Ok if your going to reference these ppv's in GB than your going to have to come up with some numbers and who broadcasted them.

Sky broadcast four of them starting with the Tszyu fight, Setanta broadcast the Castillo fight and Sky will be broadcasting the Mayweather fight. I have no idea where Sky publish their PPV numbers so if anyone can find them they are doing better than me.

So what? People say that as if it wouldn't be expected given England's size and the sports climate there and in some of these underachieving (sports-wise) countries. I'm not sure how this addresses anything I've said though. I simply said that he's more renowned, which is a word not exclusively applicable to England.

On mayweather will never have the support of the whole country, for one hes arrogant, two he looks untouchable in the ring, those 2 things never bode well for popularity for anyone.

It doesn't matter. The people who don't like him pay to see him lose then, it isn't a matter of non-recognition. The point is that he's a draw either way you put it. Hatton isn't in the U.S.

So your using Hatton's PPV's to show how popular he is, yet you cannot provide us with an estimate to what those numbers were....

Not if he was hugging and clinching like hed been doing, we cant stand that **** here. In america, you need more than just personality to be popular, this country is CROWDED with great atheletes vying for popularity, in america you have to really standout to be popular. tyson was a complete *******, but the key thing he had was knockout power, so his bandwagon was huge for years because of it.

america is home to thousands of top notch atheletes in every sport, you really have to set yourself apart in this country, and the way hatton fights, if the collazo/urango/tszyu fights really pushed to an american audience, he wouldnt be that huge here at all.

you have probably watched 3 of hattons fights, throughout his career he has produced fantastic excitement and value for money. yes he holds occassionally but at least he comes to fight unlike floyd who dances around the ring to a chorus of boos from his "massive fanbase"
