When do you all think we will get an announcement?

I think the fight will get done and soon. As long as both agree on a 50/50 split. There is tons of money to be made by both fighters if they can agree to this. I think Floyd came back for this fight in particular. However I'm not so sure he will be as keen after seeing Manny destroy Cotto. Still we all know how hard Floyd is to hit. My fear is the fight will be a let down. Floyd will probably back pedal & jab all night. It might get him the decision but it wont make for a classic fight.

Unless of course, the fucker suddenly retires again :nonono: Who says he won't? I wouldn't be surprised at this point. He clearly came back for Pac. But he won't take 50-50. If Berto beats SSM, he'd want Berto. If SSM wins, which I think he will, he won't go near him. But Pac would. And he'll be left wit nothin else to do.

Everyone thought the negotations would take a long time and maybe even prevent the fight but now Im starting to think that it will be quick as both guys want the fight, Pac seems to want a quick date if not March, and I think both guys are starting to realize that despite what they wanted or what they thought, the purse is going to be split 50/50 and thats the only way either guy is taking the fight. No way Floyd is taking less and no way that Pac is taking less so that might actually allow things to happened quickly personally, i think they've been negotiating "under the table" a little bit. maybe they might wait for the numbers for this fight to come in before they finalize the split....but i hear March 13, possibly at cowboys stadium....if march is the month, they can't spend too much time negotiating, considering both guys will have to start training by the end of january. i think we'll get an announcement mid-december AT THE LATEST. I don't expect to here anything any time soon. IMHO, Floyd will do everything is his power not to get this fight done. Floyd fights for money remember? If the money aint right (meaning Floyd getting 70% of it) , there is no fight. I will be shocked if this fight is made. I really doubt Mayweather will fight for a fair purse. HE WILL price himself out of the fight saying that he is the draw and hes the better fighter.... his usual speech but everyone knows hes just not willing to take risks anymore. He is more worried about staying undefeated rather than building his legacy. Pac should fight the Mosley Berto winner to stay busy rather than wait for Floyd to fight.

This is the biggest and best fight to be made Mang. With ALLLLLLL of the money that EVERYONE will make, im confident that it will be made my friend. Also Shane has to beat Berto. I think he will but you know that anything is possible in this sport Floyd will price himself out of the fight. I just don't think he'd accept 50/50. Pac will have to defeat the winner of Mosley/Berto to unify WW, and then Floyd will have no room to argue he deserves more $$$. This is what I'm thinkin also.

If it happens im pretty sure it wont happen in march. That's only 4 months from now and nowhere near enough time to hype up what's going to be the historically most significant fight since ali-frazier where both fighters have serious claims to being the absolute best in the entire sport. It will most likely be scheduled on 4th of july weekend to take advantage of the holiday.

Greenberg was told by Richard from GBP that he will be calling Arum to discuss the fight. Thats what is needed and im confident that it will get made but I feel where you coming from. I heard that too. I hope you are right. This the fight the needs to happen.
