Firstable, I'd like to congratulate Floyd on an amazing career and wish him all the best. He's the best fighter of this era, every unbiased boxing fan knows that.
With that said, who's gonna take over his spot as P4P number 1?
Andre Ward?
Sergey Kovalev?
Roman Gonzales?
Wladimir Klitschko?
Gennady Golovkin?
Guillermo Rigondeaux?
Or maybe somebody else?
Vote and discuss :boxing:
If Klitschko beats Fury at nearly age 40, to be fair we should consider him P4P #1.
Kovalev would be my choice right now, but it's close.
Golovkin, Gonzalez, Crawford and Brook are just a couple of wins away from going to the top of the list.
Brook? Not even close
I saw another poll that had Golovkin and Ward above Klitschko. I voted for Wlad in that poll as well, who gets it by default because the others have more recent resume issues.
I think Ward is the best fighter in the world even when Floyd was active. Only thing is Floyd actually fought and Ward didnt really fight the last 2 years. So I cant vote for Ward because of that, I voted for Wlad because he has been the champ for so long.
Does it make you angry that two clinchers are 1-2 in this poll?
There's a reason he hasn't voted yet. The two fighters he hates the most have the most votes. He doesn't wanna face the music lol
Brook,Crawford nor GGG are anywhere close to p4p#1..
I would definitely say Crawford is near P4P status and there's no doubt in my mind he'll be up there soon.
Errol Spence will also be up there soon.
Ward should be the heir to the P4P crown but it's hard to rank somebody so inactive. Rigo would probably be there as well, but he's being black balled unfortunately. I guess Wlad by default, but I think Kovalev gets the spot if he can fight Stevenson and beat him. Gonzalez at number 1 is a boxing hipster's pick, blah.

Andre Ward? You have got to be joking what a disgraceful choice lol.
Ward would be #1 if he was actually fighting.
he is fighting but he's just fighting bums. he had a good run 4-6 years ago but he's not relevant anymore. why are people saying ward? he wouldn't even fight bute, stevenson, froch, or degale so how can you say he's #1? don't you have to do something instead of trying to fight truax, sartison, and zac dunn?
Voted Wladimir. I think the other fighters have arguments, but Klitschko has been at the top of heavyweight for so long, and if he beats Fury next week he's an unquestionable #1.
I would have given it to Ward if he'd been more active in the last two years, hard to credit Paul Smith as a win that gets him back to the top.
Yet you have Manny as #2? why?? and GGG top 5 ??/ why?
Manny beat Bradley just last year, which is a better fighter and higher ranked fighter than anyone Ward has fought.
easily ward,
wlad fights nothing but stumblebums and dont get it twisted, fury is nothing to get exited over, talk about a stiff non lateral moving slow as molasses type of opponent for him to hug
Ward fought Rodriguez and Smith his last 2 fights and drained a LHW the fight before. Povetkin alone is better competition than either of the fighters Ward has fought since the super 6.
Manny Pacquiao still most likely.
Ward hasn't done anything in so long that you just can't give him a spot even though he has the talent.
I can get behind Wlad just because he's been dominant for so long.
GGG and Gonzalez have elite talent but I don't think their resume is good enough ATM to be #1 (even though it's not their fault and that they'd been all elite fighters in their division and surrounding division).
Sergey could probably use a few more wins against elite fighters.
he has one of the best resumes of the past 10 years. try doing some research and actually watching his fights. he has been completely underrated for a long time.
after he KOs viloria he will easily be #2 imo. i have him #3 right now but after he easily KOs viloria he will propel to ATG status imo.
One of the best resumes in the last 10 years? Wtf he started 10 years ago :lol1:
What research? Come off your high horse buddy. He started in 2005, how does he have one of the best resumes in the last 10 years? Enlighten me, 10 years of beating such great fighters. 10 years is enough to name at least 10, so name 10 great fighters he beat. Go ahead, don't duck my question.
1. Wlad
2. Pacquiao
3. Kovalev
4. Roman Gonzales
5. Gennady Golovkin
6. Guillermo Rigondeaux
Not Rated: Andre Ward
You guys picking Ward must've forgot that he hasnt had a good win in several years. He might have been top 3 p4p a couple years ago but right now he is very far from it, or does fighting two times in three years and defeating Paul Smith and Edwin Rodridguez in that timeframe put you at the top spot?
If you put Ward at #1 then you can also put Roy Jones or Bernard Hopkins there, both are more accomplished than Ward and also still active. Shake my head those idiots.

they might as well put roy jones as #1. ward and jones are beating the same level of comp, yea they were good long ago but not anymore.
Yeah, but Roy is knocking them out.
