Is it better to be battered and beaten for 20+ rounds to a pulp.
Or stopped before taking massive damage.
To me Hatton seems like he should have more left but I think mentally he may be weaker than Cotto at this point. Also Cotto seems to take better care of his body while Hatton abuses his. Too bad we didnt get to see them face off when they were upcoming at 140.
Still I wouldnt rule out a match between them. Would be a pretty big fight.
Thoughts?

hell no......i dont even think hatton could beat judah prime for prime......cotto>>>>>judah any version..
cotto is overrated hes better than hatton but prime judah would kill cotto.
I hope Cotto doesn't retire because I'd really like to see a rematch between him and Mosely.
On topic though, definately Cotto is a better fighter and I believe he has more in the tank than Hatton. He did take ALOT of punishment in the Margarito and Pacquiao fights... however, taking 20+ rounds of punishment and getting brutally KO'ed could have the same consequences. I don't know which one I'd rather choose, but I think Cotto has the ability to bounce back more than Hatton.
Its not even close, Cotto does. Hatton should never step in the ring again. Anyone who loses to hatton at this stage should not be boxing for a living.

I was wondering the same thing myself. Jury's out
Once he gets back into a win streak, he'll take all the words back..
Dunno, he seems pretty damn serious about retiring, plus hes being planning retirement at 30 for a long time. I hope you are right & he will keep on giving us great fights. :boxing:
Good question! Cotto hasn’t looked the same since Margarito, I mean mentally not physically. Hatton on the other hand doesn’t exactly ‘live right’ between fights, who’s to say how he is mentally? Added to that Cotto seems really big at WW, where Hatton didn’t look so good. I’d go with Cotto and it’s a fight I would pay to see.
how are people saying cotto is done!!
Back to quetion..cotto has physically more left in him
hatton mentallyDunno. Seems like if you lose a fight these days your no good anymore. Resting during these months and setting up a good training camp will go a long way at helping Cotto's career and setting up for success after this loss.
Prime 4 Prime @ 140 Hatton beats cotto.....Prime Cotto IMO was at 147 not 140. Either way Cotto > Hatton. Coming as a fan of both men no version of Hatton takes Cotto.
I have to agree with a lot of the posters and go with Cotto. When you look at the facts I'm not sure Hatton can even get down to his comfortable weight of 140, so he'll be swimming with the sharks at 147. Cotto has taken some abuse in his fights, but even after the brutal Clottey fight he came in looking great against Pacquiao physically. Hatton won't come in looking a good as he did at 140 at 147.

hmmm prime Hatton vs prime Judah would have been interesting
I would say Cotto physically and hatton mentally. Everyone has already argued for who has better physical health.
Cotto's last fights he started well but he wasnt able to change tactics or push through to complete the fight.
I think Hattons still believes he has a shot of becoming a champ again, even though he has had his arse knockout twice.
Miguel Cotto for sure. Hatton is overrated and always was. He's tough and can bang but he's too one dimensional. Cotto showed me in the Pacquaoi fight that he still has the ability to fight a few more recognizable names.
Cotto is the better fighter but Hatton has more left. Cotto has been in more tough fights lately than Hatton. I don't feel Hatton has taken the beatings Cotto has.
