    1. Ray Robinson

    3. Ray Leonard
    4. Jose Napoles
    5. Kid Gavilan
    6. Emile Griffith
    7. Jimmy McLarnin
    8. Barney Ross
    9. Carmen Basilio
    10. Luis Rodriguez (Imo he won all 3 fights with Griffith)

Left Joe Walcott out but he's got an argument for top 5.
HM: Ted Kid Lewis, Jack Britton, Mickey Walker, Tommy Ryan.
That is a really good list. Would maybe take out Rodriguez and put in Hearns but other than that I pretty much agree

Let both of them go at it. This is probably the 3rd thread I saw those 2 fights. Green for a quality list man.
I put him on ignore. Life's too short to pay attention to obvious trolls. Welter has been 147 since around 1920. Prior to that, the limit was sometimes lower. 54 was just being Middle for a huge chunk of the gloved era. I'm not aware of Welter being that high in the same time period. If it was, it was entirely insiginificant.

Just in case anyone thought something else was the case.

      Don't feed the tolls.

FACT: This is my list and I ranked them on my list the way I view them!

And how exactly do you view Hagler as the 5th best welterweight? Because without looking it up I can next to gaurantee you he never fought in ant division but middleweight.

I'd have Napoles just behind Ruben Carter at WW.

most of you dont even know who Ruben Carter was, or half the guys on my list. You all just google them and throw them on your list based on what someone told you!

                  • You cant compare Tito's situation to Bute. Totally different. If you actually followed boxing in the 90's you would know that Tito had problems with Yamil Chade. Fights that were supposed to happen didnt because of their disputes. Tito wasnt avoiding anyone. And for us that lived in PR before all this internet media sources, we read in the newspaper every single day of Tito's problems with promoters and why he wasnt able to fight. It is not the same. Do some research before making comparison like this.

It's no coincidence that Don King's biggest stars Tito and Holyfield got gifts in their biggest fights that year.
