I'm sure most of you guys remember Shane saying this live on ESPN with Brian Kenny. Is there some truth in this statement? The general consensus is Floyd avoided Cotto after fighting Hatton, would floyd have fought Winky or Forrest? Or would he have said what he said about fighting Cotto after the Hatton fight...
"Ima retire from boxing, Boxing isn't gonna retire me"
What's your take?
Would Floyd fight any one of these guys given the proper circumstances? Or would he have used excuses to not fight? (Promoters fault, no money, fighter has a loss, fighter has no fans and so forth)
He makes a good point.
Forrest and Winky are bad Mofos.
But its been said.
Floyd most likely beats Cotto easily.
Win or lose, Mosely did face "the best" at their respective time. Forrest and Winky were monsters when Mosely took those fights.
Cotto too was highly regarded when Mosely faced him...but I hate to say this...Floyd should have fought AT LEAST Cotto...because at that time (respectably) Cotto was a force to be reckoned with, regardless of any fan saying Floyd can beat the brakes off cotto.
So win or lose...Mosely has faced better caliber opposition IMO. I think Mosely has a strong argument.
if you think winky will beat floyd... log off this site and never log back in
2004 Winky that could have fought 154 or 160 very effectively? That was a top pfp fighter and had a ridiculous D and fast a$$ hard jab?
Pwill WInky was a little different my friend.

Can't say I agree, but I can tell you this; All of Mosley's loses came from fighters that Floyd would have a very good chance against, better then Mosley's chances against them anyways at least IMO."

Floyd will shit his pants if he ever get in the ring with Winky Wright or Vernon Forrest....even Cotto!!!

Why? Styles make fights and we havent seen these two together. Not that im saying Winky would win
I dont know about the others but Floyd didnt wanna get in the ring with margarito. He literally becomes paranoid when he sees or when someone talks about him!
too bad PR was a small country and he wasnt a draw..
but after pac vs cotto sold 1.5M buys, floyd was quick to say cotto was a huge draw and a great dance partner for pac:thinking:
Yea, it is annoying how much Floyd contradicts himmself.
He makes a good point.

We could've found out in 2008 :puppy_dog
Floyd would never step in the ring with Forrest or Winky
And the reality of it is, Shane should have never fought Forrest or Winky. I can admire his willingness to fight Forrest and Winky but it was bad business for his career and he took four losses against guys that wouldnt have elevated Shanes career if he had won. Shane fought Oscar at 147 and Shane should have fought Trinidad in a super fight after he beat Oscar in their first fight. Shane should have then fought Oscar in a rematch at 154 and then rematched Trinidad at 154. These 4 fights would have elevated Shane in the public, generated his highiest payads and would have given him title of the best fighter of this decade. Losing to Forrest and Winky twice was disasterous and he could have avoided them because nobody would have complained because he would have fought Oscar and Trinidad twice. I say all that to say, Floyd would have been wise not to fight Forrest and Winky. Floyd and Shane should have fought each other right after Shane would have fought Oscar and Trinidad twice. Think about that and think about the fact that even though Shane lost those fights to Forrest and Winky, Shane is still in position as the best Welteweight on the verge of a superfight against Floyd.
It is the truth, period!!Remember when Cotto beat Mosley,he was young prime & undefeated!!Anyone who believes Floyd beats any other elite,is pure speculation, that's a fact!!
Shane needs to shut up. He lost to Vernon Forrest TWICE. Ricardo Mayorga then beats Vernon TWICE immediatley after that.
Floyd would not lose to Vernon once muchless twice.
Vernon's entire career was built on his accomplishments against Shane Mosley. He lost to Mayorga and Sergio Mora (also should have lost to old ass Quartey).
Floyd would have made Vernon (RIP) look very basic and slow.
Of course there's truth to that statement. To be honest though I don't think Mayweather needs to fear Cotto. I think he could TKO Cotto or take an easy UD.
streetdiscple, bigpoppapump is the guy that post the articles for us to comment on.
Oh snap, is he the guy with the Mosley avatar right now, and the Click here links at the end of the summery of the story?? If so, he's good.
