future p.r. champs:
Jesus rojas weighs in at 122
luis cruz weighs in at 124
I agree, these guys will be champions. Amaze me how similar rojas' boxing style is to cotto's.:boxing:
Many think that some little common sense + these two images are enough proof. Decide for yourselves. . .

About this Cotto Vs Urkal.. Will this be televised on Showtime? Or should i switch to HBO.. Either one or the other.
Tony should fight Williams. If he doesn't then what ever. I have nothing more to say about tony.
it will be televised on HBO.

i think cotto can beat anybody at 147 except for floyd. even then, i think cotto might be able to break him down and overpower him.
margarito, baldy, clotty, hatton, cintron would all be dispatched inside the distance. the only guy who i think would stand a chance against cotto (aside from floyd) would be paul williams. but williams is lacking in defense and hasnt really been tested yet. but his long reach, jab, solid chin, and power would give him a pretty good chance at cotto.
forget cotto/margarito. thats a mismatch, though it would be nice to see. cotto should fight the winner of margarito/williams.
and floyd is on his way up to 154, and the #1 welter spot will be open. that'll be cotto's chance.
Co-sign. Tony may get lucky and hurt Cotto, but Baldy doesn't have chance.:nonono:
It's much easier to understand a foreign language than to speak or write it. I have a lot of respect for him for having the cojones to speak english in front of thousands of fans. Trinidad barely speaks spanish.
Hatton doesn't have chance at 147 agaisnt Cotto. Cotto isn't going back to 140. I doubt that this fight happens, as Hatton's management knew that Cotto would be a different animal at 147.
For 12 rounders they anounced the official judges scoring every 4 rounds. I like it. I think is harder to steal a fight from a fighter, if he knows how crooked the judges are ealier in the fight(4th rnd). He will know that he has to pressure the action thus giving the public a more action packed fight. We 'll also get to know which fighters show no heart by coasting ( a la tito-de la Hoya fight) when they are ahead comfortably on the cards.
As far as Collazo goes, I am not interested in that fight. There are other fights out there for Cotto if he gets by Quintana and he'd have to fight Urkal as his mandatory. I see Cotto fighting Urkal in June (PR parade in NY weekend) and then fighting Gatti, the winner of Margarito/Williams (if Margo gets by Clottey), Baldi, Judah, or maybe even Hatton. They are all bigger fights than fighting Collazo and all bring more money to the table (especially since it opens up to more than one market, the Puerto Ricans)
Cotto stated that the Urkal fight is already signed and that it may happen in march. Then there is the June dated at MSG which may be agaisnt Tony, Collazo or Gatti.:boxing:
santa cruz is a tough son of a bitch though, and very awkward...didnt he give edner cherry a hell of a fight too
We are talking about two different Santa Cruz.
One is Roberto who make Mike look bad.

The other is Jose Armando who fought Cherry.

No he haven't fought "la hiena" Barrios. Mike has look impressive lately but I still rememeber who bad Santa Cruz make him look. I believe that Torres has one punch KO power and will KO Mike before the 7rnd. Mike will get :owned: if he trades punches with Torres.
I'm not sure if I had a gun to my head and picking the winner was life or death I would say PBF by UD but Cotto's shots do so much damage he might be able to corner PBF in the later rounds if he can get enough leather on him early.
Without having to dehydrate himself I also expected Cotto to be more fluid and throw more combos that we have seen him throw in his last few fights and it proved true. These combo's are exactly what Cotto would need to beat PBF because you definitely can't pop shot PBF.
My heart is with Cotto by my mind tells me PBF but after this last fight its a closer margin than I would've though previously.
I agree totally with you. Co-sign
Nobody is bringing up Tony's injury bec. it wasn't a serious injury which handycapped his performance, as Clottey's.
Espinoza dijo que Margarito fue al hospital porque le dolía la mano y no se quiso tomar riesgos.
“Pero no esperamos que sea algo serio."

I watch again and it seems that all started when Jose headbutted Evangelista. Then Evangelista retaliated by throwing some water forcefully in his face.
I checked another vid and he did asked for 1 more rnd. You guys were right about that. But let just say it was half ass attemped it was obvious he didn't want no more.
Well he was a beaten fighter with ZERO hope and he was EXTREMELY frustrated.
Wtf am i doing, trying to convince someone that gatti has heart. If you cant see it now, you never will... but how cant u see it?
I never said that Gatti has no heart. Let's just say that Mcgirt's conversation with him on that 6th round wouldn't be shown in vid showcasing Gatti's heart through his career.
A) The guy somehow stood up for all 6 of those rounds, despite wobbling back to his corner a few times.
B) He DID ask for one more round, but anybody with half a brain would have stopped the fight at that point, and only a idiot would complain. Especially go against the word of Mcgirt, a guy who clearly cares a lot more about Gatti then money
He was definitely getting punished and humiliated but please made up stuff.
1. He didn't wobble a few times to his corner. He did walk tired as hell to his corner on the 6th, basically asking Mcgirt to stop the fight with his body language.
2. He didn't argued about the fight stoppage and if he asked for one more rnd, it must have being edited from the youtube video. I don't remebered hearing that.
I not sure if something else happen off camera but at least that was the first aggresion that I saw on camera. The miguel -evangelista thing wasn't cover well on camera. They just showed restraining/separating miguel and evagelista out the ring. The telefutura comentators said that evagelista "agredio" a Miguel.:nonono:
This is something I've noticed for a while now, the main translator for HBO(I forget his name) tends to miss a lot of the conversation in the corner of Spanish speaking fighter, & sometimes tends to be way off, the reason I brought this up is the Freitas fight. As soon as Freitas came to the corner after the 8th the corner told him "this fight is over" over & over again, then they asked him if he wanted to continue the fight & he shook his head no, I'm not saying he didn't quit on his stool, but the corner said long before he did. The fuckin' translator kept saying "The fight is not over" which was exactly opposite of what the corner had said. Now I know it wasn't the main guy doing this fight but he fucked up nontheless, & It happens alot, the only reason why I bring it up is because alot of non-spanish speaking fans are missing something. Am I the only one who notices this shit?
I agree a 100%. There is one spanish translator colombian born, "young" black hair and eyeglasses which is a decent translator, although like all of them shortens the boxer's answers.
