Pacquiao fought Jan. 19th and Thurman is fighting one week later on Jan. 26th.
Porter is fighting Ugas on March 9th, and Spence is fighting Garcia one week later on March 16th.
It would make sense for Pacquiao and Thurman to fight, and then Spence and Porter can fight.
Then, we could finally get Thurman vs Spence in early 2020 with 3 belts on the line. With the winner fighting Crawford for the Undisputed title in late 2020.
I hope this is the plan. However, I think Thurman will fight Pac and then Porter before Spence. He keeps talking about having two belts before "negotiating" the fight with Spence and he has first right to call the fight with the WBC
Hearn at the same event have an interview to seckbach and blueblood and stated the following offer has been given to wilder.
60/40 in Joshua's favour with a 15 million dollar guarantee for wilder.
2 way rematch clause with fight 2 in USA.
If wilder loses.. fight 2 is 70/30 in AJ's favour.
If wilder wins.. 50/50 in his favour.
That offer has been upped from an original 65/35 all other things the same.
Crickets
IF true, thats a fair deal. But I dont even for a second believe that either sides have had any intention on following any script other than the below:
AJ/Whyte
Wilder/Fury2
AJ/Miller (In US)
Wilder/Breazeale
*in 2020: AJ/Wilder.
Surely they'll settle at closer to 55/45 or closer. No way they let it go to pursebids. Although that would be hilarious if Dazn got it. Imagine how smug Hearn would be. My goodness
Imagine if Arum/ESPN got it...
Like who? people always make these threads, but never give realistic examples of who these guys should fight (while considering the schedules/boxing politics)
Not many guys out there that could make the April 12 date so might as well unify and collect another belt while getting paid
Sept 19th?? Thought i read somewhere Manny has to be back in the Philippines for Senator duty by then and his next fight has to be by june/july (hopefully vs Thurman)
Horn is a has-been who won't sell a ticket outside of the US.
Can he even make 147 anymore ?
Horn will sell a ticket in the US?!?! I think you mean Australia
Beat me to
I honestly believe Whyte signed already and all of this back and forth is the build up and hype
Like anyone would put Whyte up there with Fury or Wilder other than fast Eddie
Exactly. And Miller is already signed for the next fight @ Barclays. Just like Breazeale is basically already signed after Wilder/Fury2
That was the entire point lol. Those casuals who watch both MMA and boxing. How can you say this PPV didn't lose any buys to those that chose to watch the big UFC card instead?
I had the UFC ESPN+ on my laptop streaming but wasnt really paying attention since I dont really care about UFC, but the main fights were over by the time Pac-Broner started
It’s going to be Errol Spence. This was the plan all along. Pacquiao already said he wants the Spence-Garcia winner and that’s what Haymon was planning all along. To make Spence the next star. Thurman and Porter will fight if Thurman doesn’t disappear again.
Problem is the calendar doesnt line up for Pac/Spence. Its perfect for Pac/Thurman because Pac cant fight the 2nd half of the year due to Senator duties.
But when no one in the top 10 (minus joyce on WilderFury2) will fight him, what is he supposed to do? Its a stay busy fight and he is getting paid which is what the old man needs
Whyte made an offer and Ortiz turned it down. Get your facts straight.
He was never going to fight him regardless. Eddie wouldnt have allowed it. Didnt answer the question, since all those are out of the picture (including Whyte) who should Ortiz fight now? Im not saying this is a good fight, but its understandable why Ortiz wants a paycheck
He should be calling all the top contenders looking for fight. His manager is always complaining about people not contacting him, but he has the time to contact these bums for fights.
It's not just him most fighters are taking the approach of fighting bums until they get a big money title shot. **** needs to stop.
Who is he supposed to fight? Wilder/Fury are busy, AJ wont mention him, Joe Joyce Calls him out and it'll probably happen on Wilder/Fury2, Whyte wont fight him even after calling him out and Ortiz accepting, Brezeale doesnt want to lose his mandatory spot. No good options left. He stays busy and gets paid
Thurman is the WBA Champ. Period. He is "active" now with the Lopez fight and I expect (hope) him to fight Pac next. Im a big fan of Keith, but if he doesn't fight Pac or Porter next, I'm done. We need to get rid of the WBAs 50 ridiculous secondary "title" belts
Good start for the FS1 cards. Lead in off of big FOX with the NFL definitely helped (also with a college game right after which is why the post fight was cut short). Lets see if they can keep this up. Great job with all the shoulder programming so far
