  • Do you think Deontay Wilder will be considered a modern day Primo Carnera?

After the dust settles on his career?

It all looks so so bad now. He never beat anybody. Pretty much never beat a fighter with even a wikipedia entry until.his 30th fight.

Also people say that a guy called Harold Sconiers KOd him in one of his early fights but the footage was scrubed from the Internet.

Wilder took up boxing in his twenties and became a heavyweight champion. He took part of what's considered one of the best heavyweight fights of the era in Tyson-Wilder III.

So to answer your question: No. Wilder will go down as one of the hardest punchers ever and an overachiever considering his late start and poor skillset. Only in the minds of a few NSB posters will he be considered a clown like Carnera.
      Malik Scott fight was fixed.

Also you could say Wolder's resume was fixed lol he swerved all the best heavies of the era to fight the Duhpapes' and Molinas of the world while he held that belt hostage (won it off Stiverne lol)

His bum hunting only came to an end around 40 fights into his career with the cherry-pick gone wrong vs Tyson Fury.

Wilder was a decent heavyweight title holder, no he wasn't an all time great but he was range, had decent athleticism and nobody can argue his power was absoloutley insane.

Again, no he's not an ATG but let's not act like he's charles Martin either you know.

To be fair Ortiz had him KO'd standing in the first fight and they gave him all the time of the world to recoup.

The Malik fight was fixed though, probably Robert Helenius fight too.

If Wilder has no ability then he has the best right hand of all time.

Wilder was decent and moderately entertaining if you looked past the majority of the action in the ring.

It's hilarious that he was such a long reigning champion though. I give him some credit, but his achievements far outweigh his ability and his resume.

We generally make allowances for fighters who lose a few at the tail end of their career... I don't think history will afford Wilder the same allowances.
