Ok if your going to reference these ppv's in GB than your going to have to come up with some numbers and who broadcasted them.Comment

Based on what?
He is the 2nd most marketable fighter in the sport, as anyone can see by his superior ppv numbers.Comment

the thing is though is that someone like ray leonard fighting hatton, hatton would NEVER have more fans in that arena with someone like leonard, or someone like say meldrick taylor.
mayweather being black factors in somewhat, but i dont like to play race cards unless i have to because its a touchy subject i dont enjoy talking about on here. mayweather being supremely talented, plus arrogant, plus young black and rich doesnt play well to anyone except mostly...you guessed it, black people.
mayweather doesnt have the appealing personality like oscar, taylor and leonard, he doesnt try to hide who or what he is, he isnt pretending to be something he isnt, if youre an *******, just ****ing be one and dont try to play me.
but i wouldnt attribute his lack of popularity mostly on race to be honest.Comment

exactly mate couldn't of put it better myselfComment

Not if he was hugging and clinching like hed been doing, we cant stand that **** here. In america, you need more than just personality to be popular, this country is CROWDED with great atheletes vying for popularity, in america you have to really standout to be popular. tyson was a complete *******, but the key thing he had was knockout power, so his bandwagon was huge for years because of it.
america is home to thousands of top notch atheletes in every sport, you really have to set yourself apart in this country, and the way hatton fights, if the collazo/urango/tszyu fights really pushed to an american audience, he wouldnt be that huge here at all.Comment

What some of you Hatton fans are failing to realize is that no American fighter will get that kind of support. Like I said earlier two different countries with two different types of fans. Alot of Hatton's support comes from National loyalty. In America **** is different you don't get support just because you are American. The face of boxing Oscar De la Hoya wouldn't get people to travel like that to watch him fight Hatton in Manchester. So this argument over the fans coming to see Hatton compared to who would travel over seas to any American boxer is very ******.theres such a thing as proportion. britain has approx 60 million inhabitants and america over 250 million i believe. proprtionally ricky is WAY more popular in his own country than floyd will ever be. ricky has sold out venues in britain consistently and has done very well on PPV in britain with his fights. try and remember that america isn't the centre of the universe and PPV's can happen in other places. floyd could never dream of having 20,000 fans spending thousands of dollars of their own money to go across and support himComment

You claimed Hatton was popular because of the ppv's he sold in Britian, but never mentioned the PPV numbers, who broadcasted the ppv, and sources or citations at all for your information.
In addition to this you fail to mention that Hatton's fights were all on HBO in the United States because he wasnt popular enough to sell a PPV, and his fight against Mayweather will be his first true PPV.Comment
