honest question for AJ fans

The PBC propagandist who started this thread is trying to convince people that Hearn got extensions on finalising the Povetkin fight under false pretences. He's saying that the contract Hearn sent to Finkel was for a fight in April 2019, not this year, and that the WBA went along with Hearn's scheme because of the sanctioning fees they get from AJ's fights.

I say that's a preposterous idea, and that if Hearn had pulled a trick like that then both he and the WBA would have been sued by Povetkin's promoter for keeping him dangling in limbo for a month under false pretences.

As a former boxing promoter, what's your take on it?

I think Hearn was worry about Ryabinsky taking this to purse bid so they used the Wilder fight as a bargain I'm sure Povetkin is getting a split not flat fee

Like the other poster here said, that could have been settled in 5 minutes. Problem was Wilder and his team just ignored the contract for weeks without any comments or anything. Man weeks. How many days do you need to make any comment for a fight you claimed you desperately want? It's hilarious.
