Gamboa would beat him. Juanma's last two fights show that he is very easy to hit and the guys that tagged him weren't anywhere near the speed and power of Gamboa. Would be a great fight but i see Gamboa KO him.
All i have to say is thanks for posting the real facts to one of the most widely repeated misconceptions in boxing. Its funny that people who hate Mayweather refuse to read the facts and statements made by Arum which clearly states the reasons why Mayweather vs Margorito did not happen and it had nothing to do with him being afraid of Margorito at all. The article also highlights the reason why he has so much animosity towards Mayweathers success without him. Great post.
The pound for pound title has no specific formula and is strictly based on opinions and your like or dislike for a specific fighter, fighting style etc so everyones opinions on the subject will differ. This is my take on it:
Mayweather today is ranked #2 P4P and only lost the #1 P4P rank when he retired. In his last fight he beat Marquez who was ranked #2 at the time when Mayweather fought him. Mayweather is now going to fight Shane Mosely who is ranked #3 on the P4P list.
Pac in his last fight was ranked #1 P4P and beat Cotto who was ranked #17 P4P at the time. Pac is now about to fight Clottey who is currently ranked #34 on the P4P rankings.
If both fighters win their respective fights keep in mind that Mayweather would have beaten the #2 and #3 P4P fighters in the world back to back while Pac would have beaten the #17 and # 34 P4P fighters in the world back to back. I would give Mayweather the nod to become the #1 P4P fighter in the world if both fighters win their next respective fights.
I like Manny and all but there is no way he can retire without first fighting Mayweather. As great as he is, it will haunt him for the rest of his life. It won't change his status as an all time great but will be a blemish in his book. Before it was Floyd who needed him on his resume but now they both need each other for their legacy's granted that they both win their next fights.
Floyd will beat Mosley. Pac will fight Margarito. Floyd will fight Berto.
Agreed except for the Berto part. They both have the same advisors so Berto is pretty much out of the question.
FMJ will come into his "supposed" fight with Mosely, running scared and unwilling to trade with him...you heard it here first
Since when did trading become the only requirement for boxers. Some of you guys i swear just started watching boxing since Pac beat Dela Hoya.
Then why so much chatter over something that isnt happening?
The entire swarm seems to be uneasy because they arent sure if they want to paint Shane Mosley as an unstoppable World-Beater, or an old geezer(if Floyd accepts).
They cant decide how to treat Mosley until there is a definitive decision on whether the fight with Mayweather is a go or not. Thats what I think, but its only fair that I ask you personally to see if Im off base.
That is an accurate statement. If Mayweather doesn't fight Mosely then they will say how Mosley is the best welterweight next to Pac and Floyd ducked him but if Mayweather accepts and wins then Mosley is an old man past his prime.
It's fair when Pac weight drains people and then gets BELTS for it even though the belt weights are greater than the contract fight weight. Cause he's special and stuff.
I guess so man because the things that they give him major passes for other athletes would be crucified for.
Pac never agreed period no matter how try to spin it he did not agree to the random drug tests especially in the 30 days leading up to the fight. Also while Mayweather did come in over the weight of the catchweight fight with marquez, the fight with pac isn't a catchweight fight and mayweather has never came in above the 147 lb limit when the fight is for that weight. So your points null and void.
Its not even close, Cotto does. Hatton should never step in the ring again. Anyone who loses to hatton at this stage should not be boxing for a living.
If Pacquiao loses a decision, Manny will just sue the judges, petition to have the referee fired, and lead a boycott against the Dallas Cowboys.
Add Arum, Ariza and Roach to that list. Hell he might even sue Mayweather again just for making him dream about needles and random testing within 30 days leading up to the Clottey fight.
Did Marion Jones ever test positive for steroids when she was competing in the Olympics?
No she didn't but thats because the testing procedures they were using back then weren't on par with the designer drugs they were using back then, let her try to do it now with the testing procedures that are in place.
Julio Cesar Chavez disagrees with you.
The thing you're not getting is this,
I'm not against better standards at all. But I'm not going to act like its been a major thorn in my fanship because quite frankly, even as other boxers have been caught, its never been a major issue to me.
My problem stems from the timing of
a. the accusations made
b. the demands made because of the accusations
where the accusations are coming from in regards to a fighter who has a history of making excuses of why he shouldn't fight certain people
c. the way the whole issue was approached.
d. the representatives of said fighter steadfastly refused this type of testing when the shoe was on the other foot.
Again, if boxing itself proceeds to follow through with more stringent testing, I'm all for it.
But don't come at me and say its about the fairness of the sport when the fighter the demands are coming from, hasn't been fair to his opponent in just his last fight, and said fighter has a history of excuses pertaining to certain fighters.
And Pac is the holy grail of boxing that is so FAIR to his opponents by weight draining them and having them put up their belts at weight limits that the belts aren't for smh.
Why didn't she?
Because the testing procedures being used then weren't up to par with the designer drugs that were used back then. That situation has changed dramatically since then.
All the quotes in the world from writers in favor of Floyd and Manny proves nothing at all. They are just opinions from people who either like, dislike or are unbiased to both fighters. The only thing that can prove anything is Manny taking the tests and getting it on in the ring with Mayweather. End of story.
Agreed and this the man the Pac stans call a crackhead smh. Atleast he thinks on his own, Manny can't think a lick outside of Arum and Roach. Together they make the 3 stooges look like rocket scientists.
Blood-testing is not a problem for Mosley but i believe Floyd wont demand that. Floyd will demand a junior welterweight fight bcoz Floyd believes that Mosley will be drained at 140.
*Peace
Floyd already said all his fights from here on out are going to require random olympic style testing. Mosley said he would agree to it. They arleady said the fight would be at welterweight not Junior welterweight.
You are fired
Peace
