I find this thread impossible to take serious. OP is an untrained bum, with absolutely zero experience. He probably has never taken a punch to the face and operates off theories from his own egotistical mind. I bet in his world he could step in with Adonis Stevenson and it would be a case of whoever lands first is winning. Reality is a lot different to your own fantasy land. Stick to playing video games and being a champion to only yourself.
I don't like Bob Arum and Manny Pacquiao, because they created a fraud, and created the hype around Pacquiao to make people believe he was even close to being a legit P4P fighter.
I don't like Floyd Mayweather, because he has held off from schooling Pacquiao for reasons of morality, inadvertantly fanning the flames, and giving Pacquiao fans the opportunity to claim a duck move.
I also don't like Al Haymon, and the Watson family, for that matter! Or Golden Boy.
An undefeated record does not necessarily make a good fighter. You could say it is purely coincidental, especially when a fighter operates at the summit of the sport.
It appears a poster can be for either Floyd Mayweather or Manny Pacquiao, but not for both. I don't dislike Pacquiao, I just acknowledge the fact that Floyd is the better of the two and always has been. Manny was a hyped up creation of Bob Arum and Top Rank. I dislike Arum.
The defining moments of Manny's career are the three robbery fights against Juan Manuel Marquez, and then the fourth fight which he lost in devastating fashion. I don't think Manny has much left to offer, and the lasting memory will be of him hitting the canvas face first, like a sack of spuds, on the receiving end of a highlight reel KO at the hands of his superior.
Floyd has had a great career and he has the potential to go on and have one or two more top fights to cement his legacy. I don't think Mayweather will stick around for too long, I expect him to retire undefeated. The haters will always hate, regardless. He could pick up wins against Saul Alvarez and Sergio Martinez, and people will still talk about how he ducked Tim Bradley and Austin Trout.
Floyd is by far the most gifted boxer of his generation, some people just aren't ready to accept that.
Mayweather vs Martinez
Alvarez vs Cotto
Guerrero vs Ortiz
Khan vs Garcia II
Santa Cruz vs Anselmo Moreno
Angulo vs Thurman
I would jizz in my pants if this was a legit card. Throw Trout vs. Bundrage on there for good measure.
I hardly ever miss a PPV, but if this May card is Floyd vs Guerrero and the undercard is shit, I ain't buying it. If Shaefer's idea of a "Record Breaking" event is Floyd vs Robert G with a weak undercard, they ain't getting no where near "Record Breaking".
Mayweather is fighting either Alvarez or Martinez. A long stretch, but I'd expect him to fight even Trout before he fights Guerrero.
Why not...
Mayweather vs. Martinez
Alvarez vs. Angulo
Cotto vs. Guerrero
Khan vs. Garcia II
Trout vs. Bundrage
Khan simply is not sturdy because he has no legs. He needs to add serious muscle to his legs to give him the support that he needs. I whole heartedly believe his weakness is his legs. Besides not having great chin. A strong base and he should improve considerably.
Good observation.
He does have chicken legs, and his defensive/concentration lapses are very costly.
Seemed to be able to stick to a gameplan for the whole of the fight, which was a nice change, and he didn't make too many costly mistakes, ie. no concentration lapses. Saying that, he was up against a lower level of opposition and never under any real pressure. Stick him in there with a live threat, and let's see how he handles his business.
Burns is an A- fighter.
Wins over R. Martinez, Katsidis, Mitchell, Moses, Cook.
These guys are B fighters. If you can beat B/B- fighters, then you are above that. At least B+.
I get the impression you get your information solely from Boxrec.
Nicky Cook has been done for years, fought Ricky Burns with a back injury which meant he couldn't last 1 round. Literally aggravated the injury in the first exchange of the fight and quit thereafter.
Kevin Mitchell is small for the weight and glass-jawed. It looked like a super featherweight versus a light middleweight in there.
Michael Katsidis has been done for years, and is a very over-rated, predictable fighter.
Paulus Moses is a C- level.
Rocky Martinez was a good win, and a big upset in most peoples eyes. Martinez is probably a B level fighter when on form, fighting in his own backyard, on his own promoters shows.
Let me be the 1st to trailblaze the thought. Angulo not only viable, but he'll stop ginger. No you read it right. Angulo stops him.
You are loco, holmes...
Oh hell no! He has an over-large head, which those braids made look even bigger last night. He is wide open to be hit, with a questionable punch resistance. Really pointless fight which proves nothing.
Why won't Canelo fight Austin Trout? Why? Why not call out Sergio Martinez at a catch weight? Why not? The reality pales in comparison from what they'd have us believe.
You've obviously forgotten Mohamed Azzaoui. The Millenium Stadium, Cardiff. November 2007. New Zealand's finest, a worthy 'world' title challenger.
I was there that night, it was the night I finally woke up to Frank Warren's bullsh*t.
Broner actually came across as intelligent and articulate, which came as a surprise.
I really don't think Ricky Burns has any business being in the same ring as this kid. Broner is from a different universe when it comes to boxing.
Did he really say that after his fight with molina?
I thought khan and Pac were friends, what happened?
I guess he just knows it's time to switch allegiances from the Pinoys to the Mexicans. Pacquiao is on the slide yo.
I honestly think he only said it for a cheap pop from the crowd, not actually realizing the implications regarding his friend Pacman and Juan Marquez.
Have you ever seen Pacquiao block?
I saw him backing up with a loose, Tong Po-like guard, and Juan Manuel Marquez threw right through his defence and pimp smacked him down anyway. Then after that Pacman used his chin as his first line of defence. As we all know, that technique didn't go down very well.
Pacquiao would brutally KO Khan with that left hand.
What left hand? Khan throws a lot of punches, and fast ones. Pacquiao would have a hard job not walking onto a shot.
Danny Garcia's biggest win is a lucky shot against Amir Khan. When he fights someone like Lucas Matthysse or Marcos Maidana, or rematches Khan, then we'll find out just how good he really is. I don't think you guys will like the results.
Danny Garcia landed a lucky punch, we all know it. Amir Khan has every advantage over this kid, no reason to believe anything other than a Khan boxing clinic in a rematch. Garcia and his racist/classless father can enjoy their 15 minutes while it lasts.
