You guys think anyone today could beat naseem at featherweight?
I think he would knock most of them out, Chris john would be a good fight but I like naz by ko in an ugly fight, john would be fighting on even terms whilst it lasted, people have to remember that john is not a prime barrera, I think a prime barrrera was a better featherweight (126lb) then morales and marquez, he had better speed then john and a better jab and more intelligence.
Gamboa and naz would be interesting can't see it going the distance, naz proved he had a world class chin, gamboa has yet to prove that thats why I would maybe lean towards naz, if gamboa boxed and countered he might be able to dominate naz to a decision, but he has not shown he is capable of this as a professional yet
PPl need 2 realise Naz was NOT in his prime when he fought Barrera. Watch the documentary "Little Prince Big Fight", he was training in a 5 star resort, while Barrera was up in Big Bear. He didnt train seriously 4 Barrera. Manny Steward himself stated that he hardly ever sparred 4 that fight. At that period he was so arrogant because he believed his own hype. With his unorthodox style, speed, skill, and KO power, the Naz of 95-97 would destroy any featherweight today, including Gamboa. Back then he trained well, esoecially with Brendan Ingle. True British boxing fans will know he fought top fighters and top contenders e.g. Alicea, Kelley, Madina, Vasquez, Tom Johnson, and beat them all. Frank Warren offered Barrera the fight back in 96, and again in 98 after he fought Wayne McCullough, and he himself refused. Later in 2000 Naz tried fighting Barrera or Morales, and they BOTH refused, so he ended up fightin Augie Sanchez. He made so much money from the game, he lost his desire 2 fight, plus they tampered with his style.
Co-sign. Too many people judge hamed off of the barrera fight.
Man I miss that entertainment..
Naz had the most memorable personalities in the sport..
I used to hate him when i was younger..
Now I appriciate him..
I loved his Kevin Kelley fight and the Barerra fight..
I was rooting for Kelley and he learned a lesson.. but still got KOed
Naz cant beat Gamboa, thats about it

There's a couple or 3 on there that maybe could...but what's their chances? Maybe not so good. You're probably be right.
Let me ask you this : think any of them would beat Barrera? :boxing:
prime barrera? john might be able to outbox him. also gamboa maybe, let's see after gamboa faces better competition.

I challenge any poster here to watch that documentary and then come back to me and say Chris John or Gamboa beats Naz.
The Naz you saw even at Kevin Kelly's time was slipping.
Yes he looked poorer VS guys who were higher in quality, but he was also not as good. He relied a lot on his power by the end of his career and his reflexes were gone.
Think of a poor man's Roy Jones. Roy without his reflexes and speed is another fighter completely to the older Roy who fought some bums, but looked like superman.
Naz had a good chin.
The Barrera fight was not a shut out.
Naz had good power.
Naz was fast.
Naz had cat like reflexes.
He was awkward and posed a totaly new style to people.
He was so off balanced that he was actually great at it
He was a showman and people loved or hated him, but they watched
Steward made him too orthodox for his style
Naz had hand problems at the end of his career. He hit very hard
Naz just was not motivated. Watch that documentary and see how bad his arrogance got him and his team
uh no.. gamboa would destroy him no way can that overrated uk fagot beat gamboa, gamboa is a real fighter. not some clown with boxing gloves. look what happened when the uk bum fagot fought the greatt antion barrera.
he lost, and he would lose even worse to gamboa.
gamboa by first round ko.
Gamboa has fought less quality opponents.
He is good, but no way he beats a prime Naz.
The Naz that fought Barrera was not in prime at all.
Watch this documentary before the Barrera fight.
Im as big a Gamboa fan as you will find and I think that would be the most exciting fight.
But I think that Gamboa would end up getting caught by too many awkward angle power punches which the prince is famous for.
I dont see anyone at feather KOing Hamed anyway, p4p he has an amazing chin. Correct me if I'm worng but he hasnt ever been rocked, just knocked down/off balance.
been knocked down like 6 times after missing with his crazy leaping angled upper cuts.
Augie sanchez knocked him down with a punch that was ruled a slip.

Chris John would put Naseem to school.
This is the same Chris John who beats marquez. naseem is one of the most over rated fighter ever who hasnt fought anybody and once he did he got destroyed.
hasnt fought anybody?
you failed miserably there kid
