40-4-1 although anyone with common sense knows the loss against Ramirez was a fluke and the draw against Chavez was a fluke
7 time division champ in 4 weight classes
9 successful title defenses of the WBC welterweight title
Wins over 2 atgs: Azumah Nelson and Julio Cesar Chavez
24 out of of his 44 fights were world title fights
Beat 4 hall of famers:
Jose luis Ramirez x 2
Julio Cesar Chavez
Azumah Nelson
Greg Haugen (ended Hector Camachos unbeaten run after his loss to Whitaker)
Other notable wins:
Roger Mayweather
Buddy McGirt
Julio Ceasar Vazquez (who later on deafeated Winky Wright)
Wilfredo Rivera x 2
When a guy like Buddy McGirt x 2 is in your "notables" section, you know you have a great resume. He was one of the top P4P fighters in the 90s
I love Pernell but Floyd has this, the poll to me just says we overrate history to much.
History? it was just a little more then a decade ago that pernell fought
I'd pick Whitaker
Floyd will probably get more votes on here because 98% of posters have never seen Pernell fight and floyd is really popular now and undefeated but Pernell was something else
I hate it when \people try to discredit his wins over McGirt. He was one of the best P4P fighters during Pernells time
Right now it's Whitaker but not by that wide of a margin or anything. If Floyd beats Sergio or Pac, I think he'd get ahead of Pernell. I still consider Floyd around Top 30 ATG, but Pernell a bit higher.
Too many ifs
Time is flying by, it'd be nice if he fought them now, or one of them in '09
Canelo is well on his way to that...21 and getting paid more then a mil to be on an undercard fight
If he keeps developing at this rate, he will be a big star
Broner i dont know. The guy just comes off as mentally retarded]
his obsession with Mayweather is kinda weird IMO he was talking a whole bunch of sh1t about Gamboa too i think he's jealous
Did you hear him talking at a Floyd-Cotto presser? Or his twitter?
The guy has a screw missing

First time fighting professionally out of Argentina, Margarita wasn't highly regarded and he was undefeated. But he didn't know what the purse was but eventually came home with $900. He was just a working class kid who got worked by some ****ty managers.
His purse wasnt 24K
I think Quintana's purse was 25K and he opened up a PPV that sold 1.5 mil buys
At their level, a grand isnt far off
Wow..I'm shocked at the poll. NSB has more boxing knowledge than I expected.
This pool started heavily in Floyds favor actually
Im surprised it isnt a Floyd white wash actually
so how the hell was Nelson proven at lightweight????he is fucking 0-2
He was 32-1, prime and went up 5 pounds
U do know his 2nd loss at LW came 8 yrs after losing to Pernell at LW right
Bleacher report? Its guaranteed bullshiiit
All i've been reading is thats its very close to approved.
Anyways 168 is complete BS. Dawson is a big LHW and cuts like 15 pounds to make the limit
not even pacquiao is asking for 50/50 down the middle.
It doesnt matter that he said he'd take a smaller share or whatever that one time. It's been clear for years now that this fight isnt happening without 50/50 and rightfully so
This is a 50/50 fight, more so then Haye-Vlad but they got it done.
Its bout time
He's only 24 so still semi young and considered the best P4P amateur in the world
He has huge potential but i just have a feeling that he wont make it in the pro ranks
i disagree, the fighters purses are supposedly the last thing holding this fight up!!
No they are not, fighters purses have nothing to do with the money they generate
Their reports are bull if it's them only, but they had evidence from people from the RING that it's been approved for a WBC 168 lb title fight. I believe it, why not???
Nothing i've read at Ring says its approved
