What the **** is wrong with you people?
Humping someone while they are passed out is rape regardless of age. Lets hope some of you evil pricks never serve on a jury. I can't believe what I've read in this thread. You truly are a sick bunch of mother****ers.
Why do you people keep avoiding this question:
"Why is Fraud Ducker Jr demanding these tests all of a sudden?"
I don't know why and to be honest I don't care.
More rigorous testing will always be better for the sport not worse. How can someone doing synchronised swimming be subjected to more thorough drug testing procedures than boxers? I mean WTF?
Proof that everyone is on an even playing field will at least stop the tiresome accusations.
Okay I'm sitting on the fence with all this Floyd & Manny crap.
However, if Manny is so pissed about being accused of taking PED'S then why not just take the tests and show the whole world the Mayweathers are full of shit? If he passes all the tests & beats Floyd to a pulp then the whole world knows he is the man. The legit undisputed #1 P4P. Yes blood testing is not mandatory in boxing but it damn well should be.
On a side note because I know bugger all about testing.
Would hair testing or saliva testing be just as effective as a blood test? If so why are we not looking at that option?
Saliva would be within ethical standards.
Hair testing is seldom used. That's because it doesn't really have a specific date, to which it can be traced so its viewed unethical. You could have taken something years before, and gotten off of it, but it'll still show up in the hair
Thanks for the explanation. :biggthump
watchu mean ignorance, i'm giving u clue there? the effect of blood testing on shane is the same effect all women experience when they're having their monhtly menstruation....:D
Blood letting weakened Shane..that's a fact!
You don't have any facts, so cut the crap.
I'd rather run the risk of both fighters being a little fatigued, than any of them using something illegal. The end justifies the means. We get clean fights without all the suspicion hanging over anybody.
I hope so. That’ll be the last we ever hear about Tim.
I guess we would find out one way or another if he is the real deal or not. Both Charlo & Castano would be huge step ups for Tim.
Great fighter, but look at the quality of fighters he beat to clear the division. Was always going to be a piece of cake for him.
I already rate him very highly, but clearing the division hasn’t elevated him in my opinion, due to the calibre of opponents.
Plant is a very accomplished & slick boxer. I really enjoy watching his fights. Puts together impressive punch combinations.
Having said all that I can't see him beating Canelo. It's just too big a step up in class to anybody he has fought before.
I'll certainly be watching with anticipation though.
Wood was winning the fight & the knockdown came late in the round. But his corner did the right thing. He can live to fight another day. There is nothing to dispute IMO.
I saw on another forum that its pretty much a done deal? Hard to gage how this fight goes as we dont know if Monsters power moves up
I think his power will move up just fine. I expect he will clear out this division as well.
I think the fight will get done and soon.
As long as both agree on a 50/50 split.
There is tons of money to be made by both fighters if they can agree to this. I think Floyd came back for this fight in particular. However I'm not so sure he will be as keen after seeing Manny destroy Cotto. Still we all know how hard Floyd is to hit.
My fear is the fight will be a let down. Floyd will probably back pedal & jab all night. It might get him the decision but it wont make for a classic fight.
Margarito was up by 1-2 rounds in my opinion. Cotto just kept getting hurt and couldn't take the pain/pressure. What Cotto did is clearly running NOT BOXING. What kind of boxer would move away from his opponent without throwing a jab.
Yeah I thought Cotto was a couple of rounds up early. Margarito winning round 2 of course. But by the time we got to round 10 I thought Tony had probably nudged ahead. I thought round 2 was the defining round of the fight for me. Margarito landed a brutal body shot that took the wind out of Cotto's sails for a while.
Cotto then had to protect the body more and Tony knew right then and there that he hurt Cotto. His smile at the end of the round said it all. The round 2 body punch threw doubt in Miguel's mind and built confidence in Tony.
Random blood testing should be standard protocol for professional boxing bouts.
Bingo.
Lets get rid of the innuendo altogether & test for everything, every friggin pro fight.
This is too bad for BOXING
He is undefeateid, bsut is he respected? The answer is quite simply, NO. The decisions of Floyd Mayweather Jr over time have cost him. They have cost both his legacy, and more recently they have cost him financially. Why anyone would throw 40 million dollars in the trash can over some blood is still beyond this writers imagination.
Mayweather has made a history out of picking smaller opponents. He has not made any fans with his eagerness to flash his money around either. Is the man skilled in the ring? Yes he is. The problem is, he's never taken on anyone with enough size and talent that has earned him any respect in victory. Sure, recently Floyd came out of retirement and beat up a blown up dehydrated Juan Manuel Marquez. This defeat did nothing for his legacy. It only shored up what most people have been saying, he cherry picks smaller guys. I recently spoke with the president of USA Boxing's Southern Association, Stan Nichols. Nichols formerly held the title of Chief of Officials for the state of Mississippi. He has been in the sport of boxing for a long time. Although he's not heard of on a national level, his experience on the sport of boxing has to be respected. Nichols sparred with the great Roberto Duran many years ago down in Panama back in the 1980's. Nichols shared his thoughts on Mayweather and the decisions that he's made over the years, " Floyd has great skills, yet he has never stepped up to the big challenge. He had an opportunity to deposit perhaps over 40 million dollars in a Pacquiao fight, but chose not to. Now he has a chance to prove himself against Shane Mosley. If he ops out of this fight, it would damage an already questionable legacy." Read up on USA boxing here - http://www.usaboxing.org/
Many of Floyd's detractors have relentlessly pounded on him throughout the Pacquiao negotiations. Once the lawsuit for slander was filed against Mayweather, it was all out war between the two camps, thus killing any hopes for that fight to happen.
Floyd's next opportunity came by way of a terrible tragedy in Haiti. Shane Mosley was scheduled to fight Andre Berto but due to the earthquake in Haiti, Berto had to pull out of the fight to tend to his family. This opened up the opportunity for Floyd to step up and take on Mosley. Negotiations are ongoing, but reports are that Mayweather is balking at the talks, and is not happy with the numbers. This is a potentially lethal injection to his already shaken legacy. If Mayweather bails out of this fight against Mosley, he very well may go down as the fighter who ducked the best, and fought the rest.
:moon::moon::moon:
The bold part applies to both of them.
One could have said " gimme the test, I still beat your ass"
The other could have said "okay I'll stop with the blood test shit and beat you anyway"
Both of these guys and their handlers let boxing fans down. I repeat BOTH OF THEM.
Conte is using his experience and expertise to get a job.
Its like a Serial rapist trying to help fathers protect their daughters.
Read the article again. He already has a job. So I don't know where you are heading with that. However surely a better policed drug testing procedure can only be good for the sport?
Can't really root for either, I like both. Roy is a legend, and I'd like to see him go out with another win over one of the most formidable opponents he's ever faced (regardless of what the general opinion of this forum is), but then I'd also like to see Zaggs end his career on a win over aforementioned legend.
However, I think Zaggs will win, either by comfortable decision, or late TKO.
If Jones wins, it won't be a decision, it'll have to be an early KO, before the start of the 5th, there's no other way for him to win this fight. He doesn't have the stamina to go 12 at Zaggs' pace and make a decision, and if he jumps Calzaghe early, tries for a KO and doesn't make it happen, he'll be utterly gassed by the 9th and will be TKO'd shortly thereafter. If Zaggs had anything less than a concrete chin, I'd give Roy a pretty good chance of getting that early KO win, but the guy (Joe) has caught some real bombs from a number of big punchers, and I've never seen him hurt. I have no doubt Roy can land some good shots, but I just don't think he can put Zaggs on his shorts for a 10 count.
Great preview.
I see it the same way. I don't think Roy will have the engine to last all night any more. It's a pity we didn't see this fight years ago. Would have been a cracker. Both great fighters.
Mijares to hang them up?
Thats worst than what any hater can say. It was about Vic, not about Mijares. Mijares is not strong enough to hurt Vic, and Vic is underrated because of his lost to Donaire.
Spot on.
If Vic hadn't slipped up against Donaire, a hell of a lot more people would have expected him to win this fight. His team did their homework and improved a few flaws in his style. Vic's never going to be a classic boxer but boy can he hit for his size. The crazy thing about this forum is that a soon as a fighter loses a fight they are apparently crap. It happened to Vic and now it's Mijares's turn.
Mijares will be back as good, if not better than ever.
But sometimes shit happens.
Gratz to Vic. Surprised your opponent and many fans tonight.:beerchug:
Thought LC won the fight by perhaps a round.
However Berto should never have lost a point for holding in the first place. Therefore a draw would also have been a fitting result to what was a fantastic fight. The judge that scored that fight 116-111 for Berto after he was deducted a point should never referee again. Terrific performance from both fighters.
I'm not sure why Hatton believes he would be holding the cards in the hypothetical negotiations for this fight.
My thoughts exactly. Even if Ricky wins against Manny I don't think he is in any superior negotiating position to call the shots. He is the one that wants a rematch after all.
Cortez admittedly was way too quick to separate them but I don't want the ref to go too far the other way and allow 12 rounds of hugging either. Give them a chance to work out of the clinch and after a reasonable amount of time separate them. I don't think a Mayweather v Hatton 2 is a fight that excites many fight fans except perhaps Ricky Hatton fans because it's already been done. Manny v Mayweather would probably create more interest. Having said that Hatton will be real tough to get passed for Manny and is an exciting fight in itself.
