I am looking for moments in boxing where you get chills; a big knockout, a decision, a trailer, crazy back and forth action etc. Something that resonated with you on a personal level.
I have a few moments although I'm probably forgetting a lot.
* Rigondeaux against Donaire when he did that matrix **** and just put his hands up like "Is that all you got?"
6:10 into this clip.
* Perhaps a bit obvious but the fourth fight between Pacquiao and Marquez. Just the crazy action between these great fighters and Marquez finally getting the better of Pacquiao. I was truly shocked.
* Morales turning south paw against Pacman in the last round in their first fight.
Feel free to post more moments from this great sport we love.
Gatti ward I round 9
I second this. There are a fair few moments in this sport that make you feel pretty humbled to witness and Gatti-Ward I Round 9 is definitely one.
It may sound strange tbh but I got chills during salido-lomachenko.
Going into the fight I can't think of anybody who said salido would win. I mean salido was experienced but people kept mentioning how he was stopped by gamboa, mikey, etc. I wasn't too pleased about Lomachenko getting a title shot in his 2nd pro fight and felt that people were (and still are) rating him too highly. Everyone was saying how salido would get outclassed.
But that wasn't what happened.
Salido deliberately came in over the limit and dropped the belt. But Loma fans were like "don't care, he won't be keeping it anyway." And then salido roughed him up for the entire fight. Sure, there were questionable low blows but Loma started holding for dear life. It sent chills for me because salido had no respect at all for loma. It was like watching an old veteran beat down on the new kid. But it was also chilling how loma gradually found his way throughout the fight. For me it was exciting how the underdog roughed him up so thoroughly. It showed how you can't take shortcuts in boxing.
Gabriel Ruelas vs Jimmy Garcia. Garcia fought tooth and nail for every bit of it but you could just see he was taking a beating, and then he actually died, that gave me chills for sure. I was watching it live on tv.
sitting ringside for the broner vs maidana. that was somthing that was amazing! everyone in san antonio went balistic. man, it was so crazy that broners bandcamp people were fighting with all of us. lol man it was crazzy, the atmosphere during and after the fight was insane! everyone left amazed with what people just witnessed.
i always loved lampley's call at the end of round 9 of trinidad/vargas. "this was vargas' promise. i'm not the kind of fighter who'll run. i'll stand with him. i'll trade with him. i'll stay with him all the way"
When Victor Ortiz was getting whooped nasty by Berto got dropped, then got up and dropped Berto, Emmanuel Stewart: OHHH MY GAWWWWD" Jim Lampley: "George Foreman/Ron Lyell, move aside, we have a fight here in vegas!!"
No matter how much of a douchebag Victor Ortiz is, say what u want about him but you know damn well that was epic, what a fight.
i can still remember like it just happened yesterday the moment was the 12th rd fight of fraud jr vs the great baldomir. it was the night that i slept like a log.
George Foreman KOing Michael Moorer. He was getting outclassed, looking his age, and out of nowhere, Moorer is on the floor.
The other would be Roy Jones saying Pacquiao is "not gettin' up Jim" and me realizing, "Oh sh*t, he's not getting up."
I got chills when lennox dropped that right hand on ruddock and flattened him. that was a lightning bolt. I really thought ruddock was going to at least extend him if not knock him out but lennox was awesome that night
Some other cool moments are when Michael Buffer had these long introductions to Mayweather and Pacquiao listing all their titles "former featherweight champion and so forth".

The intros truly send chills down my spine
Try watching the Hopkins vs de la hoya lengthy ones lol

I think that's cheap and should not be praised. It was also wack when Bradley did it.
That's an interesting point of view, something I have not thought about. I just scanned through your thread quickly so forgive me if I'm misinterpreting you.
So you mean you shouldn't be able to duck punches at all the way Bradley did against Pacman? Nor bend the knees? Tyson did this a lot almost squatting at times.
I understand your point that it hinders the opponent to land clean punches. But at the same time I feel as though if a fighter does this (bending the waist) punches that hit the back of the head should be blamed on him. Do you understand what I mean? If a fighter decides to do this he should expect to be hit on the back of the head, it's a risk you take. Also you could try with an uppercut as many people suggested in your thread.
But I like your argumentation against it and I see your point.
