Plus Wilder was never a hypejob because literally everyone knew how limited he was. His success was always more of a "holy **** how is he doing this when he sucks so bad" kind of success that people had fun with. If Golovkin is a hypejob, then that takes away from Alvarez, who had two very close fights that lots of people had him losing. Shouldn't we be acknowledging instead that Golovkin is a very good fighter that Alvarez managed to beat?

Wilder wasn't billed as anything but a puncher fans were legit claiming GGG would destroy a prime McCallum, Roy Jones Jr, B-Hop, Monzon, claiming he was the greatest MW ever etc

And Wilder at least beat Ortiz in decisive fashion. I genuinely thought Jacobs and Derevchenko both beat GGG.

GGG is a better boxer/fighter but he was way, way more overhyped than Wilder

Okay, imagine if GGG and Wilder both had average power for their respective weight classes. GGG still has enough to win a World title whereas Wilder becomes a journeyman.

Wider only wins a round against a quality opponent if he scores a knockdown or a knockout - that's the difference.

Beat the #1 and Lineal Champion at 140 and P4P Top 5 and also beat a very good Collazo to win the WBC at 147.

Not even close to the biggest hype job. Plus Hatton's career was longer than 10 years ago anyway
