    honest question for AJ fans

for AJ fans who believe wilder was hearn's preference to be AJ's next opponent, why do you believe that? considering how much money AJ will make for an easier fight, what business incentive would there be for hearn to want to rush straight to the wilder fight?

i think we all agree AJ is the clear A-side and can make big money against anybody. so what would the logic be in wanting to face a dangerous puncher next instead of waiting a little longer?

Why did Finkel run on social media stating he's sending the contract back unsigned knowing the WBA was on Hearns back?

Same reason he fought klitschko and parker when he did instead of having 40 soft touches like wilder, because joshua is actually good! aka the real deal.

what makes you think wilder and finkel really wanted it next? especially when finkel didnt want wlad cos wilder was a "baby" at 40 fights (pahaha) and wilder has a history of fighting trash opponents other than his latest opponent. Based on each fighters resume theres only one who you could consider a coward(in boxing terms) and one who has done everything earlier than expected

lets not put wilder on some pedestal. hes not really much more dangerous than povetkin. just two fighters with a big punch, stick them in a ring together and i wouldnt be shocked if povetkin made wilder do the alabama shuffle, hell old man ortiz nearly got him out of there lol

Wilder and Winkel had complete control whether the fight gets made or not.
            They were holding the contract!
            It wasn't returned.
How many effing weeks do you need to send back the goddamn contract?
Is this the Wilder guy begging for the fight?

Because Povetkin is almost as dangerous without half the reward.

I don't think Hearn really wanted the fight next. Or let's put it another way which I think is closer to the truth: He wanted to leverage Wilder's team's weakness to get a better deal than would otherwise be the case and he was willing to risk the fight not happening. Hence the 12.5 flat fee offer. I've no doubt if Wilder had accepted that the fight would have taken place, because Hearn would've got AJ a hell of a deal.

That said, there's one reason why taking Wilder next may have been attractive and that's the conflicting demands of each governing body. Should he beat Wilder AJ is undisputed and holding four belts plus IBO and Ring titles he'll then be able to relinquish one or more of the belts without harming his status as the undisputed number one. That will make managing his career in the way most suited to his long term commercial goals far easier to manage.

Because AJ wants to fight the best like he has done thus far. But he's not going to overpay Wilder to a ridiculous extent, nor is he going to accept Wilder's silly demands.
