I'm tempted to buy it, but I'll probably stream it and put my money towards buying Haye vs Fury and Froch vs Groves PPV's.
I don't see why the public should be expected to fund Mayweather's ridiculous paydays through over inflated PPV prices. $75 for a fight is craziness.
To be honest, I can't blame Murray if he avoids GGG. He's been robbed in two of his last four fights and probably wants to register a win before getting back in with a legitimate beast. I would love to see the fight, but two back to back defeats would put Murray's career back a long, long way.
Plus we don't know the financial terms governing this fight. GGG says he would fight in the UK, but is Murray a big enough name to make that fight financially viable yet?
Started off great but the middle rounds got scrappy. Glad it finished early because Chaves was gassed and had nothing left. Thurman looks decent, but would get taken out by Maidana, Matthysse.
I'm moving on from the Kell Brook hype. I'm not even convinced he could beat Frankie Gavin, let alone become a world champion. Senchenko is a joke who lost to Mallignaggi and was getting destroyed by a shot Ricky Hatton until Hatton's stamina, age, and long retirement caught up with him.
Cleverly was soundly beaten in all rounds. However, I won't criticise his assumptions. After a brutal defeat like that it will probably do his psyche some good to take whatever positives he can from the fight, however false they may be.
Great advert.
Audi's are refined, dignified, commanding cars. The manner in which Weeks carries himself when officiating a boxing match reflects the traits of the car.
If this was a Ford advert the comparison would be Joe Cortez flopping around the ring like a mad uncle spitting out break every 5 seconds. That would adequately represent most American cars which are loud attention seeking fuel guzzlers.
Current Maidana is almost the same as pre-Khan Maidana, subtle differences but he's still an out and out brawler.
Any version of Maidana beats Lopez and Karass. Prime Maidana got beat by prime Khan. Deal with it!
Not that Khan's victory over Maidana is anything to shout about. B grade victory at best. Khan's best win was over Kotelnik.
I'm a huge Khan fan, but being objective, Karass would win. He's durable and has good pop. I think he'd take Khan out late, but Khan definitely has the skills to win a wide UD if he boxes to a tee.
You can't learn advanced defensive techniques that late into you career. It's just asking for trouble. The shoulder roll also requires agility and quick reaction speeds to carry out successfully something that Berto's Hulk like frame isn't designed to do.
Floyd Mayweather has worked on that one manoeuvre his whole life and he still gets hit. What chance does Andre Berto have?
Fine point.
HBO's decision to play hardball with its cash is most welcome especially since it allows more talent to flourish in the televised ranks without breaking its boxing budget to cater for once over-hyped and over-financed Berto's of the world.
I believe the days of easy paychecks are over. If you want to become a high earner you will truly have to deserve it and be willing to fight the best. For much of his early career, Berto fought many opponents who simply didn't belong in the ring with him. When he was finally forced to step up, his lack of quality showed, and HBO's big investment in him backfired.
I don't dare to think about the great fights HBO couldn't afford to put on so that it could cater for Berto and Haymon fighters.
Khan may have a china chin but at least he has the balls to put it on the line unlike Alexander/Brook etc. Alexander and Brook didn't even want to fight each other, let alone Khan.
This fight would just be cruel. The only intriguing part is how long would it be before Amir starts doing the samba dance again?
Mayweather doesn't have that kind of power with only two stoppages (including one cheap shot against Ortiz) in his last 9 fights.
I love how Khan gets flack for fighting two tune ups. Critics totally ignore the circumstances leading to those fights.
Khan vs Peterson was a travesty. Not only did Khan do enough to win that fight, even with the point deductions, he also out performed Peterson who was on performance enhancing drugs at the time. However it was a grueling match and probably took something out of Khan, which is a shame because the playing field was heavily skewed in Peterson's favor.
In his next fight against Garcia, Khan started brightly and was outclassing Garcia until his recklessness caught up with him and he was knocked down with a tremendous left hook. He bravely fought back and landed some great shots against Garcia, but he absorbed too much punishment and the referee rightly stopped the fight.
Peterson and Garcia were incredibly tough fights for Khan, and after back to back defeats - one by vicious KO, all fighters need to rebuild.
The Molina fight is what it is. A confidence builder which Khan was expected to look good in. He delivered.
Khan was also expected to look good against Diaz which he failed to do, but in credit to Diaz, he fought to a draw in his previous fight with the highly regarded Shawn Porter, and always had enough power to trouble the likes of Khan. It was a credible fight for a boxer coming off two very hard defeats.
Now we're in a situation where Khan has had his gimme fights and is ready to step back in with a credible world class opponent, however, these supposedly world class opponents don't want to fight. Khan is more than big enough a star and financial attraction to 'deserve' a fight with Alexander. This is someone who won his belt off an old, shot Randall Bailey. The title was essentially handed to him.
If Alexander's team views Khan as too much of a risk, then that's fine. Admit it, stop making excuses, and move on - fight another Lee Purdy if that's what makes you happy. Just make a decision!
I used to be a big fan of Brook but now I'm going to root for Jones. Tired of Brook wasting his potential so I'd rather the flame to get extinguished than to listen to his failed promises over the next year.
I'd like to see Brook fight Maidana.
I think he'd win a wide UD, but he'd be made to work hard for the victory that's for sure.
Sink or swim time for Brook. He's been unlucky with injuries, but it's time he stepped it up.
I'll give him the benefit of the doubt for another fight as he's coming off a 10 month layoff and bad injuries, but after that he needs to fight a top contender/world champion.
