He didnt make fun of padwork itself. Just the way Floyd hit the pads. It was a bit powder puff. Almost as if Roger is hitting Floyd's gloves rather than Floyd hitting the pads.
Ricky even says he stood back in admiration of the speed but wasnt convinced on the power. I think they severly underestimated Floyd's power overall.
i think yall are overeacting to his improvements.. ricky looks a little bit better but when i saw the thread title and some of the comments i was expecting to see more than what i actually saw.
I think Sr. might try to get Hatton to go back to his old style of punching instead of holding to wear down his opponent...as well as using the jab and moving his head.
I don't know. Ricky's arms are short, I always remembered him looping his punches when he wasn't holding and hitting. He got away with it against the Tszyu's and old Castillos but we saw a glimpse of weakness in the Collazo fight and Mayweather exposed that weakness all the way.
Then Luizcano even caught him with the same check left hook in the exact same corner and round that Mayweather TKO'd him. Slow ass Luizcano....Malignaggie is gonna have a field day with him once his feet get into a rhytm and he starts hitting and moving.
Doesn't change anything. McGirt tried teaching this to Gatti and Thunder went in trying to box with Floyd and got his ass whipped.
He better not get cute in there with the shoulder roll or he will lose even worse then I'm expecting.

ill take the rest of your points then if you are betting on Paulie what do you say??
Paulie is no Mayweather and Hatton is quicker than Gatti infact i think Hatton's hand speed will be on a par with Malignaggi's

Lets see how he takes shots to the head, after Mayweather hes been really shaky after getting tagged flush.
Lazcano couldve finished him off had he had a lil more left in the tank
WOW!
I didn't even think he was capable of that, he looks sharp as ever.
capable of hitting pads? I can do that. Anyone with some good training can hit the pads well.
we'll see how good he looks come fight night.
Im actually extremely gutted for ricky hatton, just imagine if he would have been born in the us or would have found his way to a gym that belongs to a very experianced and knowledgeable trainer he would be 100 times better than he is which is amazing. I see ricky as a waste of huge talent, he could have been something extremly special but thats life, he can still go on to fight in huge fights and hes accomplished amazing feats and whats more importnat hes extremely popular.
Yeah, I said that a while back. Many European fighters have said the same thing about their own careers and the benefit of coming to the States. Lennox was one of them.
I've always said, if I was a prospect in Soccer/Football, staying in the States would be career suicide. It's the same in this situation, however; the States isn't exactly what it used to be.
Floyd Jr. had Floyd Sr. and Roger by his side since he was a youth...huge advantage.
wasn't Ricky making fun of how Mayweather hit the mits??thank you. yes he was. then floyd knocked his ass out and those pitty patt punches he made fun of floyd for, is the one thing he thinks will make him beat paulie. i don't see him beating paulie. i think paulie will beat hatton. cotto beat the shit out of paulie and paulie took it 12 rounds, hatton better knock him out early to have a shot. anyway, nobody does padwork as elusive and dynamic as floyd jr. anyway, people just try to imitate his style, which is why floyd jr. is the truth.
Biases aside, I could probably learn that routine within 2-3 weeks and look just as good. As a matter of fact, I used to do something very similar and I was good at it within a month. But it's differen't when you got a live target moving on you and sticking that jab in your face. What will happen then? How many sparring sessions do you think Hatton has had with Mayweather in his corner? 10? 15, tops? If De La Hoya still isn't really benefited by Mayweather, how will Hatton, who is much more wild??
I think the main difference between Hatton and De La Hoya (as far as how much Floyd can benefit them), is that Hatton has only ever worked with Billy Graham on the same old body bag routines etc. You can see it in his eyes - he's loving every minute of his new training and excelling at it, as far as I can see. He actually looks younger, like a kid who has just joined his local gym.
Confidence was the main problem with Ricky, I think. He looks like he's got it back.

haha yea thats what i was thinking in that 24/7 he was clowning on mayweather when he'd do his crazy mitts routine
