The thing is, and I don't want to cause offence, I can't even fathom the portions that Americans eat. I only just thought about it but maybe that also has something to do with it as well as his eating disorder.
I mean looking back I must have looked pretty strange when I visited America for a week. They must have wondered why I was eating such small portions. The poster above mentioned an extra large soda. In the uk ( even though we can be pretty unhealthy) that could be shared among six people! When people say toney ate a lot I keep forgetting the portion sizes he would have had.....
How did any trainer tolerate him now that I think about it? I like toney, he 's talented and can be funny at times. But he was known to be abusive and never seemed to listen to his trainers.
Nah...you probably just looked strange period....nobody gave a f**k what you did,or did not eat.
As for James,he is a fatty who has never taken care of himself....probably won't be with us much longer.
Great post, but probably a little too intelligent and well written for most on here.
I agree with most of it...especially the Broner/Hamed comparison.
Both were over-hyped punks with bad fundamentals...but at least Broner had the balls to come back after getting his ass kicked.
As for Manny vs Mayweather...so Manny has been reduced to a 'puncher's chance'....which is true, kinda like closing your eyes and swinging for the fences.
Mayweather screams after being bit...and that's all you fools can talk about.
Who cares what he would do in a street fight...it's a boxing match.
But oh,he screams after being bit...and you talk about that instead of the ass-bucket who bit him.
Floyd haters are so stupid and ignorant.
I don't think people hate him, he's just not exciting.
Who gives a crap where someone is from? Nationalism, is weak-ass thinking for people who have no identities, therefore need the lowest form of group think to give them an identity. These people are always losers.
I'll take a good fighter, who earned is way, an exciting fighter, over a fighter for simply being American. F that bull.
Wilder will lose to all the best HWs. He is not going to become great. Frankly, Wilder represents all that is wrong with boxing. F him.
Good answer...our national self-esteem is not gained by something as trivial as sports.
I watch these nations live and die during the world cup...and chuckle.
So much of Marvin's early career was spent chasing the name fighters...and the powers that be,waiting for him to fail.
If he had the backing and promotion of Sugar Ray,there would be no doubt of his placement in the highest of the high.
As it stands with me,of the four...he is number one.
I didn't know that Vietnam was invading the United States.
I remember the great lie well....'if we don't stop them from invading South Viet Nam,they will be on Cape Cod next'.
Funny,we lost...I live on Cape Cod,and feel pretty safe.
I live on Cape Cod....when Marvin was in camp,I would drive down to Provincetown to watch him.
The area in the winter is really desolate,cold...no one around, most of the inns and business closed for the season.
And there's Marvin, running in combat boots...along with Robbie Sims and a couple of sparring partners.
I use to have a great picture of Marvin and my family...
Hard to say anyone trained harder than him.
