I’m not surprised you left your man AJ out. He lost to Ruiz in one of the biggest HW upsets of all time when you take odds into account. Only #3 behind Douglas beating Tyson, and Holyfield beating Tyson. Joshua also had some physical advantages over Ruiz like height and reach. Their weight was 21lbs apart, with Ruiz having that advantage.

Meanwhile Wilder lost to the #2 ranked HW, Fury is 6’9”, longer reach, 43lb weight advantage. Fury is also seen as superior to both AJ and Ruiz.

Sorry Robbie. Fury beating Wilder doesn’t mean AJ beat him or doesn’t eliminate AJ’s loss to Ruiz.

GGG was overhyped by some on here (I remember the comparisons to Haggler and Hopkins and smh) but I dont think he himself is a hypejob because he fought the best opposition in his division and arguably should have 1 loss to his resume (Derevyanchenko). Had him clearly beating Canelo in the first fight and narrowly edging it in the second.

He is simply a very good fighter who got old, Wilder resume is inferior and as soon as he made the step up he got found out.

Personally I think Broner, the Charlo twins and even Tank Davies are far more worthy of being called hypjob

Wilder really, he'd be a mild contender in other eras.

Golovkin actually DID win a title and made at least 2 good defences, one by UD, one by draw.

Fighters/athletes just get better over time man...hard to compare eras anyway...Monzon etc would likely be fighting at lower weights these days compared to MW...same day weigh ins etc.

you don't seem to understand how boxing works

              1) Monzon is not compared to Golovkin when evaluating greatness

a fighter is judged on what he accomplished in the sport

              FACT: Monzon > Golovkin

              2) if Monzon fought in our era, he would have the same advantages

              3) I would take the proven Monzon over the (still) largely-unproven Golovkin

This thread should have AJ as a choice to be credible. GGG and Wilder each lost to the best fighter in their division. AJ lost to a fat, slovenly, mid tier journeyman at a time when Brits were proclaiming him to be the next great HWT.

AJ is the biggest hype job in the last 10 years.

                  GGG wasn’t a hype job.
