People offering too much $$ for Floyd. They need to realize he's a little kid who cant manage his money and will only fight when he owes everyone money that he borrowed for his car/taxes/house. Make no mistake about it, Floyd will be fighting until 50 years of age, he's too stupid to manage his money properly and will fight when he needs money only. Just wait 1 more year and Floyd will be begging on Ustream for a fight.
How do you know he cant manage his own money?
Have you seen the Mayweather afterdark videos?
Do you realise the ridiculous ventures he has going on outside the world of boxing?
Im not speaking as a fan of Mayweather but a fan of true facts. Hes filthy rich buddy and all of those things youre posting about his personal finances are rumors with no proper verification or backing what so ever. True signs of a hater.
Im as big a Gamboa fan as you will find and I think that would be the most exciting fight.
But I think that Gamboa would end up getting caught by too many awkward angle power punches which the prince is famous for.
I dont see anyone at feather KOing Hamed anyway, p4p he has an amazing chin. Correct me if I'm worng but he hasnt ever been rocked, just knocked down/off balance.
If ortiz who is just a class c fighter could do that to floyd then pac will make floyd like a punching bag.
If Marquez who is just a small fighter could do that to Pac then Floyd will make Pac look like a punching bag
If Cotto beats Pac and Money hasnt already booked a fight then i think were set to them two duke it out sometime next year.
Thats the fight I want to see. Not Mayweather vs Pac. Pacs too small for Mayweather. Its Cotto where all the real kudos points are.
I like both so I'd rather see neither fight.
If bernard loses he ends his career with 6 losses and a final loss.
If Chad loses hes got no chance of being this undefeated great which he has potential to be. Nto that he cannot recuperate its just that it'll take time!
He's not as stupid as you guys think.
A hell of a lot of his money is invested in businesses and properties.
Before you go on about how properties arent worth anything now. When the market picks up again there will be his cash.
Im not a Pavlik or Calzaghe fan. but I don't dislike either of them.
For god sake Pavlik beat Jermain twice and knocked him out once!
Pavlik hasn't been built up by anyone except for himself. I honestly think his record will be more impressive then Calzaghes in the coming year.
I'm a brit as well so non biased.
I think you're confusing what WILL happen with what you WANT to happen mate.
Be logical.
Pac can throw as many punches as he wants, it doesn't mean they will land at all. Where as May is a very very accurate puncher who will almost definitely land those one or two punches. Thats if he choses to fight that way.
The thread should have been called "I think Manny will cost to a UD" then I would have had nothing to say to you my friend.
I keep seeing shit like "I don't like Vitali, but he'd KO that giant and I want it to happen", to paraphrase.
Honest to Christ, if you think he's capable of chopping down that farking redwood tree, what's not to like?
I think the guy is very boring tbh. But I think he has the tools to KO that guy as he seems to ktfo every one some way or another.
On the other hand I dislike the giant a lot more. He's just too big and thats the only reason he wins. His skill and style are both crap imo.
Mayweather wants to be a rapper, dude needs to stop it already.
Didn't you hear him say he's too rich to be a rapper. I think his aim is to own his own label and thats it.
i think you are nuthugger
I'm no nuthugger my friend.
I just love to voice my honest (non biased) opinion against people who are completely oblivious to very obvious statements. Like the one you shot down in your first post:
i dont buy all this he had reached his peak to soon or they tried to change his style
The fact is that he left his long time trainer to go to Manny Stuart (among other guys) and their game plan was to change him; to get him to throw more combinations. The thing they left out was he still needed to keep that very elusive style he had. Thats why he was getting hit more. He should have stuck with what worked for him for so many years (the Ingles)
End of the day although I don't agree with you, his power won him the fights by KO.
You can't go around saying if this and if taht about peoples styles.
Like if I said: What if Calzaghe had a crappy work rate or no stamina. Would he have made it out of Wales?
Or if Jones didn't have power, would he have dominated fights so much?
You can say it about any one.
Hamed had the ability and awkward style to either out point or TKO the fighters he faced in his career.
I think your ignorant for saying you "dont buy all this he had reached his peak to soon or they tried to change his style". The fact of the matter is that this is the case. Until you get that then your living in ignorance.
Oh yeh and about getting hit too often in some fights.
Take 99% of the southern american fighters; theyre styles revolve around hit and getting hit with a minimum of dodging.
Don't fault him for that man.
I like quick, accurate, powerful fighters that hit but don't get hit (or at least not so often).
I like it when a fighter completely outclasses his opponents. On the other hand I really hate the fighters that just trade punches until the one with the weakest chin is exposed. Thats why Im not a big fan of a lot of the stereo typical mexican/southern American fighters.
Faves in no particular order
Roy Jones Jr (all of the above)
Floyd Mayweather (Technically perfect)
Naseem Hamed (Power, speed, elusive, entertaining)
Bernard Hopkins (Dominator)
David Haye (not your typical heavy weight, most of the above)
Kermit Cintron (Usually a dominater eh hem Margarito lol)
Andre Berto (Shows potential to be all the above)
Im a young man so all my faves are present day/late 90's.
Oh yeh with the exception of Tommy Hearnes
Beating 2 40 year olds
Sounds like Mr. Calzaghe to me and look where he is.
Could call it a stalemate because their opponents all seemed to have beaten each other too.
I know they weren't P4P but I thought I'd point it out lol
Yeh he will!
Just like he did for the Pac fight... oh wait that was Pac...
Some people need to put their hate to the side when posting on these boards and just be rational or no one will take you seriously.
btw no disrespect to Pac, just stating facts.
I actually go to his gym so i can help.
Yeh its mainly body sparring in the gym. This helps the elusive style that Brendan and more so his son now teaches us.
He does teach us to use weights now to improve the upper body, but not excessively. Only a little bit.
The main emphisis in Brendan's gym is the footwork. He has coloured lines and circles all over the floor of the gym which people use as guidelines for footwork. People go up and down and all around these shapes to improve their footwork. But don't try imitating them as he has trademarked the concept and idea (seriously).
