Comparing Tito and Bute in anyway, whether it's resume or accomplishment or title reign is ******. There's no comparison at all.

As much as I'd like to say Trinidad was a shell of his former self, at the end of the day, we as fans just have to give credit where credit is due.

Wright flat out dominated Trinidad. Leading up to the fight, I'm pretty sure Trinidad was the favorite for he gave no indication that a shell of his former self would show up.

Wright was just the better fighter that night.

Has everyone forgot that Tito fought Winky and Roy at 160 and 170lbs(the most he ever fought at) .....neither was his strongest weight and both were his last 2 fights.

Uhh....Tito beat Carr worse than Quartey did. He beat a better version too. And umm, Phillips hadn't fought Tszyu yet when he met Ike. Why are you making **** up?

Second, prior to Quartey's fight with Oscar, Tito had beaten FAR better opposition, including the Carr guy you keep forgetting that Tito fought before any of them did.

Third, Tito was not just considered the top WW (BTW, Oscar didn't become a welter until THREE years after the time you note), he was a top ten pound for pounder all those years.

Tito wasn't seen as THE top Welter from 94 forward. Pea didn't really start to show slip until 96 and was only seriously competed with by Roy (and Toney for a split second) P4P wise up until then. Pea was pretty clearly the Welter leader until Rivera I, with Tito seen as the looming threat, and then the debate kicked in.

Good god...what a waste. Imagine if those guys had been matched more, and sans politics. A very good era that should have been legend. Instead, too many what if's.

Im 31 years old bro and Ive been watching boxing sines I was 8 years old I have over 5000 boxing tapes on vhs and i also boxes my teen years I was in gleason gym in brooklyn and in the bronx were I first started boxing in a p a l gym I use to spar with emanuel lucero who you saw him beat by pacquiao and other good boxers I spared with in gleason ....so I dont think you should be callimg me a young buck cause I can problably show u a thing or too about boxing......

I put him on ignore. Life's too short to pay attention to obvious trolls. Welter has been 147 since around 1920. Prior to that, the limit was sometimes lower. 54 was just being Middle for a huge chunk of the gloved era. I'm not aware of Welter being that high in the same time period. If it was, it was entirely insiginificant.

Just in case anyone thought something else was the case.

And how exactly do you view Hagler as the 5th best welterweight? Because without looking it up I can next to gaurantee you he never fought in ant division but middleweight.
