Mayweather / Pacman are about to retire and your a promotor with the option to select 1 fighter with the potential to be the next ppv king. Who would you choose and why? Also keep in mind you have to guide his career and keep him winning.
I would probably pick Broner for 2 reasons
1) he has enough skill to win fights and build on hype
2) he unlikable and charismatic enough to where people will pay to see him lose
Amir Khan. He's young, he's pretty, and he's an exciting fighter. He also has that nice guy charm. Only thing I don't like is him being a sore loser, but that can change. He can draw the female fan base, and in boxing the loyal female fan base is crucial especially since a guy like Khan is more than not often to lose.
Broner is nothing like Floyd. Seriously the guy is half retarded he can't draw people in like Floyd. Floyd's main antagonistic point is 'Money' Mayweather, all Broner does is post pictures on twitter of himself taking a ****.
The next big star I guess would be Amir Khan, Gary Russell Jr. could be potentially because he is an exciting fighter, and the jury is still out on Wilder.
I would pick Broner as well, because he is going to say and do what ever he can to sale a fight
But it goes beyond "HIM ACTING LIKE MAYWEATHER, the guy has the talent in the ring to back it up: Speedy, Raw Boxing Skills (that are still developing and he has Power in Both Hands) so he can either out box you or knock you out
Gamboa is another guy, need to learn how to speak English though to be big in America
Kell Brook is another guy as well who I think has STAR POTENTIAL
and of course Jose Benavidez who I think WILL BE the next big thing in boxing!
Demetrius Andrade is another guy that is very marketable as well, another athletic Freak with BOXING SKILLS AND POWER!
Canelo is well on his way to that...21 and getting paid more then a mil to be on an undercard fight
If he keeps developing at this rate, he will be a big star
Broner i dont know. The guy just comes off as mentally retarded]
his obsession with Mayweather is kinda weird IMO he was talking a whole bunch of sh1t about Gamboa too i think he's jealous
Did you hear him talking at a Floyd-Cotto presser? Or his twitter?
The guy has a screw missing
Boner?
Are you serious? Just because he wants to be like Floyd so bad doesn't mean he's going to be a PPV king. Floyd has the personality and skills to go with his self made character. People forget Floyd was a real humble dude and nice guy before he started selling his Money Mayweather character to the public.
I don't see the little guys dominating the next era of boxing from a marketing standpoint.
It's very very rare to see back to back eras dominated by small guys without a true Heavyweight superstar.
I think they need a real breakout star when the Klitsko's step down
Canelo is well on his way to that...21 and getting paid more then a mil to be on an undercard fight
If he keeps developing at this rate, he will be a big star
Broner i dont know. The guy just comes off as mentally retarded
Adrien Broner hands down. The guy will have so many people that dislike him, want to see him lose, and will draw people in much like Floyd ended up being able to do.
he can do great at 154 and even if he losses as long as there competitve fights he can still be a PPV cash cow like oscar
he has the potential to be a cross over star just based off his looks and Mexico fan base
That's legit. Jose Aldo a badass
DLH rarely won big fights. So thats false.
Who wants PPV anyways. Give me a network star.
You would prefer network money to ppv money if you were a top promotor?
as opposed to someone who got a gift decision against ponce fuccen de leon
:bryce:
Was seriously asking your opinion and curious to see what you thought regarding how far his skill could take him
If were talking about revenue generated than it would have to be Canelo and JCC JR
If I had to choice which one would generate more than it would be tough but I say Top Rank and its because they are the better promoters imo
