I can't believe that decision is being disputed.

I have no problem with the stoppage. He was hurt and I can see why the corner would try to protect the fighter. Having said that, I also wouldn't have had a problem if they had waited to see if he recovered in time for the start of the next round.

While its cool to **** on Ben from time to time that was brilliant cornerwork. Knockdown at 07.10 He got up way too quick. Look at him in the corner after he's still on rubber legs a full 14 seconds after Bens threw the towel in, his legs literally don't react/go at least twice! Even the referee is not sold and tells him again to raise his hands - and I can almost guarantee if that was the other way around he'd have waved it the moment Lara stumbled when told to raise his gloves the first time! I've repeated myself a lot but watch that again he is done and going to get badly ktfo should that continue. Its like when Kiko iced Galahad, it should have been stopped, period. It wasn't and he got flatlined and frankly hasn't been the same since. No, I think in a World title fight? With 10 seconds to go in the round 'That fight should of not been stopped'. But under pressure I can understand why the fight was stopped. Boxing is not a game. Wood done extremely well to get up, and signaled to the referrer that he wanted to fight on. Note: I also agreed with Wilder being stopped vs Fury in their second fight. You do not stop a fighter like Wilder, while he is still on his feet and fighting back 'No matter how futile his efforts seemed, Wilder was still trying to win'. These are World Champions in World title fights, you can to let them fight until there is no more 'They are gladiators'. But I do understand from a compassionate view point why both fights were stopped by the corner etc.

I think it was the right call. Corner men saw their guy hurt, so why wait?

Wood was winning the fight & the knockdown came late in the round. But his corner did the right thing. He can live to fight another day. There is nothing to dispute IMO.

How many times have we seen fighters get knocked down heavily to the point where the stoppage seems imminent and they don’t get stopped? Hiw many times have said fighter gone on to win?
