throwing, and not hitting Winky very good, but he did get hit as evident by his face. Winky picked his spots, landing more precise shots, and more power shots. From what i heard, Winky won by alot.
I also watched the 'Hopkins/Taylor 2' fight for the first time, and I scored it the same as the judges. I thought Hopkins may have won the 1st round, but I had Taylor winning rounds 2-6, with Hopkins winning 7 and 8, then back and fourth for the most part the rest of the way. I had the 11th for Taylor, 12th for Hopkins. Good fight though.
Thank you for that, its not just me who believes in great defense then.
Except winkys defense didnt look so great at times,Like DLT said, soliman had his shares of clean shots.

What have you been smoking 117-111 for Winky. 10th round could've been scored a 2 point round for Winky.
I'm not biased, I waged Hopkins to beat Taylor, when Taylor clearly won, I put my hand up and said yeah, Taylor won. And Winky clearly won this fight.
by the way bro, i wasnt trying to come off rude if i did.
Nope.
Throwing a million punches does not equal winning a fight. Did you see that statistics? Winky landed damn near 50% of what he threw while Soliman was about 15%.
And you have stated that you are a fan of Soliman. Perhaps it is you who is biased.
