Too bad Roy didn't retire after his 35th birthday so there wouldn't be any questions about his chin at all. Before 35, it didn't matter what his chin was, because he was so fast that you couldn't hit him cleanly if at all.

7 world titles in 4 weight classes from middleweight all the way to heavyweight. Whether you like Ruiz or not, he outweighed Jones by 30 pounds and was a world champ, so Roy deserves some credit.

Bernard Hopkins, James Toney, Mike McCallum, Virgil Hill, John Ruiz, Clinton Woods, Montell Griffin, Julio Cesar Gonzales, etc not a bad resume of wins for someone that supposedly ducked everyone.

He beat a young inexperiened Hopkins by close decision and was afraid to fight him again when Hopkins got better. He would not fight the TRUE heavyweight champ at the time, Lennox Lewis..he chose to fight the paper champ Ruiz. He is overated.

C'mon dude, Roy fighting Lennox Lewis is like Manny Pacquiao fighting Joe Calzaghe. Roy really would have to be superman to pull that one off. The fact that he came up from winning a title at middleweight to be competitive at Heavyweight is pretty amazing in itself.

And how was Roy afraid to fight Hopkins when they've been set to fight 3 times and Bernard has pulled some crap at the last minute all 3 to price himself out of the fight.

And 28 with 23 professional fights is young and inexperienced these days? When Roy was 24 with 21 pro fights himself?

Roy priced himself out of those fights with Hopkins. If youre gonna move up and beat the champion then beat THE champion, not the paper champion and claim you broke some record because of it. Everyone know Lewis was THE champion not joke ass Ruiz.

DM flew to the States to watch Roy fight Hill. He turned around flew back never said anything after that, even after all the talk about him wanting to fight him. That's almost like he ducked Roy, because he was scared off.

Also it's hilarious how a hater will pick apart lets say..........a tune up fight and start the whole "oh he fights bums" thing. Haha like every professional fighter is supposed to make a career off fighting World Class guys in 90 percent of his fights.

And it's great how the topic starter lists obscure tune up type names off Roy's resume, disregarding the fact he's fought 19 former or current World Champs.

            LMFAO.

yeah forget about Woods, Harding, and Gonzalez. Somehow they're bums even though they're outstanding exceptional fighters in their own right.

Well when Floyd Mayweather Jr moved up to JWW, in May of 2004, Kostya Tszyu was THE champion, not "joke ass Gatti," but no one batted an eye at that.

Roy was 34 when he moved up to HW to fight Ruiz, and his speed and skills had already started to diminish. 5'11" 175lb (before he moved up) Roy was not going to be able to beat 6'5" 245 lb Lennox at that point in his career, so why even try. Unless you really hate Roy, there would be no reason to want to see that fight.

Why do people continue to mention Bhop as to green when he is FOUR YEARS OLDER THAN ROY.

At the time that they fought, Roy was more experienced. Hopkins got a late start.

Really? Roy with 21 fights, fighting for his first world title, was less experienced than Bernard with 23 fights fighting for his first world title? How so?
