I really really like this fight!!! Great and ballsy fight for Canelo to take.
If Canelo vs Caleb Plant happens on December 19th who do you think wins???
I think Canelo wins a decision or possibly a late stoppage from Canelo powerful body punching in a competitive fight.
Why are people so high on Plant? He hasn’t done anything or looked unstoppable
It’s an ok opponent for Canelo to become a legit 4 division champion. Considering Canelo’s run of opponents, I can’t complain
Canelo winning on points is the most likely outcome. Canelo has no serious power and he won`t stop 168 guy in his prime. GGG, Jacobs, Lara, Cotto, all took Canelo`s best shots pretty well.
You’ve never been a Canelo fan, so as far as rating techniques, you’re only focused on the result? What if Canelo plays with Plant? What if Canelo won a UD with Plant but was able to KO Benavidez?
A win is a win. Plant is what many fans have been raving about. The LDBC LOVE Caleb Plant... who knows why... I don’t know of LDBC diehard for Tennessee so it’s obviously they’re hoping Plant beats Canelo just to fit their Haymonite agenda. They really don’t care about Plant as a person ;)
I've always thought promoters or their peeps post on this site.
I am or at least was a Canelo fan. But the big boys if they want to wear the "Big Boy" pantalones have to fight the best.
I know Cinnamon could easily beat Plant if he fights to his potential.
So why are you picking on the kids?
If Canelo is on that beef again, which I think he is, he wins by knockout, if not he wins by decision. Caleb Plant has one decent name on his record - Uzcategui - who also lost to Lionell Thompson right after, other than that Plants resume is garbage. I would have preferred someone with power, like Benavidez or Bivol at 168.
Caleb Plant turned down a fight with Canelo because he didn't want 2 training camps back to back.
He knows he has to be at his best just to have a chance. I think Canelo stops him late.
He's got 5 inches in height and 3 and a half inches in reach. Canelo isn't dominating guys his size and Plant has a good style to trouble Canelo but we don't know how he is at the elite level. You'd have to favor Canelo but I'm literally sick of seeing guys predict Canelo dominating or winning via body shot. He's had 2 body shot KO's in however many years against subpar opposition. He's a great body puncher but I wouldn't consider him devastating.
Nothing. Actually, Plant's style is typically considered a bad match up for Canelo so this is a legitimate fight.
As always on NSB the fight will draw tons of criticism. :lol1:
I've seen plant struggle with pressure. I love his style tho been a big fan but I've seen people have no respect for his power and just get after him.
That being said plant doesnt like to get on his bike as let's say lara did against canelo, plant will stand and trade and against canelo that could be his downfall.
Great fight tho. I'd predict a close decision either way or late stoppage by canelo
Plant is a very accomplished & slick boxer. I really enjoy watching his fights. Puts together impressive punch combinations.
Having said all that I can't see him beating Canelo. It's just too big a step up in class to anybody he has fought before.
I'll certainly be watching with anticipation though.
I would lean Canelo but it is going to be TOUGH lets make no mistake about it. At 168 I think it is going to be very difficult for Canelo all these guys are BIG, Young and can Fight so I don't see a soft touch at 168 other than Yildirim honestly :dunno:
Plant is slick and can move, the type of style which people say is all wrong for the slow-footed Canelo.
Just like Billy Joe Saunders was supposed to be.
I'm picking Alvarez to take the IBF super middleweight title off him but we'll see.
