If Floyd moved up to super-middleweight

Before his wrestling debut he weighed in at 159lbs. He only needs 2 more pounds to offically be a super-middleweight.

If a out of shape James Toney can be competitive witha natural heavyweight in Peter - a guy who gave the best HW Wlad Klitschko all he could handle 2 fights before that....then you can't say that Floyd has no chance in beating Joe at a 161/162 catchweight.

Unlike James Toney he still would be in excellent fighting shape even at that weight. Anybody with great boxing skills has a shot at beating Joe...old as no punches throwing Hopkins showed that. Lets be real here.

No offense but if Floyd moved to super middle he'd be fat.

Just imagine if he stepped in and called Joe out to fight him in Nov/December for the 168lb titles.

I doubt the height difference would matter with Calzaghe. Floyd has fought 5'11/6' foot tall guys before. Strength wouldn't be a factor against someone with Joe's style. He would have more size and strengths problems with Pavlik then Calzaghe. It's kinda like when Hopkins was willing to move up to heavyweight and fight Oleg Maskaev but said that he would never fight the Klitschko's or Peter because they were too big and too strong. Stylistically it just made sense for Hopkins. He saw an oppritunity and wanted to take it.

Just the same, stylistically this fight makes sense for Floyd.

From what I've seen against Hopkins, I predict that Floyd Mayweather could do just as well as B-Hop defensively, using his legs moving around but would do a whole lot better offensively landing more eye catching blows that would influence the judges.

        1. Floyd would move around and never let Joe close enough to do his pitty patty point scoring flurries

        2. Would use his jab by throwing it at Joe's stomach as he does most of the time.

        3. Would throw the straight right much faster and more accurate then Hopkins did and enough of those to win rounds.

Predicton: Floyd Mayweather by 117-111-esque scores.

That's what my thread says. I'm sure Joe would be motivated enough to take that fight.

So your asking Floyd Mayweather to move up to the highest weight he's probably ever been in LIFE and still have his foot speed and movement........yeah, that's not going to happen.

and even at 159 lbs or whatever, i gurantee floid will still hit with all the power of a 140 lber. if a real supermiddle could land flush on floid's chin he'd get knocked the **** out, pbf has never tasted that kind of power in his life. a punch flush on the dome from kelly pavlik or kessler would scramble floid's brains

He was walking around at 159/160 for Wrestlemania.

It would be easy to make 162. It wouldn't be fat and he would walk out of the ring losing 5 pounds after 12 rds. Whatever speed he had, it would be faster then Hopkins and his style could do enough damage to get a victory decision.

Joe hasn't showen me enough in that last fight to make me think like, "Oh no way Floyd can win this, it's possible".
