Not to take anything away from Pacman, but it seems to me that Morales has well passed his prime.
He lost to Barrera. He struggled to beat Pacman who had been thoroughly outboxed by JMM. He lost to Raheem. He lost to Pacman.
Morales needs some rest.
no he is not past his prime....pac just fought with a good stragety and that was takin it to the body and won the fight....morales didnt think he would be that tired cause he didnt fight someone as good as pac to KO morales...i couldnt beilive it.. lol he is not past his prime..he still has it...pac was very hungry and threw alot of punches!!!
props to pac
I been saying it for a while that Morales is near the tail-end. But it by no way means that Pac's accomplishment is diminished. Morales is a living legend, never tasted the canvas, and while that wasnt a prime Morales, that version of Morales that lost to Manny woulda probably still beat 98% of all superfeatherweights and given them hell.
i just don't see how you can look at any fighter and say there are way past their prime before their even in their 30s..
Fernando Vargas for one?
It's easy to see when someone's "best" days are behind them. It's not as much age as it is "miles on the engine". It's the wear and tear of the big fights, the wars and slug-fests that make fighters that aren't that old age-wise appear much older than what they are.
So many people even say with Arturo Gatti that had McGirt not started training him who knows where he'd be and that no one expected to see him still fighting at his age.
Wait is this the same Barerra who when he beat Morales said thanks to his face then started talking shit about him after he left the ring? I'm not even sure that this was the case, but what I have read, so please correct me if I am wrong.
morales always started the crap talking between them. mab started the violance out side the ring tho
Welcome here POGI! Enjoy your stay!
As for Morales ...he won't change opening his mouth coz he's one of the better known arrogant boxers in the bizniz. He even claimed to be better than Salvador Sanchez and JCC.(see Ring magazine interview). This is why I like Barrera better.....like Pacquiao is humble and a gentleman.

HAHAHAHA FOR MORALES......
ya know, sometimes (or always as i think), a boxer SHOULD BE TALKING LESS FROM HIS MOUTH than his hand does. I watched the pre-interview of morales saying that:
1. PAC is not a so-called "boxer" because of his overaggressiveness
2. Morales rated pacman as "5 out of 10" rating as a boxer and claims that he does not have the BALLS of being a boxer, and....
3. MORALES UNDER-ESTIMATED PACMAN just because he got over him the last pac-morales fight....
after the pac-morales2 battle: Tables turned...
I think morales' loss is a lesson to every boxer that had been in top curtains... NEVER EVER EVER EVER EVER UNDERESTIMATE YOUR OPPONENT.... many boxers feels they would kill every opponent having their belt and their rank... no it's not.... Manny exudes a light colored CHAMP because of his modesty in every fight and has his feet still buried on the ground besides the fame, ranking, belts and whatsoever... THis makes a champ more DEADLY AND FEARLESS.....
TO MORALES: i think you should go over and over to your Pac-morales2 fight and see the mistakes you've been in to.... I know he is a strong fighter but TALKING TOO MUCH seems inappropriate for a well known three time world champion....
well cant tell you. im not part of his fanbois. bad style maybe he still got schooled. pacman fans try to say that when he lost to morales he was unfocuse you aggree with that?
i thought so.......
i thought Morales fanbois said that Raheem was just bad style fo Morales and it wouldn't matter once he fights Pacquiao? WTH happende?

I just watched both fights this afternoon.
One after another.
After watching Morales/Pacquiao II, I think there's no need for a rematch.
Morales was holding his own early, but Pacquiao shut him out later on.
I never saw Morales trying to get away like that.
Pacquiao beat his ass.
have you heard of getting old over nite? he got old againts raheem and some how jumped back to good condition againts pacman. he lost i wont take nothing from pacman tho couse even in the first fight he was returning every punch. he looked good even tho he lost not many people can do that

exactly. when Morales won a close fight gainst Pac 115-113, they said Morales is at his best ever been, ready to compete wit Diego Corrales etc....

i have followed eriks entire career so none of you are going to tell me any different...erik is definitely past his prime.
still a great win for pacman.
I agree, Ive seen more than just the Morales/Raheem, Morales/MAB, and Morales/Pac fights, unlike some of the others. I agree that EM does not have the fire that he once posssesed.
Most of the fighters who has been KOed by Pac suddenly becomes past his prime. :D

Hell yeah! Hes washed up.
Its pretty obvious he is. His prime came at 122 when you can make a case for him being the greatest ever at that weight.
but I mean come on back to back embarresing losses. Morales was shut out and dominated by Zahire Raheem just months agao fro christ sakes.
That's my point too. He lost to Barrera. He struggled to beat Pacman who had been thoroughly outboxed by JMM. He lost to Raheem. He lost to Pacman.
