Maybe...but then so were a lot of guys, including one who KO'ed Lennox Lewis. Whatever the case, he was a top 5 heavyweight - how terrible could he have been, especially against a smallish 175lber? That most people disregard Jones' accomplishment because he didn't fight Lennox is a testament to how great he was. I mean, he woulda had to fight Lennox to appease y'all? Wow...
He shouldn't have tried to pass beating Ruiz off as being the HW champ of the world.
    He clearly wasn't.

Lewis-Tyson should've occured earlier, as was the case with Lewis-Holyfield and Lewis-Bowe never occured.
Are you trying to tell me that RJJ has a better Resume than Lewis?

I don't think Roy Jones, or those who will judge his career, look at the accomplishment as him beating the best heavyweight in the world. They look at it as an exceptional feat beacause he moved up two divisions to a weight LIMITLESS division and made a fool of a top five heavy, who also happened to be a titlist. Whether he was THE man or not doesn't take away from that accomplishment.

I don't think he was the best fighter of the 90's because his competition was not as good as Lennox lewis for starters.
You simply cannot tell me that Roy Jones faced better more dangerous threats than Lennox.
Roy may have had ability b ut showcasing it against bums was a waste.
Jones beat two of the best fighters ever in the 90's...lost one fight to D'Q avenged it with a 1st Round Ko, won titles from Middle to lightheavyweight, which is a feat in its own self.

Lewis had some great wins, but I take beating Toney and Hopkins over Holyfield and Rudduck? Or Golota...Plus Lewis was Ko'd in the 90's while Jones wasn't.

yeah i agree if their is a Undisputed Champion in that respected Division then u have to beat him in order to be even recognised a Champion at all 1 Belt mean's nothing

If there is not recognised Undisputed Champion at the weight u can claim to be the top dog

That's another debate and quite frankly, those who tend to diss Jones like to go off-subject like this. I am arguing the point that Jones was overrated, not that he was better than Lennox. And so far, I've yet to hear a convincing argument or rebuttal to my original post.

                  Roy Jones Career is overrated.
                  How's that?
Perhaps as a fighter he had the skill but he didn't face the right men at the right time.

Bernard never had that background as far as I remember.
So I think you may agree Roy had much more experience really.
They were both green...It was both their first world title bout.
