Loma Needs To Step It Up

Who does he need to fight in your opinion? I'd be interested in the answer. Davis is out because he's scared. Berchelt hasn't moved up yet though I think that will happen this year (and Loma will be criticized by OP for it just like when he said he thinks Pedraza may beat Loma) and Berchelt has a pointless re-match scheduled (which he's not being criticized for). Mikey is with PBC and is fighting Spence at 147. Easter? LOL. He's mediocre at best and has no belt so with certain fighters unwilling (Davis) or unavailable (Berchelt and Garcia) then the best thing to do is unification fights and after that mandatory I guess. OP ain't criticizing Spence or Crawford. Mainly it's a hypocritical stance because he doesn't like the way Lomachenko looks.

Davis didn't want none of Lomachenko when they were both at 130 lbs so it is what it is.

Like who? people always make these threads, but never give realistic examples of who these guys should fight (while considering the schedules/boxing politics) Not many guys out there that could make the April 12 date so might as well unify and collect another belt while getting paid

And what I hate the most is an obviously talented guy, maybe a once in a lifetime guy, taking all the fights we DON'T want to see. Crolla? Dude is going to fight Crolla? OK, I'll just say it...Loma is aiming low and it is hurting whatever legacy he is trying to build. His last opponent got KTFO by Gervonta, yet goes 12 with Loma. The opponent before that had Loma on his arse before Vasyl was able to stop him in 10...yet 8 months later that same opponent gets wrecked in one round by a fighter that is average for a pro. The fight two bouts before was an obvious mismatch, yet he still never seriously hurt a guy two weightclasses smaller. Loma needs to stop the BS and FIGHT SOMEBODY!!! And by that I mean Easter Jr., Campbell, or Mikey (assuming there's enough of him left after Spence gets thru destroying him). What you are saying is that Loma sucks. You are saying Loma is not a good fighter at all. You are saying he can't KO a guy little Tank easily KOed and he got knocked down and struggled to beat a guy average Cano crushed in one round. If Loma is as lousy as you say he is what difference does it make if he steps up to better fights or not? He might as well retire and make room for better fighters if he is as bad as you say he is.

The Linares fight was razor close and Campbell may have a style more suited to give Loma trouble than Linares. Gervonta didn't duck Loma, he simply acknowledged needing more fights. He never said he didn't want the fight eventually and he has indeed called for Loma his last few outings. The huge problem I don't think folks are seeing is that Loma only fights 2 or 3 times a year. He is going to fight in April- the Crolla fight will be his second fight of the year taking place sometime in the summer. Crolla and probably Commey is who he is fighting this year sop far. That being said, is it not right for that third fight to be Mikey, or Bunny, or Davis? Why are we continuing to accept ordinary and mediocre from what is supposed to be one of the best in the world? I had to laugh when I read that. What has happened since the time when Gervonta needed more fights? Who has he fought since then to prepare himself??? The only thing that has happened to change Gervonta's tune is Loma moving weight classes.

loma is eastern european so he can fight whomever he wished and be hailed as #1 p4p if his name were "spence" hed have to fight thurman, crawford and mikey in one calendar year and beat them all to get a whiff of the top 3

Go back down in weight so Tank can duck him again. He seems willing to fight anybody ive seen no signs of avoidance of anybody maybe some of these fighters you want him in against are not quite as eager as you would think. Crolla isnt exactly the most amazing of announcements but its a mandatory and they gotta be dealt with.

I agree. But It appears he's going to in 2019. He's scheduled to fight Crolla, a tune up and a money grab, and then the winner of Chaniev/Commey which is a decent fight and I'm expecting Commey to win that one. At the end of the year he should be looking for a big opponent. Maybe it'll be Mikey or maybe Berchelt. Both work. If that's going to be his 3 fights, I'm fine with that.

I think Anthony Crolla then Richard Commey are next which I don't think is bad because 135 is not a deep Division at all especially with Mikey going up to 147 to fight Spence Jr.

loma wont go near mikey...unless spence beats him to a bloody pulp and they make the fight next.....which wont happen
