Anyone have any favorites or people from their homelands they want to discuss.....
I do....Demitrius Andrade will win Gold for the U.S. Team at 152....I have little question about that without even knowing shit about who he may face or what other coutries have to offer.
I'm obviously Biased because my current 5th favorite fighter was poised to make that spot on the team but was beaten by Andrade by decision twice in the trials.....Keith thurman in the meantime moved to Pro at the tender age of 18 and has gone on to a 6-0 with 6 1st round Kos. His style is better suited for the pros anyway but this Andrade Kid is no joke. He is a great young boxer with incredible defense.......Look out for both of these guys at 147-164 in the years to come.
the olympic stuff comes on randomly throughout olympic coverage right? So it's a pain to watch it. Anyone else hear about all the trouble with the current coach of the usa olympic team? A lot of guys are training with their personal coaches cause he's so disliked. That could cause problems winning medals.
i have been watching it since 92, it wasnt until 2000 you could catch some streams of certain select events or major bouts. For the most part though itll be easier than ever to watch events on replay or on youtube before it even airs on primetime here. whats crazy is guys you see now could be famous and they may only have 1 or 2 fights, Fernando Vargas, Jeff Lacy, i remember rocky juarez and how devastated he was during his defeat. andre berto i remember only seeing maybe one of his performences, so the guys you see today some of them might not make a dent, but others may become something special. I remember watching floyd mayweathers 3 minute montage about him and his father growing up in a boxing family and i had just gotten home from summer school, next thing you know he becomes one of the greatest fighters to step in the ring, you never know who you are looking at so pay close attention.
Ya no doubt......I've always kind of paid attention to who was doing what but never really watched any of it. Should be fun.
I have to be honest, I've never watched much of any of the Olympics in years past but plan to this time around.

I've met him a few times he's a very tallented boxer. He won the gold in the World Amatuer Championships. He also did sparring with Amir Khan.
YES BOY!!!
and BJ Saunders, i think hes middleweight
I'm looking forward to watching saddam Ali from the US
I like Ali but he is a long shot for gold.... he's shown a lot of vulnerability in some of his international fights
Raynell Williams....hes like a great version of forrest...none of that leaning hugging boring bullshit, he 1-2's you to death.....beat Haylon Williams for the spot in the team...
Yeah I watched Demetrius in the trials, he looks good too, he's the same height and weightclass as me, haha.
Cool, So you think you gonna try out for the 2012 team, or will you be pro by then? I'm a positive thinker, if you aren't going to be a boxer thats fine too.
Well look out for Andrade too is what I'm telling ya.....He's honestly the only one I see winning a medal for the States....And I'm thinking Gold.

Yeah Luis is back on the team, I'm really glad too. He's a talented kid, seen him fight a few times since I live a few minutes from him. I also like Rau'shee(sp) Warren, he's great too.

If they've let Yanez back on I'm happy to hear that. It seems he had a legit excuse to be late reporting....He's a nice fighter too.
