damn this soudns liek its actually gonna be a hell of a fight, dont u worry folks ill make sure u fellow peeps who dont see will as soon as i can.
thanks man, MUCH appreciated. :) :boxing:
IN order to come in with the full fledged attack mentality and not ever get knocked out coming in, his footwork must have been very fast, and indeed it was. I would have to rank him very, very high on the all time list of footwork, and in terms of coming in, probably the best. (in heavyweight)
I really think he shoudl fight the winner of Tarver Johnson but not before maybe fighting an easier fight at either 168 or 175. A fight against Winky could be good, but then people can say he's picking on smaller fihters. I'm not sure if Jermain's people will let him fight him, but if they will, he could think about that. BUt I'd favor about moving up. He could really cement his legacy with a win over Tarver and Johnson, and become one of the top ten fighters of al ltime.
Oquendo is at least a decent fighter, who has been competitive with two titleholders, and 'beat'Byrd in my opinion. Why would someone not want a fighter in the heavyweight mix who's not overrated, overhyped, and misranked?
Lennox Lewis might be the best heavyweight of all time. George Foreman even said that himself. Lennox Lewis is an incredible fighting specimen, and there are always going to be bashers. That's why I don't respond or listen to the Vitali bashers, because most of htem bashed one of hte greatest fighters ever.
I wouldn't say that he would have had no trouble at all. Vitali is one of the better fighters that he's faced. people shouldn't underestimate Vitali, although I think the Williams fight will tell us a lot more about him. That is, if he can fight the way he did against Johnson again. I think he should be aggressive more, against Sanders the laid backness was understandable because of the danger of Sanders' punches.
Former WBO heavyweight champion Corrie Sanders will make his return to the ring in Magdeburg, Germany on January 15 Universum Box-Promotion announced today. The big hitting South African believes that despite being 38 years old he is still one of the most dangerous heavyweights in the world. “I want to become world champion again”, said Sanders.
“At best I would like to fight Wladimir Klitschko right away,” added Sanders who holds a 39-3 record.
Sanders won the WBU heavyweight title in 1997 with a unanimous decision over Ross Puritty and defended the belt three times, against Bobby Czyz, Jorge Valdes and Alfred Cole before losing it to Hasim Rahman.
On March 8, 2003 he scored the biggest victory of his career by knocking out reigning WBO heavyweight champion Wladimir Klitschko in Hanover, Germany.
Later he vacated the WBO belt and fought against Vitali Klitschko for the vacant WBC title on April 24 in Los Angeles. Klitschko stopped Sanders in round 8.
On the same event where Sanders makes his comeback on Jan. 15 at Bördelandhalle in Magdeburg flyweight world championesse Regina Halmich and European light heavyweight champion Thomas Ulrich will be highlighted.

He wants to fight Wladmir again? I wonder why. This is pathetic. This guy was beaten badly by Vitali, exposed for his shortcomings, and wants more? Some people will do anything for a buck.
Sanders is a good fighter, and one of the hardest hitting southpaws ever. He has a huge hcance to beat anyone out there except for Vitali and maybe Byrd. I support him fighting on and I wish him luck on Jan. 15th.
I definitely agree, but I do not think that Byrd would be that reckless to stand in front of Sanders. Against Mchline he did not, and he jsut wanted to show the fans in the fights against Oquendo and Golota that he could stand in there like that. I think the fight against Mcline geave him back some credibility. Against Sanders he would be weary, but I think Sanders would catch him, of course Byrd has a great chin. If sanders trains hard he could TKO Byrd, and maybe KNockhim out, as Byrd might be confused by fighting another southpaw.
Post Tyson fight you cannot call Danny Williams a bum. The heart and coming back from behind capability that he showed warrant no reasons for continuing to call him a bum. Now the true caliber of the modern Danny Williams, the so caleld new and improved Danny Williams, we shall see on Dec. 11th.
okay: Pacquaio is unrelentless, Freitas, Corrales, Tszyu, Cotto, Trinidad, Vitali, Wladimir, Tyson, Sanders. Sanders' speed is just incredible for such a big guy, not to mention his power. Only problem is his stamina. I just love Tszyu's straight rights, plus the way he throws them as leads.
I truly believe that Tyson lost against Williams because of the knee injury. I've read reports that he left the ring after the fight on his own legs and with no problems, no sign of a gimp or anything. Without the knee injury, Tyson could have won at least by TKO by rounds three, maybe four. At this age, fighters are prone to injury, i.ie. James Toney. Plus, with age comes a slight diminsihment of power, let alone accuracy and speed which Tyson also relies on. Footwork becomes lazy, reflexes are shot. Tyson can earn himself a good top Ten ranking if everything goes perfectly for him, and that is a big if. I do not believe that he can beat a title holder, except for maybe Brewster, and he would have to pace himself. He could have a chance against Ruiz.
I definitely think that against someone as aggressive as Mike that Ruiz would get nailed coming in head first attempting to clinch. I see Tyson by TKO or even KO if he properly trains, but I also see Ruiz frustrating him and POSSIBLY grinding out a decision. Oh who knows with Tyson...Ruiz has beaten Golota (may it be unfair), Rachman, Oquendo..
I think perhaps MIke can use some of his maturity against that...guys fighting back that is. He is older now than before. ANd I would hope more mature..BUt let's face it, I don't even think they'll want to put him in with a tittleholder for a bit..They want him to fight a few weak fighters, then slowly move up, and then fight a title holder, maybe at the end of next year, or early 2006.
well the two fighters holyfield has recently faced are skilled boxers and boxed him, whereas tyson would just come forward. I wouldn't make Tyson a huge favorite against Holyfield in a third match. I'd sitll pick Tyson to win however.
yea, i kind of agree. I think it's too early for him to step up to the light heavyweight division AND call out the undisputed champ. He probably wants either a quick fix to get the title or is jsut talking crap. But he is a good, solid fighter. But he would be the big underdog in coming up to face say Tarver, if he beats Johnson.
This has been coming for years, but it wasn't until the Donald fight I realized how sad this is. I watched the post-fight interview and it was ridiculous. He said hes going to keep fighting, that atleast he did better than in the Toney fight, it was ridiculous. If he fought Tyson a 3rd time, it would look like Tyson-Spinks. And that still wouldn't be enough probably. I think medical suspension is the only way to resolve this.
Absolutely. I'm glad the New York Fighting COmmission did what they did. He needs to be stopped before he gets hurt and gives himself brain damage.
that seems to eliminate two big fights for Tszyu I was wanting to see...leaves him Corrales and Spinks as two other big fights. STill, interesting to see how this fight turns out, although I see Mayweather banging out a decision with a tough hard fight for him.
I'd have to give it to Winky Wright, of course this is just up until now. Next month Vitali is fighting as well as both Glencoffe Johnson and Tarver, and with a devastating knockout against each other they can catapult themselves to number one so far. If Vitali demolishes Williams he will be up there, although probablyl not number one. Of course, if Williams wins (and I believe this is a big if), then he'll be fighter of the year as he beat Tyson and Vitali. But Winky catapulted himself to stardom after the first Mosley fight, and has beaten him again.
as soon as he fights someone with enough speed and will to unclinch and hit him right before, during, and immediately aftetr a clinch. Someone with the intensity like an in shape Tyson, for example. Tua desposed of him fairly easily. :D As soon as he fights Vitali he'll be disposed of, or maybe even Byrd. He does have some power so someone with a weak chin needs to be very weary.
I agree 100%. He needs to make a name for himself and his legacy at the 154 lb division, wait till Hopkins is long gone, then possibly move up to face 160 lbers and try and be hte champ there too. I think he has what it takes to definitely grab a couple of titles at the post-HOpkins landscape of the middleweight division.
Vitali Klitschko vs. Danny Williams on Dec 11th might end up being a decent bout, I doubt however that Williams can survive Vitali's power shots the same way he managed to do against Mike Tyson. Williams, other than the Tyson, has fought nearly all his fights in the UK and out of 35 fights has won 32 (27 ko's) and lost 3, a nice record but you have to wonder about the competition he's had. It's hard to imagine Williams defeating Klischko, but I reckon he has a punchers chance, you'd certainly think that VK has the superior skills, firepower and experience to make this a somewhat easy night.
I really think that Vitali wins early. He should be aggressive, should be somewhat weary of potential combinations to the body and uppercuts up top from Williams, should watch his pace, but work him hard the way he did against Kirk Johnson. It would be a huge embarassment if VItali loses, but I view this as a huge if.
This is silly, I pick the professional, world champion boxer who makes his living by fighting over the basketball player. Come on, how could someone think that a basketplayer, who is not Shaq and immensely huge, could have a chance against a very good, world class boxer? And a fairly large one at that.
I agree, why THIS fight? Maybe it's good to get a fighter acclammated to PPV before they try to push a BIG PPV fight for Vitali, like say ag ainst Byrd, or Toney or something..
He's the champ at 168, that's not a situation where there's no reward for fightiing him. I think that he wants to stay away from good 175 lbers and find a quick way to fight the champ.
Vitali's fought lots of fighters who had faster hands than him, and that didn't stop him from knocking them out. I dont' see Danny's power as being too good or overwhelming, I really think that if VItali fights the way he did against Johnson, then it should be a very early knockout win for him.
are you trying to insinuate that De la hoya took a dive, like so many other people do? That's ridiculous. IT was aa fight of skill and no determined outcome by any means. If you haven't taken a kindey punch, then one shouldn't talk.
I respect Rachman, he seems like a really good guy. I hope the fight with Klitschko happens, it'd be a good fig ht for Viatli in terms of his carrer and potential legacy. VItali should be weary of Rachman's power, and I see Vitali beating Rachman in seven.
