Is that the same belt that felix strum owned while avoiding his mandatory for years? Why should geale not get an optional defence when it wasnt him not fighting his mandatory?
It's funny how geale says he has no problem fighting and all golovkin fans still talking rubbish. Geale isn't Murray. For his barker defence he was given 3 options and chose barker because he was the biggest challenge.. If they both continue their winning ways a fight is inevitable. Reminds me alot of pavlik. A big puncher comes along and before they have done too much are getting compared to the greats. Golovkin is impressive no doubt, but I think a geale fight is more competitive then alot of people think.
Too many Boxrec fans and not enough boxing fans.
Oscar is one of the leading lights of the 90s, one of the best welters I've ever seen, primed he beats everyone at welter over the last decade and is great h2h against the greats of the division, yeah that includes Leonard, Robinson, Hearns, Cuevas, Gomez, Zivic and so on. Oscar has power, good speed and tremendous skills and heart. He'd go to war all night and through the 90s had one of the best resumes of any fighter...ever!
His first legit loss was to a doped up Mosley and even that was a hell of a close fight. Heck a washed up Oscar gave Floyd the toughest night of his life. **** the haters, Oscar makes more money in one week than you will in your lives!
No ****, for your information I am a boxing fan. I was telling this person to have look at boxrec sticking up for Oscar because they stated he never won any of his big fights. I agree with everything you have said.
He is alright. I hate when he sucks off Canelo though.
He is on the recieving end of my favorite body shot KO though
Haha are you for real? It looks like Oscar took a dive to me..
Oscar had talent, yes he did,but lets be honest here he lost all of his big fights against prime fighters.
Obviously just repeating what you have heard. Go check boxrec before you go making un educated statements.
I'm surprised sugar ray leonard never went down when ever he saw aaron pryor outside of the gym. He was scared of aaron pryor. Pryor had him saying No Mas
Sugar ray would of schooled Pryor.
why did he dodge him then?
Benitez, hearns, hagler, Duran the list goes on. Why would he duck Pryor when he fought a list of all time greats. Fact- Pryor was offered a fight with ray but turned it down as he believed he was being low balled, even though it was still a career high pay day for him.
Ideally we'd have:
Martinez (RING/WBC) v Golovkin (WBA)
Quillin (WBO) v Barker (IBF)
More realistically we'll have:
HBO warming-up a Sergio/GGG fight
Martinez (RING/WBC) v Rubio? April 2014
Golovkin (WBA) v Stevens/Mora/Pirog late-2013-mid-2014
Martinez (RING/WBC) v Golovkin (WBA) late-2014
Barker fighting his way up
Barker (IBF) v Sturm December 2013
Barker (IBF) v Geale II mid-2014
Barker (IBF) v Murray late-2014
Barker/Murray (IBF) v Golovkin (?)/Quillin (WBO) mid-2015
That's assuming barker wins those fights. Probably lucky to beat geale last weekend
No he's not. I can think of alot better of the last 20 years. Pac, mayweather, ward, de la Hoya, Hopkins, Roy jones, Marquez. That is just to name a few
I'd say Pac outworks him, and as for Floyd.... Tszyu wanted nothing to do with Floyd so I guess you have your answer for that.
Haha tszyu wanted nothing to do with floyd?? Come on man where did u get that from? When Kostya was the man floyd clearly avoided him. Do u recall him fighting two eliminators one against demarcus Corley and one against Henry Brussels to line himself up for a shot against arturo gatti when Kostya was willing to fight and was the recognised main man in the division. He took the easiest path to the title
All the noobs think G-man is GGG. :lol1:
Haha I was thinking the same thing. It took me a second to realise why people were talking about ggg in a McClellan thread
triple g would beat the crap outta ward
so would the g man
Cool story,
Wards achieved more then both of them in his career. Come back when ggg has cleaned out a division
Yeah Hopkins, Toney, Malinga, Tate, Castro etc were all toilet cleaners. Log off
Also Virgil hill and mike mccallum. Haha I don't know how people can downplay his record
I do love it when people say "Bradley made the right move cos he got a win over manny"
Bradley did NOT beat manny pacquiao
Anyone with eyes knows Pac won a wide UD in cruise mode.
Just checked boxrec it says Bradley won??
Really guys? Golovkin has no chance? The most accurate puncher in the sport, who also has great output and tremendous power is somehow not a threat to Ward?
I think mayweather and rigo are more accurate
I say take on Anthony Dirrell-his former mandatory-if or when Anthony Dirrell beat Bika.I have no doubt Anthony Dirrell beats Bika, and i have no doubt Ward avoids him again.Anthony Dirrell is`nt one of those hype jobs Ward fought in the super six,nor is he another Edwin Rodriguez, and he`s certainly not a weight drained Dawson.Anthony Dirrell have very good boxing skills, speed and power.People say he didn`t look impressive in his last fight but what they don`t understand is that Anthony Dirrell chose to brawl with his last opponent cause he knew he couldn`t hurt him. When Anthony Dirrell chose to box him at times,he had a much easier time.Against Ward,Anthony would have more respect and would fight intelligently.
Lol hype jobs in the super 6!?? Do u classify Kessler and Froch as hype jobs?
J'Leon Love knocked out yesterday, he is a technican fighter --> GGG/Kovalev fanboy logic ---> GGG and Kovalev are very skillfull fihters.
Pathetic...
If next week Roberto Ortiz upsets Matthysse you will figure out from that match somehow again, how skillfull are Kovalev and GGG? :sucks:
Don't be fooled into thinking someone isn't skillfull just because they are a puncher. There are 1000's of punchers around the world who never go past club level. You need skill to get to world championship level
They didn't want proof, they just wanted him to take a test. The fight would've happened already if he did that. I mean, he did it for Rios.
I believe they wanted Pac to do more then was required by the Nevada athletic commission and Pac said that he would do testing that was required by the sanctioning body. Up until then mayweather hadn't asked anyone else to do so and wasn't really the A side in negotiations(manny and Floyd were equals). Sounds like another excuse really
