Calzaghe is way too big and strong. he could walk through anything Floyd hit him with, however it would only take one punch flush to KO floyd. Even if Floyd made 160 with his speed and stamina intact he would be giving away 20lbs, about 5inches in reach,4inches in height. Loads of power, loads of natural punch resistance.

Floyd is a modern great but he would not be able to win.

He would get KO'd or worse. ruined for life by taking an awesome beating.

            FACT!

That slapper would never knock him out. Not with his great defense anyway.

              Seperate fact from opinion please.

Aren't you doing exactly the same thing?

                I'd have Joe over Floyd

It just wouldn't happen. Big difference between Toney and Mayweather. Using Toney as measuring stick is completely irrelevant, as Toney is better in areas than Mayweather(like defense, counter punching ability ect) and naturally bigger as well. Toney started his career at middleweight(160 LBS), while Floyd started his career at super featherweight(130 LBS). The difference in size would be apparent quickly. Take a current welterweight and match him 3 classes above his weight class against an undisputed super middleweight champion and pound for pound fighter? Calzaghe by mid rounds TKO.

I also noticed your underestimating of Calzaghe. Despite his lack of competition, he has beaten some pretty good fighters and is a great fighter himself. Hes one of the few fighters that gets stronger as the rounds go on and is a good pure boxer.

Toney does not have better defense then Floyd. Are you serious? Floyd is probably THE best ever defensive fighter. His defense will be studied and used in future generations.

Counter punching is about the same and Floyd is faster.

And naturally bigger has nothing to do with it. The main point using Toney as an example was, they both transcend weight classes as their "SKILLS" are the main reason why they're successfull against much bigger and stronger fighters. Guys like Pacquiao or Hatton would struggle bigtime if they moved up any further in weight then they are right now because they rely on punching power and strength advantages over other fighters. Floyd and Toney don't need that.

So against Joe, the skill of Floyd would be the main difference. And the fact that Joe is off balance most of the time, he would look even more off balance once Floyd starts moving around. Joe wouldn't have a easy target in front of him.

if floyd is a jnr welter y didnt he fight hatton at that weight seen as hatton was the best in that division. hatton had to move out of his comfort zone where he was most effective and fight floyd at ww. Hatton was never goin to win at that weight and the diffrence is only 7lbs. He struggled b4 floyd at ww but didnt fight someone of floyds class and fools are posting threads saying floyd would beat jc how old r u rele?
