So you tell me that If Ali was fighting in our era, withoutthe Klitschkos, he wouldn't be considered as an ATG? Right...

if ali fought vitaliu's resume no one would think he was an atg. if vitali fought ali's resume,he'd have been kTFO enough that this ridiculous ****ing thread wouldn't have been created.

That's right. He could go the Wlad route and try fighting everyone, but he'd never be considered the greatest. Or he could take the Vits route and repeatedly fight second tier opposition and he wouldn't even be considered. That goes for every other ATG as well.

Well thatt's not the way I define an ATG!

Hide, Williams, Solis and Chisora weren't in the top 10 when Vitali fought them. That's what counts. Otherwise, you forgot about Briggs as well. He used to be a solid top 10'er

It seems like you should do some research on it
Hi, how are you doing today?

                Good, that's great.

Now, with that out of the way: You do know Ring updates their rankings monthly, correct?

That being said, the links you provided are from individual monthly issues of several different years. That does NOT mean:

                A) Those fighters were never top ten ranked in Ring magazine. Or...

                B) Those fighters were not ranked in the Ring top ten when Vitali faced them since those rankings are not from the month before he beat them up.

I understand the need to try and discredit Vitali to prove your point, but I've been a fan since before he was a titlist and know everything there is to know about him including his ranking and rankings of his opposition.

I will concede that I did forget about Briggs and that Hide may have not been ranked top ten even though that's BS because he had a world title and defended it a few times.

But...I stand by the rest. Therefore..............

Peace out, I won't attempt to beat the dead horse any longer.

                  No?

How can he be an ATG himself then?
Is that how you define an ATG? Whether you've you've beaten a top 50 HW or not?

                    3 criterias : record, h2h and notoriety.

We must all recognize that you can't compare fighters such as Foreman,Ali and Frazier with the Klitschkos and David Haye due to huge athletic diferrences. I wouldn't be surprised if I was told Haye hits harder than Foreman used to. Briggs said with his own mouth that Vitali was the hardest hitting fighter he has ever faced ( Briggs fought with Foreman). Vitali is 42 and would still give a beating to Povetkin for instance ( who I think is perfectly matching his style). Ali was finished at the age of 35...

Ali has a better record and has more notoriety. But to be honest, what would happen if he faced a giant that is extremely awkward, has decent hand speed, good reflexes, heavy hands and an excellent timing?

My conclusion is that you can't really establish a ranking. We should just make an ATG list and that would be just fine.
