Felix Trinidad an ATG at Welterweight?

Yet, he did the exact same thing Bute is being accused of doing right now. Trinidad won his title against Blocker, defended against Oba Carr and Campas-

    - and his next toughest 147 fight was against out of rehab- Pernell Whitaker.

During that time span (1994-1999) Pernell Whitaker, Oscar Delahoya, Ike Quartey, Jose Luis Lopez, even Carr and Wilfredo Rivera were taking tough fights with each other.

While Trinidad fought the likes of Lueshing, Waters, and Pineda, all the other champs were fighting stiff tests. And Trinidad is considered an ATG at that weight....

The fact that you even put Trinidad in the same sentence as Bute, you deserve to sleep outside tonight.

Define ATG. He doesn't rank in the top 10 and probably doesn't make it in the top 20 at welterweight.

94 was a pretty good year for Tito....Beating the likes of Carr, Camacho, and Campas that year...That year alone is better than anything Bute has accomplished. Not adding the win over Blocker(which I was there in attendance for).

Trinidad, made it clear that he was the greatest WW in the last 15 years with his fights in 1999.

        Bute, has yet to that.

I understand your point. I defend Bute in his deserving to fight Ward. But, lets not compare him to Tito.

Don't consider this guy an ATG at all.

I'm almost certain RING MAG ranked Trinidad a top 10 ATG at welterweight a couple years ago.

Camacho? I give Oscar and Tito very little credit for beating the running/hugger, especially after Chavez and Rosario got done with him at the lower weights.

PS I'm not trying to compare Bute and Tito at all, I'm just looking at similar situations and comparing how differently they are being viewed.

Yes Camacho, especially in the same year he fought Carr and Campas is not bad.

And, the situations are not similar at all.

First TS compares the Final Four (Bantamweights) single elimination tourny with that of the Super Six.

Now this... Tito compared to Bute... This dude is on a roll.

Tito was a great but lets not get carried away!! He is not an ATG and not even a top ten WW ATG.. He should of fought Ike Quartey, Jose Luis Lopez.. Im not an Oscar De La Hoya fan but Oscar boxed the ****t out him and made him look foolish!! Man he had lethal left hook though!!!
