  • It would be so easy to refute every single line of that. So much so that it's really not worth it....

  • Were all know that context though.

There's plenty of context to apply to Floyd and Joe's careers too.

It's pretty hard going to expand every statement. So I just went with a fact, as you did....

  • We'll see.

I think you're underestimating Usyk's ability to control the distance. He controls distance like no-one else in the division.

If the fight becomes about fighting from range, then I pick Usyk every single time.

Fury's jab is a weapon. But Usyk isn't...

Of course, though just as last time, I'm still not hitting the button on the PPV purchase. You never feel too confident with Fury and there's still time for something to go wrong....

  • It's Heavyweight boxing. It can happen. He reversed those losses, even if the McCall fight was unsatisfactory.

Lewis earned his status. No-one else was willing or able to do that....

  • Lennox beat everyone he faced. And he faced most of them.

Sure he could have fought Tyson earlier - but then you could reverse that... Tyson could have fought Lewis earlier.

He could have fought Bowe, but of course Bowe could have fought Lewis.

    These guys had...

  • Everyone who has fought Usyk has said that his lead foot feels like it is right there immediately in front of them the whole fight.

It's not as simple as keeping range when a guy is so effective at seemingly being in range all night. Except he's not there anymore when you try to engage....

  • Eubank Watson is a great shout. Especially given that Eubank literally came off the canvas and effectively won the fight with the first punch he threw. An incredible shot it was too.

Shows you how important context and narrative are in boxing. It also shows you that the boxing world, deep...

It's Fury's fault but it's also just the fighter that he is.

Potential is a factor of ability and dedication. Lacking the dedication to train or face the kind of competition that you should is just as much of a weakness as lacking a decent jab.

This is Tyson Fury, with all...

So if he wins, he's great and he would always beat Usyk. And if he loses then he's still great and would typically beat Usyk, but he just couldn't be bothered.

It's incredible how many people fall for Fury's low level voodoo....

  • Really?

He goes at an extreme pace for 12 rounds. I think he'll happily up the pace v Fury and fully expect to outlast him.

Fury's advantage is his dimensions. Weight and length. I don't see any other advantage he has. Size is a big advantage though.

    I think Usyk...

  • If Wilder beats Zhang then surely he's back on the Joshua/Saudi gravy train.

If he loses that's 4 losses in his last 5 with the only win against Hellenius. Will people still bother making Wilder fights?...

I don't believe that Fury is now what he was when he fought Wilder the second time. And I don't think he was ever as great in his comeback as has been claimed.

It still shocks me that he might get in the ring with Usyk.

Ngannou hit Fury with practically every left hand he...

  • Parker's a genuine top 5 guy and always has been. He's no easy fight for anyone. Decent size, decent boxer, decent stamina, decent movement, decent everything.

Zhang had a good win against a pretty good guy with massive weaknesses that were made to measure for him. But he got found out...

  • Wilder was decent and moderately entertaining if you looked past the majority of the action in the ring.

It's hilarious that he was such a long reigning champion though. I give him some credit, but his achievements far outweigh his ability and his resume.

  • No, but at 225 pounds he already does things not seen in the heavyweight division. And doesn't gas in the way you'd think a 225 pound man should considering the effort he puts in.

I still think his Joshua 1 performance was as good as I've seen from a heavyweight. He was incredible. ...

And if they all lost to Inoue then people would complain they weren't strong enough competition.

I think it's just the downside of being this dominant in a small division. No-one gets to be a star when you've got Inoue in the weight class. He's fighting excellent fighters and beating them...

Look at the Ring Ratings... The guys ranked 1,2 and now 5 have the same most recent result. A defeat to Inoue.

He's fighting and beating the best in the division. He's doing it quickly too.

He's going to have to move up again but I don't think you can knock the standard of...

He's not going to find many big names in his division. Just the way it is.

He's an all time great in the smaller divisions. It just is what it is. The world is never getting too excited about a 122 pound man....
