Lol you basically proved me right, and yes we are paying for boxing fights so why the **** shouldn't we expect good fights. Pretty pathetic that you care for some stranger's health and money over your own bottom line. I don't wish any boxer harm, but this is a combat sport, pain and injury are part of the game, everyone who fights knows that going in or at least should know that. I wish it was earlier so I could reply to the rest of your idiotic rebuttals(I suppose because I have never been a mailman, I can't criticize one that does a bad job huh, gtfo with that stupid logic, and I have sparred) but it's late so I will leave it at that.
Your response showcases your intelligence or lack thereof. So you just like the rock em sock em action? Go watch tough man competitions, you obviously do not fight
I agree, he is obviously very skilled but he he gives so little of himself and basically does the very minimum to win fights. I could care less about him not taking damage, this is a brutal sport, if he was concerned about his health he should have retired.
The first Floyd fight I saw live was Cotto, which I really enjoyed, so I liked him at first(I think he took a risk with Cotto in the 12th which I haven't seen him do since then), but the more I learned about him the more I disliked him. I think you have to be a very dedicated fan to simply ignore all the ***** **** Floyd has done over the years, from the Ortiz KO, to his ducking, to the Maidana gloves situation, etc. I think the people who like him sympathize with him because if they were in the same position they would do the same thing(Money over Glory), but I think that's the wrong mindset for a fighter. Just my opinion.
For one how about you try stepping in the ring. All these overly critical fans never stepped foot in a ring and have no idea what it takes. No fighter should risk their health for idiotic fans who could care less for their health and won't pay their bills once their career is over. Going to talk about what the mind set of a fighter should be but never stepped in the ring against world class opposition smh.
Casual fans don't really understand boxing or understand what goes on behind the scenes.
Ortiz headbutt Mayweather several times, the last one was obvious and he apologized 5 times. After the first time, that's it, protect yourself. He's an idiot (Ortiz) and deserved to get koed.
Maidana's gloves had no padding in the knuckle area. He was obviously trying to do something and ended up fighting with the same gloves Mayweather fought with so there was no advantage for Mayweather.
Who has he ducked? He beat the guys that supposedly could beat him. One of them, (Pacquiao) got famous beating Mayweather leftovers at catch weights and beat guys like Brandon Rios and Chris Algieri lol. Ray Robinson didn't fight Charley Burley or anyone from the Murderers row but he's not a ducker. The reality is you can't fight everybody.
Across five weight classes, Mayweather has 26 world title fights and beat 23 current or former world champs, beat 2 guys that are currently in the hall of fame and beat atleast another 5 or 6 guys that will eventually be in the hall of fame.
The standard he is held to compared to everyone else is remarkable.
"But joe never lost"
This is the type of casual fan who sucks on fighter snuts when they are undefeated, which doesnt say much. F8cking Mayweather brainwashed alot of kids into thinking undefeated means something.... GTFOH Robinson lost 19 times and he is the true ATG (Ali can make a case too).
I rate joe top 900~ and Wlad top 40~
Have you even analyzed and dissected Ali's and Sugar's resumes? You watch any of their fights?
These two conned the boxing world for 5 years, then conned them even harder last weekend. This is just going to make every promoter and manager do the exact same sh*t because they know the fans won't care.
This is absurd. These guys didn't deserve paydays like this after everything they've done.
Shut the **** up. Stop crying, don't watch boxing then
if thats all you saw then ur not a boxing fan, how about the constant beating fighter B to the outside with a lead foot and circling to his right EASILY to throw off their attack... how about countering over a fighters strong hand and making them hesitate to throw it? A boxing fan would have noticed and appreciated it! Fighter A won the fight easily using basic techniques.... boxing techniques will take u a long way and should be appreciated by boxing fans!
He's not a true boxing fan
I knew you'd hate the others, but I thought you'd like Crawford.
How does Andre Ward's win over Paul Smith make him P4P #1?
Ward hasn't fought anybody decent in several years now.
LMFAO GGG hasn't fought anyone yet and he's old than Ward.
Good for Cotto.. He paid his dues, reap in the rewards and try to get the most money he can, because ultimately the fans don't fight for him and will give two ****s about him once he retires. Half you ****s criticizing never stepped in the ring or endured what fighters have to go through. Stop hating
The bold parts are... interesting. Give Jennings credit if you want, but Wlad looked awful nonetheless.
He didn't watch the fight. Jennings won a lot of rounds, Wlad looked terrible
Stop following boxing if you feel that way :boxing:
The event could have been better, but there has been much worse cards out there not only in boxing, but in other combat sports, hell all sports actually
Bayless is generally regarded as a good ref.
For those complaining about his interference in the Maidana-Mayweather fight, neglect the piss poor job weeks did in the initial fight, allowing Maidana to deliver mma moves, multiple low blows etc. Everything is conveniently left out if it's against the black fighter/promoter/manager/ref.
Bayless is a great ref, he jumped in too early at times in the 2nd Maidana-Mayweather bout but that was because of the bs Maidana pulled and did not want for there to be a repeat.
Too many casuals watch this sport
how old was floyd in his 12th pro fight? How old was floyd when he won his first championship? how old was rigo? rigo is in his 30's. hehas tons of amateur experience. he went a different path. amazing fighter, but its really a crappy comparison if u wanna go that route. by the time floyd was rigos age, he was a hofer. relax kid. drop your skirt.
You're wasting your time debating with idiots.
Had Marquez winning the first fight and the second although they were close fights.
Thought Marquez dominated the third fight.
I thought Marquez was losing the fourth fight before he scored the knock out
....while they dont want Ward to move to 175 and fight Kovalev?
Is there a double standard?
The same double standard that warrants Mayweather, Canelo and other prominent welters and junior welters to move up and fight GGG. Yet GGG gets a pass for fighting limited opposition.
I only give him a chance with VADA testing but there no VADA for this fight so.....

Yet he's the one working with Victor Conte
i wouldn't take these rumors seriously until cotto comes out and say it.
boxing rumors in puerto rico can be bad some time.
after the fight , puerto rican newspapers were spreading the rumors that cotto wasn't allowed to come in over 145 fight night which was complete bs.
marg is the better fight , more interesting fight and the bigger money even if it's outside the u.s.
that's why marg was chosen over cotto. besides cotto had just 1 fight after his beatdown against manny. he wasn't very competitive except in the beginning.
for the public to buy a pac-cotto rematch , cotto needs a big , high profile win first.
you have valid points, and we wont know what happened with the negotiations until Cotto says something himself.
But with the Pac/Margarito fight, it's bs too..
Margarito's last 2 fights..
Against Mosley, Marg was caught cheating before the fight, and got ktfo later that evening..
He's out for a year and comes back against some fringe contender in Roberto Garcia.. and now he gets to fight Pacquiao? thats lame.. and not only that, the weight limit is 154 and Margarito may have to weigh in at 150?
boxing is a circus
if cotto asked for the testing, good for him.. he's the one getting in the ring, he has the right to protect himself against fighters who may be cheating..
i honestly do not understand pacquiao.. if he is so pure and righteous and doesnt take peds, why refuse the testing? You could test me any day of the week i have nothing to hide, you would think a CLEAN fighter would have the mentality....
I didn't think the KD of AA in the 7th round was a KD, it was a push to me.
it seemed like a clear knock down to me.. AA got caught with a check hook and went falling into the ropes and would of fell if the ropes hadn't been there..
AA is a bitch regardless
Came from the respected boxing historians and analyst? Yes it is.
a guy that makes up stories like "sugar ray robinson jumped up 12 flights of stairs, ran through 3 walls, trapped lightning in a bottle and then went on to beat Jake Lamotta in the same night"
Bert just gets paid to say shit, he doesn't even know what he is talking about half the time.
Pac should redeem himself by taking the test
i will be.. me and few friends watched mayweather - marquez in a theater and it was a good experience.. pretty full theater, lots of trash talking, good stuff
martinez - pav and bute - miranda are going to be some lopsided ass whoopin's and i cant wait to see those..
i think the quitana-berto fight is going to be veeery interesting as well..
its unfortunate the cloud-johnson fight was called off because i think cloud would get koed
well yeah, i mean everybody has a punchers chance in mma.... the gloves are smaller, so toney will have more power, but if the fight did happen between him in courture, then i doubt randy would stand-up with him.....
the gloves are pretty much the same as far as impact, gloves are smaller but still the same.. but to the point i agree toney has a puncher's chance.. but toney doesnt train, he isn't dedicated and is a fatty and will probably lose to either couture or nelson which is sad
all ariza is a steroid provider.. that is all.. Pacquiao and his team, Arum, Roach they all know if Pac ever decides to face Mayweather he is going to be in trouble, thats why he is avoiding mayweather but trying to save face by talking hella shit.. they're clowns, go continue to fight stationary punching bags like margarito
Floyd did though. Without blood tests
Am I right or wrong?
Floyd won the fight with oscar 9 rounds to 3..
did you really want to see a rematch? there wasn't much demand for the fight, and floyd would of been crucified for taking the rematch and you know that.
plus from what i remember, the fight was to be held at 147, a weight division oscar hadnt been at in years, oo wait the same weight oscar fought pacquiao at.. would you really wanna see that?? Floyd vs a dehydrated zombie de la hoya? GTFOH
