Anything is possible but in a typical fight, no I don't think that Mayweather would knock him down.
And on the flipside I would say out of 10 fights Mosley only knocks Mayweather down 4 times. He's not an easy guy to hit.
“Middle area” huh? So let me ask you this, after he closed the distance of this “middle area” where did he end up? Don’t answer I’ll do it for you, the INSIDE…
Sharp punches to the body combined with uppercuts is where’s he set up the KO to close the show, therefore inside fighting was (through closing the distance) in many ways could be argued his forte.
Tyson also connected before his opponents got off their shots, Tua through looping left hooks you don’t think Tyson would connect first before Tua landed? Come on man just watch Tua’s style and you’ll get my point….
Not only that but if you remember when Tyson used his peek a boo style like an art, he would duck the wild left hook, and come up with a left hook packing easily as much power as Tua's, if not more.
Tua would throw that hook so wildly that he would lose his footing a lot when he didn't connect.
tyson was not a slugger. he was a very offensive boxer puncher but he was no slugger even though he can at times slug.
You're confusing "brawler" with "Slugger."
Tyson was a hell of a slugger. One of the best sluggers of all time.
Tua gets KO'd in the early rounds.
And I'm not saying that because Tyson is my favorite boxer; he's my favorite boxer for his ability to decimate any man you put in front of him during his prime, including David Tua.
i forgot how idiotic tyson fans could be.
i just remembered how tyson nuthuggers before were like the mayweather nuthuggers of now.
tyson was great but he wasn't invincible.
tua could beat him and even if he does beat tua , it wouldn't be easy.
Show me a fight where Tua shows half the speed, combinations, two hand punching power, and evasiveness of Tyson, and I'll agree.
I have 30+ Tyson fights showing why he's the baddest man on the planet.
Tua is known purely for his left hook. And do you know why? Because it's all he had. He's not on Tyson's level, get over it.
That's why Tyson is ranked #14 on the top 50 heavyweights of all time, and Tua didn't make the list.
Why does this make you so angry?
yeah and most of the time when he got inside , he was more than happy to let the other guy clinch so they can restart it again.
tyson is a great fighter but you guys give him too much credit.
tua head to head , prime for prime either ko's tyson or makes him quit.
Well your poll speaks for itself. I wouldn't be surprised if you have 5 accounts on this forum outside of the one you're using here and voting for Tua.
In all honestly, Tua in his prime reminds me of Tyson when he was washed up and not serious. A great fighter, but not on prime Tyson's level.
I think you underestimate Tyson's incredible ability. Nobody likes Tyson for his attitude. They love him for what he did in the ring. Just get over it man.
This is a stupid question. I'm starting to buy into the entire "pac-tard" thing and I'm a huge Pac fan.
It is what it is. He's a great fighter, but his defense isn't the greatest. Floyd is the best defensive fighter in boxing now, and probably one of the best of all time.
If you think Pac has a better D just cause you're filipino, or because you're a fan of him, and only him (not a boxing fan, just a pac fan), you're straight DELUSIONAL.
If Cotto (who I believe is over rated after the pac fight) knew how to follow up after a nice jab, he'd have beat Pacquiao. He knocked Pac's head back a lot during the fight, but couldn't follow up. You rarely see Floyd getting his head jacked the way Pacquiao does.
Pac is a much better offensive fighter, but I'm sure Flomo's would argue that Floyd is better, so I guess it's the same.
It is what it is. One has great D. One has great O. Take it for what it is, and leave your loyalty behind.
There shouldn't be a blood test. I think Manny refused a blood test for PBF strictly on principle. If Manny really wanted to fight Mayweather he should have just done it. He should have done whatever Mayweather asked so that there was no way Mayweather could get out of the fight, and to silence the steroid accusation. Manny put himself in a position where many boxing fans are speculating he's a roider, and many everyday people who catch a glimpse of the news think he's a roider. People aren't really talking about what a great fighter he is, they're talking about his link to steroids (whether there is one or not).
Manny put himself in this position, not Floyd. If I were Manny, and I weren't on any drugs, I would submit to the testing. Hell, if I were Manny, I'd fight Mayweather for free if it were the only way to make the fight happen.
I do believe Floyd is using this as a cop out. He has a bad reputation for ducking good fighters. If Floyd believed he could beat Manny, this fight would be happening. The fact that he called for unheard of requirements tells me he's scared. He has never impressed me in any fight. He's not an exciting champion; he doesn't destroy people in spectacular fashion like Pacquiao does. The only great fighter he ever took on was an old Oscar (an Oscar that Pacquiao annihilated)- and he ran the entire time and got a decision that he shouldn't have. I wanted my money back.
He likes to bring up how Manny has lost and that means that Manny can be easily beat, and how his perfect record means that nobody has figured out how to beat him. Well lets look at the people Manny's fought - guys like Barrera, Morales, Marquez.
Now look at Floyds fights and tell me who, other than De La Hoya and Marquez, is a great fighter, that he beat.
Floyd cares more about his record than being a real champion.
Valero is a true warrior. He will never run away from a fight because of a teaspoon of blood.
Dont worry he won't have to, as far as I know he can't fight anywhere in the US but Texas. He's probably all juiced up and fighting in venezuala without any testing.
27w + 27 kos
Edwin is definitely BADASS!
He's fought 25 journeyman scrubs, a decent fighter in Pilatua, and one overhyped Demarco that took him 10 rounds.
I don't hate this guy, but all this bullshit is making me want to see him step in with a real world class fighter just to see him get his shit rocked so that everybody will stfu about how great he is.
are just accusations and assumptions. no matter how much flomos and others twist it, it all leads to accusing or assuming and that's all there is to it, there's no proving it. for those who believe he's on it, keep assuming, coz that's all you're doing. but yeah im just saying, and here, suck on this :bottle:
you can't prove it when the guy won't take a test.
Of course there's truth to that statement. To be honest though I don't think Mayweather needs to fear Cotto. I think he could TKO Cotto or take an easy UD.
That was a stupid statement. 25 is late to start, but I don't think it's too out of the ordinary to believe that Pac has better training, nutrition, and conditioning now that he's a superstar.
Hell yes, I love Sugar Shane. I can't wait for this fight, I hope Mosley can take it to him and gets more big fights. I can't believe after the career he's had that he's just now getting a big fight like this.
power is mostly upperbody with very little to do with your legs
Are you trollin' or what bro? No offense, but the majority fo the power comes from the legs.
What the hell does this have to with Boxing?
And Floyd's been paid the IRS back from what I hear.
Because I believe this is the only reason he came back to boxing.
He can't live another 10 years of his lifestyle without fighting.
And I forgot to mention the IRS thing. He owed 8 mil in back taxes.
Other than pure speculation based on misinformation, half-truths and lies.
What concrete evidence do you have of this - as a matter of fact do you live in Vegas, do you work at the bank where Floyd keeps his money ...
What I'm getting at is what position are you in, that gives you unhindered access to the bank account, investment portfolio's and financial records of Floyd Mayweather Jr.
If you're not in such a position - then you're going by the BS you read. Which just diminished both you and your post to the level of total and complete BS.
It's just something I read in an article.
I didn't hide the fact that I was speculating. I'm just stating my theory based on what I've read.
He's missing payments. He owes the IRS. His home deal fell through. He sold off all his toys, which he states in the interview above.
so what.. not all Filipinos families are the same..
Also I have a Mexican coworkers and all he talks about is Mexican fighters.. I also have a Black friend and all he talk about is Black fighters..
See where i'm going with this...
I didn't say they were all the same. Read the first sentence "From my experience." That's it.
In my opinion though, I do believe that when it comes to the overall sport of boxing, many Filipino's are only Manny fans, not boxing fans. They're not going to buy a Floyd or Oscar fight on ppv, but they're go to the bar to watch Manny.
He is a culture superstar. I'm not hating on him or Filipino's, I'm just stating my opinion.
If you remember in the 80's, Tyson had millions of fans, most of which weren't actual boxing fans, but they would watch all of his fights.
I'm positive there are many Filipino's out there that love all boxing but I'm afraid the majority of them do not care about anything else that goes on in the sport, or any of the other top contenders. I've talked to people that when we talk about boxing, they talk about Manny like he's a god, that's why you can't have a conversation with them. They're die hard Manny fans, not boxing fans.
Not all, but a lot.
Here's the thing dude ..... are you here to troll or to talk boxing???
That's the whole thing in a nutshell.
I would ask how much money you got .... but that has nothing to do with boxing.
Trolling? You come on name calling because I made a stupid thread about Mayweather needing money? Come on, dude, get a clue. Nobody talks about boxing in this forum anyway. If you look through 5 pages of threads we might be able to pull up 5 threads that actually talk about boxing, and isn't the same repetitive "Manny's on roids" "Floyd's a ducker" and "Valero is the best thing to happen to boxing ever" threads.
You just wanted to talk shit, and now you're calling me a troll?
Put that bottle down.:alcoholic
From my experience, most Filipino's aren't boxing fans. My GF is half Filipino and her dad doesn't watch any boxing outside of Manny. All the men in her family are the same way.
And me being Mexican is annoying sometimes because they all talk that "Mexicutioner" bullshit.
I can understand your reply .... but when you're not in a position to know for sure and you put something like this out there, than you're setting yourself to be called every name in the book ..... because you're relying on second information that may be and could be seriously flawed.
Use your fortitude and make your own conclusion based on what I said. Very rarely is any article first hand proven fact information. It's 20% fact, 80% speculation and opinion.
Why so butt hurt?
